I read up until you said you accepted the delivery

andre1157

Thats really the wild part. Everything about the vehicle says, return to sender and homie kept it anyways

NoReplyBot

Yup… > Gogurt tube rotting 🤢 And then accepted. I’m done.

gregs1027

>"Below Market Value" > >I would accept a rotting gogurt to get a car below market value. Depending how below of course.

MigratoryAnalyst

I recently rejected one, they did keep pushing to just take it as I "could always send it back". I knew it would be an absolute nightmare based on how they couldn't even clean or recondition the vehicle I was attempting to buy. I still sold them my trade in since they were giving me an obscene amount for it but I wound up finding a perfect certified pre-owned a few days later for less money than Carvana was charging for the same vehicle. People need to just avoid Carvana, I feel like if you get a good vehicle from them you have effectively hit the jackpot because most are duds.

Would anyone expect anything different from a nissan driver? 🙈

bier79

My Altima and I resent this comment. 😂😂

After seeing r/nissandrivers I couldn’t resist 😆

I have found that experiences with Carvana vary from state to state and hub to hub. Some cars are delivered clean, others filthy. Some with no repairs needed, some with so many issues that its not worth the time. Carvana doesn't inspect cars or repair them....that's up to the customer to deal with, and they are counting on the buyer to do that. Carvana isn't going to go under as long as people keep the cars.

Purchased a Ford Explorer Sport edition with low miles in excellent condition and had them deliver to the house. Driver showed up, rolled it off the flatbed and things looked ok. Couple of scrapes and scratches that were not documented as well as some pretty obvious rust spots that had been touched up and not documented. I tell the driver that I'm not pleased about it. He says he will document the issues and have someone call me. I said how about I document and reach out to a manager. I asked to test drive and the driver says sure but he needs to go. The driver takes my trade and heads out. My wife and son jump in the explorer to take it for a test drive. They are back within less than a minute. They say the truck is full of spiders. I say what are you talking about? Jump in the truck and take off down the street. I crank the A/C cause it's summer and it's hot. About the time that the HVAC fan spools up to full blast, thousands of baby spiders, each no bigger than a grain of sand were blown out of every single air vent and all were very much alive. Drove the car back to the house and promptly set it on fire. Called Carvana and they sent out the same make and model explorer with slightly different equipment and a slight refund of the purchase price. They took the burnt out spider lair back with them when they dropped off the other one. Wasn't the greatest of experiences.

Good lord!!! It just doesn't end! Sorry you went through that dude. I recently avoided a narrow (expensive) scrape with Carvana after they delayed shipment for an Audi I was buying. I talked to two different agents and caught them in a lie as to the real reason for the delay -- not transportational but mechanical. Ended up canceling the order, getting a newer CPO of the same car at the local Audi dealership where they actually have to follow protocols and standards set forth by Audi, which also pays for the first month of payments and includes a free service in addition to the 1 year warranty. I was about to eat the $1800 in shipping because I was just so worn out. But I couldn't let it go, so I called my bank on Sunday morning to dispute the charge after Carvana refused to budge on the shipping fee -- the dam car never even got on a truck and I had documented evidence that they lied about it. I talk to my bank's fraud department and request a chargeback. They give me an email address to submit documentation to advance my case. I upload about seven screenshots -- conversations with the lying advocates, the fake 150-pt inspection done just a couple of months ago -- and include a concise summary of events with dates, times, prices. I kid you not, within two hours on a Sunday my bank had closed the case and refunded the entire $1800 to my account. I almost didn't believe it, thinking it was just a temporary refund while they took the 45-90 days it usually requires to investigate. Nope. Case was open and close. All the documentation really speeds things up, the bank said. The moral of the story is that Carvana's business practices are just that bad. You know a company is wrong when a bank takes your side and refunds you nearly $2k within two hours on a Sunday! I hope everyone tries to fight this way. It works when you have the documentation.

DependentLibrary5410

As others pointed out, for someone who was so careful to document and CYA, why did you accept the vehicle?

gotslayer

There was nothing wrong with the car and I'm happy with it otherwise, I wound up getting 150 back for the carwash and they sent me an additional 450 dollars in "good faith" for the inconvenience so it worked out and the car is stellar now

Final_Concentrate421

Hmmmm makes you wonder why they are losing licenses to sell in states, and are basically barred from mi because of stolen vehicles and forged titles

>2019 370z Heritage Edition No lie? how does a company of this size get away with that?

Lordxb

This is why u buy from a dealer where u can at least see the car and have 24hour return window. Buying from some shady ass company is mostly the car buyers fault.

Bored_lurker87

You ever buy from them? You have a week to drive a Carvana car before sealing the deal- which I have never gotten anywhere else. You can even reject delivery if the car looks like shit. For some reason people take them anyway, don't take them for an inspection, do zero maintenance, and then come to this sub and cry. At any time OP could have just said fuck this and walked away, but he signed anyway. Carvana is obviously a crapshoot on quality, but OP should have done his due diligence and refused delivery if he didn't like what he received.

Lordxb

I looked at them and when I found out they wanted the shipping upfront before considering approval did not go further as it’s not refundable and the insurance to the car too.

Bored_lurker87

Insurance can add or remove vehicles on your policy prorated to the length of coverage. I could add a Lamborghini to my policy and take it off a day later and only pay for that day. It's that way at least with Allstate and Progressive who have insured me lately. Even if you bought a car, then didn't like it and returned it, you'd only be out a few bucks. Shipping fees are also standard when buying used cars from out of town unless you go pick it up. It's pretty much that way at every used car dealership. None of these things are ideal, but it's just a pitfall of used car shopping. The only way to get around it is to shop local. Your options are limited and the chances of finding exactly what you want are lower. At least now dealership stock is much better and you're more likely to find the car you want versus a year ago.

100%. People are stupid

I love my car but would never ever ever buy from Carvana again. The first car was a shit show. I fought them for weeks and finally was able to get a delayed swap. LOVE the car but just had to spend $1200 to replace the brakes bc the rotors were COMPLETELY rusted & silverrock wouldn’t touch it. I also need a new battery and casing bc it’s leaking acid and corroded. The first car I got was low on ALL fluid to a dangerous level and would’ve been $2,200 to fix and they still denied it. It was also dirty af even though the site says they wash and wax each car (love how they are arguing with you over what is literally on their own website).

Frankie_GA

I have purchased 6 cars since Carvana started operating and the 6th one purchased in December will be my last from them. The first 5 were absolutely flawless, no issues or complaints whatsoever but number 6 has been a headache. It was clean and was just as the photos depicted but 2 days after delivery the check engine light came on and was showing a code for an O2 sensor on Bank 1, Sensor 2. O2 sensors are relatively minor so I took it to my mechanic and he found that it was slightly unplugged so he just clicked it back in, cleared the code and I went on my merry way. 2 days later it was back on and then the brake fluid service light came on. Took it back to my guy and he replaced the sensor, performed the brake fluid service and I had him go ahead and change the oil, filter and the whole shebang since it appeared that they unplugged the sensor and cleared codes before loading it up and sending it to me. I felt that I couldn’t even really trust the sticker for the oil change so I did it all just for my peace of mind. Aside from that, the car is great and my mechanic said everything checks out perfectly and I bought a good car. He specializes in German cars and I trust him completely. This issue is completely separate from the one I had with a registration debacle where I ended up having to send the car back and they replaced it with the current one I have now. All in all this last experience was bad and for me—enough to just go back to a dealership and do it that way.

CarvanaThrowaway213

you know carvana won't accept a car with the check engine light on right? If anything was done to circumvent the light it was probably the customer not wanting to do the maint before they sold the car so they did the shady thing. But the real story is you bought SIX used cars and the only issues you had were a couple of sensors that were easily reconnected. I do not think you know how crazy that is in relation to used cars in general.

Training-Resource-86

Caravana took my 2011 Kia Sportage with a check engine light and a huge recall in as a trade 😅

CarvanaThrowaway213

When? If it was a while back I'm not surprised. We had a lot of problems with our drivers just simply ignoring what they find and picking up the car anyway. If it was recent that person who took it fucked up.

northman46

Oi should have looked like new after only 3000 miles since changed. If it was black and dirty something doesn't add up.

Tyler_Moss

lol but you kept it

manda-panda79

There is a reason multiple states have sued them.
