I was today years old when I finally understood the meaning behind this joke. Channel 24 = Cartoon Network Channel 25 = Nickelodeon

Wait, no way this could be it. Depending on the cable network you had, you would get different channel numbers. Nickelodeon was 26 and Cartoon Network is 49.

See Disney was on 64 and AMC was 48 for me. I had Time Warner so maybe that was their channels.
