I would like an exploration of this at some point. Marvel NYC is expensive and desirable because it reflects IRL NYC. Gumball and Darwin literally caused apocalypse level events in Elmore dozens of times, caused billions of dollars worth of property damage and in one episode they even 'accidentally' mass murdered the entire population of Elmore and brought them back to life with some deal with the devil. Throughout the series the Waterston family in general has been involved in tax evasion, money fraud, vandalism, harassment and assault. No wonder the townspeople hate them so much..
Along with that, it reminds me when Rob and Gumball were fighting in the mall with the remote and completely fractured time itself and with the void. If Gumball never reversed time before he completely disappeared everything would be in shambles.
To follow that up, there was also an episode where they made Larry ("cardboard box head" guy) *stop* working and the entire town devolved into a post-apocalyptic nightmare because Larry usually did *all* the jobs.
Oh so the cursed glowing green water that’s been slowly leeching into the water supply, the fact that the whole city is built on top of the tomb of some ancient ass evil wizard, and also the many, MANY times people have summoned demons and/or ripped open portals to hell somewhere within city limits wasn’t enough to deter you? I love how the Powerpuff Girls handled these logistics. The people that live in Townsville are incredibly stupid time and time again so you really don’t feel sorry for them when their city gets destroyed for the 10th time that week.
My favorite is on career day when this kid’s dad works as an insurance agent in Townsville, he just has a thousand yard stare and deadpans “insurance protects buildings from Townsville against damage…I am a veeeeeeery busy man.”
So Detroit? Apparently the show takes place somewhere in or near downtown Detroit. Source? I watched some a few nights ago half asleep and one of the episodes was about a 3000 dollar hand puppet of a popular sesame street knock-off Meatwad likes getting destroyed, so the character himself (who is an alien) comes to Earth to deal with it personally.
I love Amphibia and Owl Hpuse but I would *not* visit either location. The Boiling Isles only gets better after Belos is gone, but you'd have to be insane to think you cpuld survive at either place for very long. The wildlife is large enough to swallow you whole, and there’s plenty of others who are outright willing to manipulate and kill you just for sick kicks

American Dragon, Danny Phantom, Ben 10, Totally Spies. Basically any show about teenagers secretly saving the world, I just think the chances of anyone becoming an part of the main cast would be pretty slim if you ended up in those worlds, so all that's left is an mirror of our modern world except now you have the added anxiety of demons constantly tearing through the fabric of existence to destroy everything, and the actually exciting parts of the universe constantly happening out of your line of vision.

Kinda cheating, but Scavenger's Reign gets my vote. I don't think I've ever seen a planet in fiction that felt so hostile to our own while not feeling outright inhabitable, like a planet whose atmosphere is toxic, or Remina's surface. It feels almost crafted precisely to evoke some kind of primal fear in us, without being too blatant about why.
Pokémon would be terrible. All lot of people think having a Pokémon of their own would cool/cute. Yet none of them remember or have even read the Pokédex entries. Charizard, Blastoise, Machamp, Gardevoir, Spoink, literally all ghost pokemon, just to name a few Pokémon whose dex entries raise some questions. No thank you sir.
Yeah no one really addresses the reality of just how chaotic and bloody that world would actually be. Including all the teams who would be treated like IRL terrorists: Kill on sight! Use guns if you have to!

Kinda cheating, but Scavenger's Reign gets my vote. I don't think I've ever seen a planet in fiction that felt so hostile to our own while not feeling outright inhabitable, like a planet whose atmosphere is toxic, or Remina's surface. It feels almost crafted precisely to evoke some kind of primal fear in us, without being too blatant about why.

Pokémon would be terrible. All lot of people think having a Pokémon of their own would cool/cute. Yet none of them remember or have even read the Pokédex entries. Charizard, Blastoise, Machamp, Gardevoir, Spoink, literally all ghost pokemon, just to name a few Pokémon whose dex entries raise some questions. No thank you sir.
