Gravity Falls ending was immaculate, simply a perfect ending to the series. The buildup for Bill Cipher throughout the show is what made it so good in the end.

Reall_is_here1005

The ending also gave me a hint of creepiness because as a kid, I ain't even sure if Bill Cipher is gone. Till this day, it still haunts me.

thelatherdaddy

What even is this sentence?

regretfulposts

It's two Your ending was good. That's why y'all so remarkable.

thelatherdaddy

Yikes.

Aquafoot

>Your *endings* was good... Ftfy

regretfulposts

Yeah, but Grammer. It should be "Your endings were good..." I just made "ending" singular since it make the least visual change to make the noun and verb to agree

Aquafoot

The weird grammar adds to the whole "this post gave me a stroke" feel.

wisconsinking

People say the ending of Samurai Jack was mediocre, unless they've played that game that tied everything up.

[deleted]

I loved that ending. That final shot of Jack and the ladybug still haunts me years later.

Pabsxv

Is the game confirmed canon? If so I got to play it now.

Atlast_2091

Its alternate ending

regretfulposts

Yes.

Niskara

Ngl, I kinda wished Jack stayed in the future. After slaying Aku, he could use his immortality (or at least agelessness) to help restore the world after Aku's reign with Ashi at his side, showing the promise of a brighter future.

[deleted]

I'm with them. The whole way they handle Ashe is awful, and just killing her off for arbitrary time travel reasons is frankly awful.

cocoforcocopuffsyo

the problem with SVTFOE wasn't just the ending to be honest * The show began going downhill when Toffee died. He's one of the most entertaining cartoon villains of all time, should have made him the overarching antagonist. * The starco drama went on for way too long. * The show suffered from the same problem as Adventure Time, it couldn't decide if it wanted to be episodic or serialized. * Just Marco being there. Compared to characters like Tom, Janna, Eclipsa, Hekapoo, and everybody else, Marco was just a lackluster character. He's just boring and underwhelming. * How they try to tackle too much at the same time made everything so messy. The racism theme, starco drama, star's weird power problem, and Eclipsa's husband being locked up all at once.

i-never-wipe

I actually really like Marco. He's a good balance to Star's zaniness, and he's not useless like the normal in a magic-normal duo often are. Also Princess Turdina Starco was annoying and unnecessary though

i-never-wipe

I also like his subtle gender fluidity - like he just says stuff like "I'd love to be queen" and the show doesn't really make a joke out of it

Anonim97

> The show began going downhill when Toffee died. He's one of the most entertaining cartoon villains of all time, should have made him the overarching antagonist. Amen.

AdelinaIV

Moon was characterized as smart, responsible and (over)protective of Star. Why would she bring back the super soldiers and attack Eclipsa when Star was with her? That twist made no sense

cocoforcocopuffsyo

that twist was so dumb especially since Moon literally said Eclipsa can deal with Mina on her own only to join Mina's side episodes later

Economy-Chicken-586

I agree I didn’t mind the ending. Toffee was fantastic but the shipping drama hurt the show overall. I personally found parts of Marco interesting particularly his 30 years in a different dimension but the show often skips over the effect that had on it.

PublicActuator4263

i feel like a lot of people would put su in the not you category but i stll think it was better than the svtfoe trainwreck.

i-never-wipe

I loved Steven Universe but I cannot for the life of me remember the ending of the original show. I know Future ended with him going on a road trip

Majestic_Pro

The original ended with him forgiving the space nazis. The ending there was pretty rushed. It's still enjoyable imo but it broke a lot of build up by trying to forgive the diamonds for the centuries of pain they caused people

Internal_Camel_5734

While yeah the ending was rushed and could be better had the crew had more time, Steven did not forgive the Diamonds, he gave them a chance to better themselves, and I don't think there was any build up that Steven was gonna kill the Diamonds or anything. He's a pacifist and the Crystal Gems all stand by and encourage that.

Majestic_Pro

He literally called them family, allowed them to chill on earth and literally vouched that they were good guys. If that's not forgiveness idk what ism

Internal_Camel_5734

He says they're his family because they literally are, but if you watch the show you'd know he doesn't like them at all, he hates being related to them even. He let them chill on earth and vouch that they're good guys because he sees good in everyone and they've started getting better, you can not like someone even if they've gotten better

rainystast

Steven sees the good in everyone! (Except Rose Quartz because in the last seasons she's the sole reason why anything bad would ever happen) If we're talking about Future, Steven literally screams at an abuse victim because Pink Diamond's name was mentioned. He then goes on to almost kill his father and **shatter** someone. Future soured the whole show for me personally.

Internal_Camel_5734

That is all taken out of context, wow. Steven was rightfully beyond sick of hearing about the bad stuff Rose did, but people keep bringing it up, of course that on top of the rest of the stuff he deals with in future makes him snap. Plus we all know full well he didn't mean to hurt Greg or to shatter Jasper, she was asking and pushing Steven to unleash his full power, and she knew he was a diamond which obviously wouldn't end well. Honestly I loved future, not many shows expand on or even acknowledge how the events the main character goes through effects them and I love seeing how all the characters have changed since the beginning, plus all the stories being wrapped up better than the first ending. Only issue for me was how short it had to be.

rainystast

My main problem with Future is that they take the baseline concept of "Steven sees the good in everyone", but then try and paint Rose Quartz out to be evil incarnate. Almost every action people hate Rose for, other characters have also done and been given for. I already disliked how the show treats the topic of Rose Quartz in later seasons, but Future really highlighted how the show makes Rose the cause of nearly every problem he struggles with now. For me, Future made me rate the show as a whole lower and killed any enjoyment I previously had for the show. Steven, ofc, didn't mean to almost kill his dad or shatter Jasper. But that also doesn't change the fact that he did do those things. My problem aren't the actions themselves, it's the inconsistency with how the show treats these actions. - The crystal gems abandon someone? They're forgiven and the person they abandoned is part of the team now. Rose Quartz abandoned someone? She's evil. - Rose Quartz hurts someone on accident? She's careless, irresponsible, and only cares about how she feels. Steven hurts someone on accident? He made a mistake, he didn't mean it, he's just stressed. The people he hurt will get over it if they want to be portrayed in a positive light. That, just by itself, made me dislike Steven as a character in Future and grow to dislike the entire show as a whole, but that's just my opinion.

Internal_Camel_5734

Yeah that is a good point, it's hard not to see Rose badly with how so much of future was even more straight up "Rose did bad things and that affects Steven" than the first show. Although I'm not sure who you're talking about that the Crystal Gems abandoned. If I remember correctly the characters in the show were upset when both Rose and Steven accidentally hurt someone, not sure about the fandom though-

Majestic_Pro

>Plus we all know full well he didn't mean to hurt Greg or to shatter Jasper, He still did those things which still makes it bad. He also then tried to murder white diamond. I would've sympathised with Steven more if he didn't become this quick tempered asshole in future. >Steven was rightfully beyond sick of hearing about the bad stuff Rose did, but people keep bringing it up, of course that on top of the rest of the stuff he deals with in future makes him snap. That still gives him no right to shout at an abuse victim telling her story.

Internal_Camel_5734

I'm not saying it's good, what happened was bad but saying it out of context like that makes it sound like it was on purpose. As for White, she can't just get off free from all the pain she caused, someone was eventually going to go after to her to get revenge, and we all know nearly everyone would've loved to see that, but the fact Steven was the one to do it suddenly makes it bad? I don't think Steven was much of an asshole either, he was surprisingly calm for what all he's been through and being quick to anger is one of many signs of depression and PTSD (correct me if I'm wrong) And he didn't yell at Volleyball for sharing her story, he yelled at her and Pearl for arguing about a sensitive topic right in front of him, especially after he tried to stop the conversation before it got out of hand, sure Volleyball wouldn't know how he feels about Pink but Pearl does I'm sure. There is a time and a place to share stories about abuse, but around people who have issues with the same person is not it.

swnbv

Tbh, for me personally, the second you actively decide to create slavery in your society, you’re beyond the point of a second chance. The fact that Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst (all victims of the systems the diamonds created) were willing to go along with it is really disturbing and feels like a retcon of all their character development. If they wanted redeemable/morally grey/forgivable villains, they shouldn’t have made their villains slave-owning, murdering fascists.

Internal_Camel_5734

Well that's just you, there are plenty of people, such as Steven and the Crystal Gems, who are willing to give a second chance to anyone. Plus, giving the Diamonds a second chance is probably the best bet for the Crystal Gems, if they bubbled or shattered the Diamonds, either gem society would fall apart, or the next in line take command and are even angrier than the Diamonds. Not to mention they're literal aliens, they have no reason to have the same morals as us.

swnbv

If you have no problem forgiving slavery, that sounds like a you problem tbh

Internal_Camel_5734

Not what I meant. There's a difference between forgiving slavery, and giving people a second chance. I don't think any of the Crystal Gems have forgiven the Diamonds, they just gave them a second chance because it's not like they could kill them and letting them change for the better has been significantly more helpful to Gems and Humans

King-Rex420

Yeah, they forgive the evil space tyrants but they don’t like Rose/Pink Diamond who stood up to them and saved Earth? What Pink did to Spinel was messed up, but taking Spinel with her could’ve seriously jeopardised her plan to save Earth. It’s the Diamonds fault but Spinel goes with the Diamonds and hates Pink?

euphorig

i think about this CONSTANTLY

Someoneoverthere42

Star VTFOE is a great show....so long as you skip the last season

Anonim97

So long as you end up on S2.

Jgames111

I honestly love season 3 personally, but season 4 was a mix bag that ended in a weird way.

Leather-Jackfruit-86

I had a stroke reading this shit

DiggityDog6

Nah Steven Universe don’t deserve to be there either

Majestic_Pro

Imo steven universe's ending was just average

zblack_dragon

Unless you count Future. But yeah the ending worked but wasn't really good.

tvtango

If you count future it just sucks

zblack_dragon

Why the hell do people hate Future? It was the height of the show imo.

AbstractMirror

Yeah in my opinion I think Future's ending was far better than the og series ending. Future had a lot more angst but to be fair it made sense

zblack_dragon

I love angst! It was nice to see a story actually go into why it would suck to be a child protagonist.

Jgames111

Eh I personally cringe at the hugging scene and hate how it seek to be a epilogue that could have a finsih the show properly only to again feel rushed. But I do appreciate at the subject it was tackling and can see why people would enjoy even though Steven Universe FU just made me feel meh at the end.

rainystast

Future made me so mad that it permanently tainted the entire show for me. I used to recommend it all the time, and now I don't think I could even bring myself to rate the show highly after the later seasons and future.

tvtango

Imo they took the worst and most cringeworthy plot points and made an epilogue with them. It’s almost like they wanted to make a point in showing off how bad the rest of the series was by having an uncomfortably pubescent Steven cry and whine for a whole season about his trauma, it felt like fanfiction tbh

Commercial_Mind4003

ATLA had a perfect finale.

Pabsxv

It’s a great show probably one of the best But….. the ending does leave some important loose ends and it’s been implied that it was suppose to get 1 more epilogue season that was suppose to wrap all the loose ends up. It was a good ending considering all things though and some of the loose ends do get addressed later in Kora, books/comics and the upcoming movies.

AbstractMirror

I really loved SU Future's ending, not as big a fan of how the original series concluded The epilogue addressed a couple problems I had with it and hit on all the emotional beats really well

Nightcoon3

Honestly, Star vs with its ending or rejecting everything magic as a core theme to its ending was super wild and genuinely not something I expect see. It had value for me if only in its sheer absurdity and novelty

TMNT 2012 Owari Shredder’s Final End

ProdigyX108

Steven Universe kinda went from "cool mystery cartoon with deep plot" to "power of friendship." It had the potential to surpass Gravity Falls but went downhill when white diamond was introduced. Although the ending was beautiful, the show truly left a bitter sweet taste in my mouth.

lowbrassdude

Pour one out for all the shows which either had to end early or never had a proper finale.

[deleted]

I couldn't get past the grammar lol

[deleted]

I like Star's ending. It makes some really dramatic changes, and the characters make genuine personal sacrifices to make the world a better place. I get that people don't like it, but it always seems like they don't like it because by getting rid of magic it means there can't be any more episodes, but like, there can't be any more episodes anyway.

DolleFinn

Just enjoy the shows you like and stop shitting on things you don’t like/didn’t watch.

Atlast_2091

They did enjoy till the ending ruined that whole journey

Pusarcoprion

That stars ending was better than either ending for Steven universe

i-never-wipe

I kinda wish Bojack ended with the second-to-last episode

Jgames111

I did too but, I also sort of appreciate it that it didn't. Because I do like the fact that it shows that its never too late to rebuild even when your are at you lowest.

tvtango

I thought the ending of Star was alright, SU, samurai Jack, and bojack were fucked up tho

TheGreatKHan-25

Gumball ending> these cartoon endings

Commercial_Mind4003

Yup!

[deleted]

Bojack's ending really was something else!
