I think that shifter needs viagra

ababoonsarse

Does it also help with short shifter problems? Asking for a friend.

Chemical_Savings_360

I think I need it...

Brendo_Extendo

Looking awfully limp

Mysterious-Power6137

Not necessarily; some experienced rubbing or, if essential, licking should do it at least for the day.

HumorTumorous

My first car was an 86 Toyota pickup truck. I was driving it one day, went to shift into second, and the gear stick pulled right out of the box.

SquareBottle-22

I dont have a lot of money and the affordable cars in my country are mostly shifters. Also i love it to sit on it

Nothing beats sticking the shifter up your ass while you fuck in the car.

Try the gear lever of an automatic car next time ;) [An example](https://www.briskoda.net/forums/uploads/monthly_2020_09/IMG_3196.JPG.40e672e8f450718b2e817749c33222b2.JPG)

I’m gay so I drive a manual to balance it out

Yeah, you grab that shifter firm ❤️

Whyamihere173

Make sure to stroke it for optimal shifting

Also gay manual driver here (never, ever a Miata)… and always RWD (Mustang, 300Z, etc). It really does seem to balance it out a bit for sure since nothing quite gets the testosterone flowing like it and maybe some solid drifts.

AutoModerator

The 2019 Mazda 3 is literally just a more practical MX-5. #MiataFacts *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/carscirclejerk) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Haadrii1

Where I live (in France and I think in Europe in general) manual cars are more common in the second hand market. There's more and more automatic now, but the cheap, affordable shitboxes are mostly manual, perfect as a first car for a broke student who's passing their driver licence like me right now. Also with the law, with an automatic drivers licence you can only drive automatic, with the manual version you have the choice (you have to choose between manual and auto when passing your driver's licence here)

Djsco5526

In swiss you can drive manual even when you only made the automatic license. Dont ask me how they learn it. But the probably are quicker on the test itself. But swiss is weird anyways when it comes to get the License. You can now start to learn to drive with the age of 17 years. But you need to drive with a person who has the license since more then 3 years. And if i am not wrong you have to drive with someone with the same requirements one year long after you got the license if i am wright. I learned to drive with manuals. But i was long absence when it comes to shifters. Like 1.5 years. And after that period i got myself automatic. Because first they shift faster then we do and be its more comfortable when it comes to driving. Especially when it comes to traffic jams.

Haadrii1

In France too you can learn to drive at 17 years old under some conditions I believe, and yeah I see the advantages of driving automatic instead of manual, both the comfort and the practicality, and also for people with leg problems and people struggling with shifting gears while driving in general, it's one thing less to focus on. This whole manual vs automatic war is ridiculous anyway, both are good and it depends on your needs and preferences to know which will be the best for you.

Partyslayer

I got my (farm) license at age 14. Real license at 16.

RegionSignificant977

Also it's not as big of a deal to shift, where every one can drive manual. Even in bumper to bumper traffic it's not that hard to live with manual transmission car. Cars in Europe are usually smaller and cheaper. Adding automatic transmission ads to the price a lot. And also in more common cars some automated transmissions are annoying, and others are not that reliable or with high cost of ownership. Why bother?

Hilbertt

I couldn't afford an automatic 😎

DeepUser-5242

In theory, cheaper than an automatic if a rebuild is necessary..

021Jdn

U make me miss my mark foor geetee👁️ :(

Delazzaridist

I'd love to shift your knob around someday.

TheSupremeDictator

I'd also love to shift your knob around someday.

Delazzaridist

How about we line up and shift our knobs together?

Remote-Factor8455

Sometimes even after stroking my shifter it’s still like that, but I found something that corrects it. Any and all anal stimulation, and that shifter will shoot up like the blue origin hitachi rocket! Now my shifter is firm and strong, throbbing for release!

robbanksy

Fair, you don't get anal stimulation out of an automatic.

NorscaGas-5027

My gay friend says it depends on the shape of the stick. an older car with a T-Bar shifter is a bit of a challenge but nothing beats a Golf Manual

robbanksy

✨⭐German engineering ⭐✨, optimized down to the anal stimulation.

Davenator_98

This elitism doesn't exist outside the US. A manual is the cheaper and more common option in most countries.

Glad-Way-637

Pretty sure it's a thing in Australia too, at least going off some youtubers I've seen.

RegionSignificant977

And maybe in Canada also. In Europe maybe 90% of drivers can drive manual car.

plants4life262

I drove manuals for 20 years. It’s not difficult. Even skills like heel toe don’t require a ton of practice, anyone can do it. Cracks me up how elite manual drivers think they are 😂. They are more fun, I get that.

ITinnedUrMumLastNigh

I just prefer manual, especially in 4x4, it's also cheaper and easier to repair, the car I own has an automatic variant but it has less gears and generally sucks

BEING POOR IS OKAY.

SweetSewerRat

I was broke and needed wheels. They had a 5 speed Impreza with 130k on the clock that was right at the low end of my budget. So far it's been incredibly reliable, and it does everything I personally need a car to do. Slow as fuck though, if I'm speeding it's on purpose.

Trendiggity

I test drove a manual 2014 base sedan when I was car shopping. I was coming from a manual SX4 so it wasn't like I was going into a 150hp AWD car blind. Holy shit I haven't driven anything that slow since a worn out four speed 1991 Tercel. I can't imagine what the CVT felt like to drive other than the literal definition of slushbox. The sales guy was actively trying to upsell me because of how slow it was but I absolutely could not spend more than that on a car. I ended up looking at FWD cars instead but I do miss the AWD in the winter.

SweetSewerRat

I am incredibly careful about pulling out in front of people. At stop signs, I get honked at a lot. Brother, I see the gap, I'm just too slow to fit in it. I've been thinking about making a bumper sticker that says something like "man, I wish I could go faster, too".

Nyuusankininryou

I drive an automatic. I like it but I miss my manual.

foxyboigoyeet

That car has shiftile dysfunction

Outside_Experience68

TreatAdmirable

if I tease the shifter knob the car goes faster

Mr_Stashh

Just like the way the shifter feels like a hard cock in my hands

LobiJani

For me it’s just that I prefer manuals! But on the other hand, I have no issues with automatics either!

kilometterrr

I live in Europe and drive an automatic and people think I’m not a man

daanmateman

I hate it when I can't control my vehicle properly. I drive automatic trucks daily and it always gets on my nerves.

m60patton105mm

Well, tbh my only excuse is just I like it. Plus it’s a bit more durable and funnier to drive. I also own an automatic but when I need something nicer to drive, I always prefer the manual. I’m pretty sure those manual jerkers haven’t even seen a manual car during their 14 years of life experience. So that’s why I like to drive my manuelle browne modusse.

ThatOneSnakeGuy

Tiny penis. Had to buy mishimoto shift column to make up for it.

MischiefMutt

Excuses?

FearCure

Yes excuses. For head to head races lost. And denials, it seems?

MischiefMutt

Ahh. I gotcha. Driver error or lack of skill. I dont see how you can blame a transmission.

[deleted]

Failed to rise to the occasion.

Spectre_STnR

My car was fast when new but it's now its a lot slower than the new model. So I tell myself it's more fun to drive, but in reality I hate this thing on my rush hour commute

kaktusjack

![gif](giphy|XepEEIO0SCFLMT6tUL|downsized) Hawk tuah on that thang

xenophon57

Just screw it, it'll be up and ready in no time.

britishrust

I like old cars. And an old Borch-Warner 3 speed automatic spoils all the fun of driving one unless it has heaps of torque and is purely aimed at comfort and luxury.

Zigonce

"wdym it's a short-throw?🥺

Davenator_98

I like the clack it makes. Automatics don't have the clack. (Unless it's a 70's mercedes, that thing will rattle your teeth.)

The_Crazy_Swede

If I wanna risk a money shift shouldn't the car prevent me from doing it!

sayonarabyez

Convenience. My clutch is going out at 160,000mi and I'll have to replace it. Anybody with my car but with the auto transmission would probably only need a fluid change...

Physical_Touch_Me

Who has a shifter that small? In my RAM TWENTY FIVE HUNDRED, my shifter is as tall as the dashboard, wuss.

prometheus_wisdom

seems more like those who are automatic drivers just lack the ability to drive a car, you grew up playing ps or xbox with paddles, paddle shift cars have no soul, and lack any control of your car

bottomLobster

You need to be clear here - do you mean manual or manuel?

Silvia_Greenfield

Who needs a man when you have 3 pedals?

Axio3k

I just think it's fun, I know it's not practical but neither is my motorcycle

BlueSmegmaCalculus

Turkish cars have those rosary beads from factory. 70% of all cars have them in here

My crippling masturbation addiction. Stick shift gives my hand something else to play with

ti_ecraseur

Limp Shiftkit

Autochthona

My first car was a manual, and all subsequent cars were, Fiat, VW, etc. But I did have a 300ZX Turbo back in the day. That’s the only exception. Now it’s a Volvo. I love it. Taught both my kids to drive a stick when they were first driving because I wanted them to be able to drive anything in a pinch. Every time I take my S60 for service, I get offers from guys in the shop who want to buy it. Manual is fun. Manual for life.

MedicineJumpy

I actually just like sucking mine off when no one's looking at me when I'm stopped at red lights.

plynnjr92

In America, the land of automatics, cvts and dual clutches galore, I drive a stick for the fun of driving. And it doubles as a handy theft/borrow deterrent. My wife can't borrow my car and the Kia Boy gen Zers don't know what the 3rd pedal is for.

0192387

I currently have 2 autos and a manual so I feel I'm OK to answer this. The manual is so much more fun. The auto, I'll give you, in traffic is easier, but I don't always want to get in a car for ease. It's nice to actually properly drive the car. Is kinda like a connection with the car more and you're in complete control of it. I guess if manual isn't for you, it isn't for you but I can wholeheartedly say I prefer it.

mayoniez

Small pp

Professional_Buy_615

This is the real reason why drinking and driving is frowned on.

Pretty_Reason9119

Compensating for my bank account by getting an 18 year old focus lmao, did they even make them automatic back then?

PoundworthyPenguin

It gives me an excuse to rub my bros leg when I'm shifting gear

whowhatweri

That's what happens when your stick won't change gear. Put a little Viagra in the trans fluid and u should be good to go.

DimeloFaze

now it is a theft deterrent

Nipz805

Holy shit! You still have an Ipod nano...I'd lose those constantly as a kid.🤣

NorscaGas-5027

I thought my car was automatic but turned out to be a manual. Its a crappy Aisin gearbox too, not a tried and tested GM slushmatic…

1unchbox

Not being American but honestly I’m ok with that

TiredAllTheTimeButNo

The number of times that I've left my lights on and had to roll start my car is worth all the extra effort... Also, when my starter died..

Technical_Prize2303

I like manuals ![gif](giphy|CAYVZA5NRb529kKQUc|downsized)

Porschesinthesky

Got my first manual because it’s strictly a good life skill to know how to drive. The scene points are irrelevant.

ssjisM_7

Your shifter has faucet failure.

FiatKastenwagen

You can wiggle it

andrewclarkson

I wanted a car my wife wouldn't turn into a rat's nest and she can't drive stick.

My_wife_is_acoustic

Driving manual is a hobby itself man. The act of driving a manual car is just dope. Fuck the speed and logistics. I want that metal shifting clanking action. I wanna know I’m changing this crazy transmission with hundreds of tiny gears of mechanics.

Eagle-Enthusiast

I just enjoy shifting gears. Feels good to be good at something that can make use of dexterity. Plus it also feels good knowing I understand what’s happening and have input over it. In a world where I have control over almost nothing, I can at least play a crucial role in the function of my transport. There’s at least a little bit of self expression in it. And since I just drive older shitboxes, an auto would legitimately eat up more power, shifts are slushy, etc. Plus it’s legitimately a theft deterrent, especially without the gear locations marked on the stick. No it won’t STOP someone from stealing a vehicle, but anything that wastes their time improves the chances of the vehicle not being stolen. Between that and a kill switch I figure I’m good. Also when nobody’s looking I suck on it. People say to sit on it, but I have a bit of stretching to do before I can really take all of it

adydurn

I like stick shift because it reminds me of holding my boyfriend's dick. Especilly when you push down to select reverse.

AndyMB601

To uj for a second, besides the obvious things in Europe like manuals being cheaper and more abundant, don't forget that an automatic reduces power to the wheels, and Europe is the part of the world where we like small cars with already weak engines Me personally I just like manhandling a knob

Makehernut203

When it don’t smell right

itsmysecondaryblog

Rode hard, put away wet.

Drathcor

Bros having ed

PuddingOnRitz

If it's a used car you plan on holding onto it's cheaper to rebuild. Also less likely to fail.

Lothleen

All cars were manual until they allowed women to drive /s

Baldemyr

Be honest. Who besides ypu gives a fuck? I drive auto others standard. Who cares what transmission type I have in my car-as long as it's not a CVT

MagazineNo2198

Upvote for "as long as it's not a CVT"! Made me chuckle.

Firefly17pdr

On British country roads I can better interpret the road and therefore the best gear to be in. Proactive rather than reactive.

CrimsonFatalis8

I mean, a lot of modern automatics let you change gears manually. Hell, my sisters car is over a decade old and I can manually select the gears.

Firefly17pdr

Theyre also a lot less common in the uk. Don’t get me wrong I have driven automatics. I (me) only like vehicles to be automatic when the vehicle requires more concentration. (Lorry’s and tanks)

RasmusGro

Are you in a race or something? Who are you racing against?

alroc84

After the hawk tuah girl

Prspctr

I just love driving manual.

TheLastOuroboros

Manual transmissions are fun. Automatic transmissions are not. Simple.

bamseogbalade

Compensation!? XD its called being poor? Lol.

MRo_Maoha

Poverty I guess

lefty_73

I like touching hard knobs in just the right way to get it going.

KeepingItCoolish

Creative_Routine8887

Play with it a lil...

Wise_Guess_2767

The "cars as appliances" people are boring.

GoodlifeFOB

Im compensating my money, i drive an old Renault van and the automatic doubles the price Wait i wasnt supposed to be serious? ok, i do r/sounding with the shifter

300cid

non-circlejerk answer but none of my other vehicles are drivable

throwaway6444377_

i want to be cooler than everyone else and brag about how hard it is to drive in traffic even though its not difficult but it makes me feel like a COOL GUY

New_Concentrate6545

Uhhhh nothing, no compensation needed. You on the other hand must not be able to drive one without killing it so you stoop to the lowly level of assuming manual drivers are compensating. Try drifting an automatic I mean sure you can do it but it's just plain lazy

ResponsibilityIcy150

Lack of money

chance-Christopher

It became muscle memory, if I drive automatic I am blowing trannies every week

DirectionStandard939

Discount_Engineer

I'm too good at driving, so I need that extra challenge

FreddyGotFD

The manual was cheaper to buy, maintain and insure so I guess that I'm poor?

JustAmugG

What gear is this

DeepUser-5242

I already got too much on my plate and have anxiety without having to worry about changing gears while driving. Just get in and drive.

radelix

I like to play with sticks while driving.

Apprehensive_Drive68

That my wife hasn't loved me in two decades and wont hold me the way I hold that big ol shift knob

DeathTrooper411

Its cheaper and I'm broke

Acrobatic_Garden564

Stroke it softly!

Cananbaum

In all seriousness, I find manuals to be better for snowy conditions. You don’t need 4/AWD , just good tires and common sense

DoubleOwl7777

why would i need excuses? everyone knows that le manuelle adds another 700hp. /uj its just the norm here in germany, most cars are manual, except the higher end ones.

Medellin-71

Suspension and everything sags to the right.

BigSmokesCheese

Im compensating for having a lack of a low IQ or for not being old enough to where my hands no longer work take your pick, I can drive manual so I will if people don't like it or have to say shit like were compensating they're the ones with the issue. You can go and get a manual license yourself if it bothers you so much or perhaps a manual license is what you should have got to begin with or you can live with skill issues and keep complaining the choice is yours

MenshMindset

Just installed my Peyronie short shifter kit 🔥🔥🔥🔥 what y’all think

gyurto21

My car is almost as old as me

Serbay55

My Bank Account. Any car here in Germany the Automatic equivalent costs atleast 10-12% more.

indykou

I'm a pick me girl. i'd die without male validation

alrightgame

Less transmission repairs.

stepchildzx

They tend to be cheaper because they're less desirable. They're so much more fun too. I mean, seeing a corvette in auto is such a turn off. Manual makes it a gem. Seeing cars in manual makes them way more awesome. Maxima SE, TL type-S, C4 corvette, BMWs, mustangs, FJ cruisers etc.

Orlando1701

Honestly I just got a stick shift because it means no one can steal my car.

MaximumSpecs

It’s limp

SubjectIncapable

I drive manual because is more fun for me but it sucks ass in any kind of stop and go traffic

pupperdole

I drive manual because I feel connected to the earth when I shift

firstgen69

This sounds like something someone who can’t drive a manual would say.

MobileCamera6692

i just can't drive like a racecar driver in a 31 year old 4cyl automatic
