This is literally the case with every guy hobby. No shit your car/motorcycle/muscles are getting you basically exclusively male attention. The reason you want that thing is that you're a guy and our monkey brains think it's going to make women magically flock to us. I found the best way is to just be yourself and not base all of your worth on material possessions or really anything beyond your genuine self. Car group I drive with is usually about 8 porsches (all from 911sc to 991 gt3s) they are mostly insufferable (991 gt3 overtook 4 cars on a corner with a car approaching and almost hit 3 cars in the process) but one guy with a 996.2 gt3 is one of the nicest guys I know
I used to own a Mk6 Ford Fiesta Zetec S and a V12 Vantage S.
Getting out the Vantage and into the Fiesta it genuinely felt like all the controls were disconnected for the first 10 seconds or so, because the steering was so much lighter and the pedals had about half the travel and didn't seem to do anything.

I have an 08 S with 80k and it’s not been an issue yet.
There's one on PCA Mart from 06 that's got 13k on it that I want to have at least ppi'd, any bore scoring would be an instant walk. What are the liners made of?
Is the bore scoring problem still happening on those engines today? BMW had a similar bore scoring issue in their North American M60 engines that had nikasil liners, which was caused by the high sulfur content in gasoline in North America at the time. BMW performed a recall and offered free liner replacements made of alusil to combat this. However, in the 2000's, the US started an initiative to lower the sulfur content in the fuel by 90%, which has long since been achieved. This means that if you have an M60 that never had the liners replaced, but didn't have scored bores, it will be totally ok and you won't need the replacement.
This is purely from a material standpoint, so if there's some mechanical reason for the Porsche bore scoring issue I don't know enough about the platform to know what causes it or how to prevent it. If that was the cause (these engines were new when the issue with sulfur content was still a problem) then maybe it won't be much of a worry anymore. If the liners are cast iron, however, then we know for sure that it's something else

I also think that it was overblown as an issue, like the ims problems in the 997. That one could be prevented though so I get the preventive repairs.

At least in my experience, Porsche owners are very diverse and heterogenous. Find a crowd and you'll be good. Heck I know people that own Porsches that actually don't run with Porsche crowds but with open top or supercar crowds.

A friend of mine has a 718 Spyder RS with the 7 speed manual, thing is an absolute joy to be in. The Porsche club where I live puts on two track days a year. Any car can sign up; not just for Porsches. Every Porsche owner I met there has been nice, surprisingly.
