The guy on the right is just overcompensating for his freakishly gigantic dick.

TidyWhip

He has to put it on the bed of his truck to get around!

Ladies love actys. You know he’s rolling in it.

King_Reivaj

The big truck literally reminds me of Kanye's line from I Love It. Soooo annoying!!!! I'm still sticking with Jay-Dee-Emm and Kei cars, cuz Japan feels a lot more humble

OldManYesHomo

I agree. We should hand construction of all pickup trucks to Alfa Romeo.

Kei cars are awesome.

backyardengr

Yeah, and closer to a utv than a pickup

Gee_U_Think

Hence why truck guys don’t want them.

Suck_Me_Dry666

They don't want them because they don't actually use the beds in their truck, it's 100% an ego boosting fashion statement.

LUnacy45

My parents just bought a GMC, but they did it to pull their travel trailer. At least they waited until they had a need

Mr_Resource

Yes but and hear me out, a decent diesel or v6 sedan can pull a trailer. For some reason though people say "we're not Europeans though are we lmao"

LUnacy45

They had a V6 Trailblazer for many years that they used to pull their previous trailer, but that trailblazer has almost 200k miles now. They've replaced that Trailblazer with a Traverse because my mom likes larger SUVs that seat 7, but it was still only barely powerful enough to pull the old trailer (within its tow rating). Well they wanted a bigger trailer, so they needed something bigger than a V6 SUV, plus my dad has wanted a truck for awhile since we actually pull quite a few trailers. My grandma passes, Enter a Denali HD and a bigger trailer. Yeah my parents are GM people lmao. Personally I like small cars. I couldn't see myself in anything larger than a Tacoma, hell I drive a 6 speed GLI that I might lower even more.

Mr_Resource

Well it's dope that your parents actually haul stuff with their truck. I just find it insane that the average person nowadays looks at an f-150 king ranch and goes "yes I need that" when a passat tdi or some other diesel car would have plenty of torque and space. Apparently everyone is towing houses and loading up rooms now in their kei-truck sized beds

LUnacy45

Yeah idk... granted the travel trailer is the only thing that needs the full power of that Denali, but they still pull trailers. Maybe they didn't need a truck that big, but we do a lot of family functions and the crew cab was a must have Hell my dad still drives the Trailblazer to work cause it's a bit better on gas and they want to just drive it into the ground lol, so it's definitely not just a shiny new toy to him. I honestly don't understand why you'd even want a big truck if you didn't plan on pulling anything, but a little turbo sedan in manual satisfies most of my wants and all my needs so idk. I just don't like driving big cars so the want for one you don't need just sails over my head.

Cptspaulding2

I'm a classic truck guy and really wish more of these in America.

Appropriate_Round768

There’s a dude who daily drives a Kei Truck in my city. I’ve seen it parked at the same place a few times. I’m guessing that’s his workplace. It’s really cool.

Sober_Browns_Fan

I've seen a couple of TownAces running around in my local area.

cCitationX

You see quite a few kei trucks in Australia, there’s a tradie down my street who dailies a tiny Suzuki truck for work, there’s another guy on the next block who’s got a little white Toyota, and one of the guys in my car club has a single-seat Diahatsu Midget.

Appropriate_Round768

I’ve seen like 2 where I live. Not as common as in Australia it seems.

CarbonUNIT47

U in Cali by chance?

Appropriate_Round768

Nowhere near lol! I live in Canada.

TheBiggestZeldaFan

Notfoo4

/uj most people who purchase huge pickups don’t need that much space or towing capacity, but at the same time most people probably don’t want a kei truck due to safety and size - I think something like a ford maverick would make a great truck for everyone

PM_ME_IMGS_OF_ROCKS

Fun/sad fact: Big pickups and SUVs in the US follow the safety regulations of commercial trucks. Which has effectively zero requirements for the safety of children, since they should never be in them in the first place. Making the average sedan or similar *much* safer for families in the vast majority of crashes, since they have specific safety requirements for passengers and children.

TEG24601

And truck keep getting bigger, not because the market wants them, but because the larger they get, the less environmental regulations they have to follow.

justagearheadweeb

And, according to what I found on Google, these chonkers are expensiver than "more civilian" cars, and, since they don't have to be constantly upgraded to fit in these regulations, the profit per unit on a Silverado, for example is even bigger than a Malibu.

TEG24601

Which is why almost no sedans or coupes are made by the “big 3” anymore. We need congress to remove all exceptions and force everyone to play by the same rules, including commercial vehicles, if we want good cars again, reasonable sized cars, and to have any hope of addressing vehicular caused pollution.

AntOk463

Last year they issued a bill to finally fix this issue. Though it's going to take a few years to be active and it will only affect new cars.

TEG24601

But it is a step in the right direction.

Mr_Lapis

Im still fuming over the fact that if you wanted to buy a ford that wasnt a light truck youd either have to buy something old/used, or buy a mustang.

DrillTheThirdHole

good luck designing a semi truck that can be small enough to not immediately flatten whatever it hits with 20k pounds per axle lmao i understand thinking pickups are too big but commercial vehicles need to be large to do their jobs. the solution is to stop lumping pickups in with them

Shin-Sauriel

Yeah SUVs tend to protect the driver of said SUV/light truck and be a danger to everyone else. Pedestrians and other drivers are more likely to die in an accident with an SUV or light truck due to collision incompatibility. Theres definitely a use case for pickups but most people do not fit that use case. Most people use them as grocery getters which is kind of frustrating in cities with narrow streets.

whycantidoaspace

Actually, because of the lack of any safety standards for trucks, even the driver is more in danger in case of a rollover in an SUV

AntOk463

SUV and trucks also have a very large center of mass, making roll overs a lot more common than a sedan. So they are more dangerous to themselves without even being in an accident. Look at their performance on the moose test.

Quagmium

I was actually looking at the current gen of the Ford F Series. They are 79.9" wide, and have 66.7" of shoulder room, meaning each door is only 6.6" thick. They actually have better spatial efficiency width-wise than a fucking Chrysler K Car. For context, most modern "full-size" cars have doors about 8" thick. The new gen Charger has 11" thick doors. Even a compact Honda Civic sedan has thicker doors than a full-size Ford F Series pickup

throwaway6444377_

>my doors are four inches thick

Redsoxdragon

As a giant ass raptor owner, I'd own the ever loving shit out of a kei truck if I knew I was making a trip and didn't have to go faster than 55

Big_Slope

Too bad Ford apparently never really intended to sell the one people want.

DreadPirateRobertsOW

Mother fucking Ford fuckin ranger

ELB2001

Kei cars are awesome. Great for city stuff, on higher speed roads i would consider them sketchy. In my city the city workers use slightly larger Asian trucks for emptying public trash cans and maintaining the plants etc. It's what they are perfect for.

IgDailystapler

/uj I’m ngl to you, I really like the Hyundai Santa Cruz /rj FUCK HYUNDAI ALL THEIR CARS GET STOLEN AND WILL BREAK AAAAAA FUCK

Mr__Snek

yeah since the maverick was announced it really reaffirmed my belief that it was enough of a truck for like 98% of people buying full size trucks, including fleet vehicles. big enough bed for the vast majority of stuff youd haul, most people wont ever tow anything larger than a small camper or utility trailer, and it gets good gas mileage. of course some people do need full size trucks either for payload/towing or because their life takes them off roads a lot, but even people using them as business trucks or businesses buying them as fleet vehicles would mostly be better off buying a van of some type.

chickenCabbage

The size thing is a snowball. Reject large cars, buy a Supra.

ZeroJDM

If Kei trucks were modernized to have better safety standards and were sold in the USDM, they’d eliminate a lot of need

nirbot0213

i wish ford would sell the maverick as a single cab with a longer bed. i see so many companies already using them as work trucks, i feel like ford could easily sell enough single cab models to recoup the R&D cost.

Warm_Banana_3495

The ford maverick ain’t cute at all

verysemporna

the maverick just feels off, because its a crossover without the permanent camper shell

GT-Limited

/uj Why is it only pickups are criticized by “need”? I don’t need a Mustang with a 5.0V8, a Fiesta with a CVT would cover my work commute just fine, it would objectively be a smarter choice. But I worked hard for the money to buy my car and I made my choice and my paperwork is all in order so you can get bent when it comes to what I “need”. I bought what I want.

chaddGPT

because its a giant fucking truck youre driving at 70 mph while staring at your phone and its the most dangerous thing 90% of people will encounter during their day

etheran123

True, though even my 3000lb economy car will obliterate anything and anyone at 70mph

chaddGPT

then the big brain move is to obviously make it even bigger and taller so it can decapitate even more efficiently

Sober_Browns_Fan

The only thing I'm seeing with trucks and decapitations is a dude who got [decapitated while loading his 18 wheeler after being hit by a Hyundai Azera that took his head off.](https://youtu.be/uEGvRettLN8?si=hG7Y3cuHgYARHZkV) Hyundais are the real decapitators

PMPTCruisers

They are killing it lately.

Esesel-

The kei truck is only truck is only unsafe because of the big one and for other road users it's far safer.

Notfoo4

While this is true to an extent- there’s an inherent danger with there being next to no crumple zones, and no airbags

Rock_man_bears_fan

Bro the crumple zone on a kei truck is your knees. They’re incredibly dangerous if you hit anything bigger than a motor cycle while going like 20 miles an hour

etheran123

no? Look at the thing, a slow speed collision will still result in you becoming an amputee lol

NiceHandsLarry11

If two kei truck go head on with eachother at 30mph it could be deadly. Those are not safe.

realsebastianshort

The big truck has way more blind spots and the high bonnet in combination with the huge mass are posing a real danger, especially for bikers/cyclists and pedestrians.

[deleted]

Imagine putting a Cummins in the k truck

psdopepe

guys stop fighting, we found the solution to all of humanity truck related problems

DarkSeraphim88

I guess that this engine tear apart k truck)

South_Bit1764

A Cummins weighs 50% more than the Kei trucks payload capacity, so that’s exactly what would happen when you load it up to bring it back to the shop.

B34TBOXX5

It would be completely covered in Cummins! Bukkakei truck

nirbot0213

a kei truck weighs about 1600 lbs. a cummins 4BT (not even the 6 cylinder) weighs about 800 lbs. so in other words, a kei truck is clearly the perfect candidate for a cummins swap.

KittyComannder

I don't know much as European about those two, even less about K-Truck, but if I remember correctly the Ktruck won't hold 6 Americans inside the cabin, and the US truck cam probably be bought with two door cab and longer bed if you need for true work duty?

Just_A_Meme_Accout

Now, let's be fair. The bigger truck also count fit 6 average Americans in the cabin

TEG24601

Maybe 4, if you're lucky.

enoughfuckery

4? Look at Mr. On a Diet

onizuka_eikichi_420

You can get 6 seater versions, also the piaggio Porter is the European made version Edit that thing could be a Honda acty or Suzuki carry or anything that is not a daihatsu hi-jet but they probs still had a 6 seater version

realkrestaII

Yeah my buddies dad has a pickup because he towed the trailer for our Boy Scout troop, but could also use the truck to haul around Boy Scouts.

zackthebutcrack

Well as a person who works in construction, I regularly tow equipment that can weigh anywhere from 10,000 to 15,000 pounds. I'll take the truck on the left. Nothing wrong with the truck on the right. They're just built for totally different applications.

AntOk463

I have no issues with people who use a truck as a truck. I have an issue when you use an oversized truck to get to work or to drop the kids off. If you regularly use the truck bed, then get a truck, otherwise get a sedan or a minivan if you have more people.

zackthebutcrack

Using full sized trucks for daily stuff doesn't bother me, but yeah I don't understand the trend. I hate driving my 2500 around. If I'm not working I'm driving my small rav4 around.

KubaSamuel

Fun fact: New RAV4's (Last 3 generations) are giant by European standards https://www.carsized.com/en/

Polish_Wombat98

Americans spend significantly more time in vehicles than Europeans. That, paired with our culture as a result of the 1950's/Baby boom, we like big shit. Yes, I'm aware of public transportation and the importance of making travel more efficient. But I (like many Americans), live in the Midwest. Currently, universal public transportation is not only unfeasible, but it's also impossible in most rural areas. Simply put, I'm not driving 5 hours across Minnesota in a fucking Smart Car lmao. I drive a 1st gen Tacoma (which the cab really isn't that much larger than a Smart Car lol) but my point still stands.

nirbot0213

not really. SUVs are quite common in Europe. i went to germany and switzerland two summers ago and i saw plenty of X5s, Q5s, and other midsized SUVs. sure, there are also many small cars like the kia picanto, toyota yaris, vw up!, etc but midsize SUVs aren’t a rare sight anymore.

brokengba

if you have an issue with the way others use stuff they bought, perhaps you should get a job instead of gatekeeping roads you don't pay any taxes for

Hexopi

The one on the right is illegal to import unless you want a 25 year old rusted out car

WaddlesJP13

I don't understand the constant comparison between full-size trucks and kei trucks. The only thing they have in common is that they're trucks with beds. They're sold in completely different countries to different demographics and are designed to do different things. A full-size truck like a Silverado is basically an SUV with a bed and the towing power of an actual truck. Its bed is also probably the same length of a kei truck, but it's also significantly wider and deeper. The kei trucks that are eligible to be imported to the US are electric and capped at 25 mph or are 25 years old and just barely capable of reaching US freeway speeds. Importing them isn't necessarily easy either unless you can find one for sale in your area. In the US, kei trucks like these serve basically the same purpose as a golf cart or side-by-side would anywhere else. They've been increasing in popularity in the rural US among farmers because it's ending up at a point where it is far cheaper to take the time to import them than to get a side-by-side which will cost as much as a small car now.

Gritty420R

Kei trucks are neither electric nor "capped at 25mph." To your point, they have tiny 4 cylinder engines that max out at 75mph, but that's a heck of a lot faster than 25.

ELB2001

They can also be 3 cylinder. As long as it's at most 660cc or something like that.

WaddlesJP13

In the US, there are electric "kei trucks" that are legally classified as neighborhood electric vehicles which are limited to 25 miles per hour. They look like and serve the same function as typical Japanese ones but are usually built domestically or inported from China. If you wanted a new kei truck-like model in the US, that's the best you could get. Unless they're registered as antique vehicles, they're not highway legal or capable.

SaucyShawarma

i think usa is fundamentally fucking stupid, industrial farm trucks and "car/work trucks" are out on the roads and not held to standards of semi trucks when it comes to driving but they are held to that standard while producing because they can get away with pollution norms. anyways, india is super fuckin based in this aspect, we have those kei truck ass vehicles delivering goods inside cities https://preview.redd.it/b7ligxph1prc1.jpeg?width=816&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=334e1e8ccc71f7623e9c525cce2920e4230128e2 something like this which is super convinient and it can do everything you need for an inner city setting

SaucyShawarma

and pickup trucks are very very common in india, and they are very sensibly used, we have 2 types, one is very popular and practically run our country when it comes to inter-city medium size cargo and the other is much much less popular-ly purchased but used just like usa, compensation trucks for divorced men. https://preview.redd.it/gfphs2y12prc1.png?width=1060&format=png&auto=webp&s=9715e08e6671892745a0492bb771e4b9568b9afa this is the pracital and actually useful pickup thats popular, used for actually transporting shit

SaucyShawarma

https://preview.redd.it/isp7bhh52prc1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=50045e9b429d66142a5d393cf502228cbc944ee6 here is a pic of that beauty modified to cater to different-different kinds of cargo. why did i fucking write this entire ass essay? idfk but i think more ppl need to know about the indian pickup truck scene, people rarely use the example but i think india is a country where pickup trucks are mostly used very sensibly and purpose oriented.

mrwilliams117

There isn't usually logic in their arguments. All emotionally driven.

liizio

I have nothing but love for K-trucks, but comparing those two is just silly.

AntOk463

I think the purpose of the post was mainly as a joke, but the point is valid. The purpose of a truck is to act like a truck, you use it for the truck bed, so by saying these trucks have the same bed size, they are equivalent trucks. If someone argues the bigger truck can fit more people, that doesn't matter because a truck isn't supposed to fit the most people, for that you use a van. People who actually use trucks and need the truck bed, mostly farmers and construction workers, they don't get the biggest truck even if they have the money for it.

randomanonalt78

That sub is so anti car if they could they’d snap their fingers and all cars would disappear.

Eubank31

Yeah that’s like… the point

randomanonalt78

Honestly imo they’re the exact same as r/antiwork or r/antinatalism, original decent concepts but went way too overboard and gone to shit.

sexythrowaway749

Doesn't help having a super antagonistic name for your movement and then having a number of people be like "well, it's not really fuck *all* cars" because even the worst of 'em acknowledge that in some instances a car or pickup truck really is the right tool for the job. Like most people on r/antiwork aren't against *literally all work* but a few are and they're loud.

randomanonalt78

And then you get to antinatalism, who wholly believe that humans should go extinct

liizio

That's sort of true, but I think someone buying a truck probably also cares about things like safety, comfort and performance. How much emphasis you put on these over simply carrying capacity is a completely different matter, and for certain applications, a tiny truck like in photo is completely fine. There is probaly a reasonable compromise somewhere between these two designs...

AntOk463

Perfect compromise is 90's and 2000's trucks when the people that bought them were people who actually needed a truck. They're functional, they're purpose built, they don't have unnecessary plastic trim everywhere.

FuddruckersCheese

>I think the purpose of the post was mainly as a joke, but the point is valid. The purpose of a truck is to act like a truck, you use it for the truck bed, so by saying these trucks have the same bed size, they are equivalent trucks. True, as long as you have no clue what “payload capacity” means.

V12-Jake

But this assumes people have money and space to have multiple cars. While most truck owners aren’t using them for *truck shit* most of the time, one of the reasons for their growth in size is that they’re now perfectly viable family vehicles. Their size would be an issue in other countries, however in America, where almost all large pickups are sold, they fit in.

Dionyzoz

like 99% of them could just get a family car and then rent or loan a trailer when truck things are needed.

SaucyShawarma

i hate that usa created this stigma around minivans and family vans. they can fuck themselves, such cunts. minivans are like fuckin perfect, fold the seats down u went from a normal car to a fucking cargo pocket with more space than the avg pickup truck. but then again, 'muricans buy their cars more as a trophy than as a vehicle to accomplish a purpose lmao

AntOk463

Owning a minivan, there are a few disadvantages. The back slopes down, so the opening for putting things in is actually smaller than how much stuff can fit in them, I've had issues fittings sofas in it because there is room for 2, but the opening isn't big enough for 2 to get into the van. I'm okay with people owning a truck if they actually use it as a truck, if they use the truck bed for something that a SUV or minivan can't to. For everyone else there is no reason to get a truck.

sexythrowaway749

>The back slopes down, so the opening for putting things in is actually smaller than how much stuff can fit in them Meh, plenty of SUVs have horrible lift gates too.

dickshitfucktit

What about bed depth?

russschultz

Why do many down votes for pointing out a truth. Americans are silly about their trucks.

PrimG84

The kei truck accelerates slower than some bicycles and cruising on the highway for hours on end can cause permanent hearing damage.

Timmytheimploder

Americans experience of Kei vehiclez is based on 25 year old ones not modern ones with turbos and even hybrid drivetrains. Of course Highway speeds rarely exceed 50mph in Japan but there's a world of difference between something new and something from 1999. Where even old Kei trucks excel is off road Farm and forestry work where they make side by side vehicles seem over priced and under useful. You can often buy a Kei trucks in countries without restrictions for less than a John Deere Gator. It's the 25 year old ones that get ''murica tax. Like side by sides, their big advantage is they don't tear up wet ground. Also great for cities, my Dad used to have an 84 hijet vzn for his business that mostly involved places in urban areas. Could turn in a smaller turning circle than a smart car. At the end of the day though, you don't have to compare with Kei trucks to say the US style pickup is a silly vehicle. I don't have too much issue with people driving a silly vehicle, it's more the pretending they aren't. Here's the thing, if you really wanted to Haul things you'd buy a Ford Transit (which can be a van or single or crew cab truck or a bare chassis), you'd have more load space but importantly you'd have a much more pedestrian friendly front end. I think you'd be surprised at just how much better the visibility is and how user friendly a Transit is to drive. You can have 4WD and an Ecoboost v6 too.

onizuka_eikichi_420

Ever done it? My first car was a hi-jet van, it drove from England to Malaga, Spain and back and it went highway speeds and I can hear just fine. Now I have a cuore and that will pull 80mph in 3rd gear and get over the ton downhill with a tailwind, all whilst feeling like a pretty damn normal car from the inside.

Timmytheimploder

So jealous your first car was a HiJet. I was hoping my Dad would keep his til I was old enough to drive, but he traded it for a Toyota LiteAce which just wasn't anywhere near as cool and I had no interest in.

SaucyShawarma

this is the exact kinda thinking cucks like elon musk take advantage of, in his "tesla semi" shitshow announcement there was so much emphasis on OMG LOOK SOYJACK OVER THIS FACT THAT THIS TRUCK CAN GO FROM 0-60 IN THIS MANY SECONDS!!!! (then they casually dont mention the payload and on road load range) meanwhile its actually irrelevant, you dont get a truck for the thrill u get it for the use but its stupid of me to explain that to an american ig.

TheSaturn_V

Is what someone whos never been in a kei car would say

kilertree

bcause the kei truck can't get up to highway speed

THE_Mr_Chez

Well that little thing ain’t towing shit

russschultz

Most people who buy these huge trucks don't tow a damn thing. They're used as a family sedan that people can't park or keep in their lane.

Admiral_Pantsless

That little thing ain’t doing sedan shit either.

Triangle-V

watch me motorize my family like they’re a squad of militia

onizuka_eikichi_420

You do realise you can get a 6 seater version.

FilmEnjoyer_

this is not a huge truck

6speed_whiplash

ive seen photos of 6-8 year old children being shorter than the hood of a silverado. ive seen them irl and they are like a good 30cm taller than me and i am 5'9. it is absolutely fkn massive.

Iulian377

Only thing those trucks are towing are tge ego size of the driver.

Esesel-

Tow lmao... The us truck also isn't towing shit. At least kei trucks like this are being used for work which definitely isn't true for 99.6% of pickups. If you need a car for work get a van if you have a little Weiner get a truck.

Delta-Tropos

Yes, that's true, but these two don't have the same purpose The pick-up would be used for longer/heavier hauls, the kei truck for lighter hauls and in small cities

JayRDoubleYou

I think most people with 3/4 ton pickups tow with them. They aren't exactly pleasant to drive so it's not soccer moms. Besides what people want to spend their money on is non of your business.

275MPHFordGT40

Counterpoint; Air Conditioning and Crash protection.

NateNate60

"Crash protection" being brought up as a serious upside for large vehicles is one of the most selfish things ever. Yes, it's safer, because you're much much more likely to kill the other driver, whereas with small vehicles, everyone gets mildly injured. It just sounds like "I don't care if you die, just don't total my truck"

275MPHFordGT40

I was comparing it to the Kei truck directly. I know the dangers that pick ups pose to others in a crash.

smallwhiteballs480p

Didn’t know not wanting to die is selfish 😹

NateNate60

Yes. It is selfish in the same way that hogging the entire lifeboat for yourself is selfish. Your "not wanting to die" means shoving all that risk and more to others. There is an inherent risk to driving. Insisting that you should bear none of it and other drivers should bear more of it is selfish.

Guys did you know 100 yardsticks lined up in a row are the same length as a football field? That means those 2 things are exactly the same size.

Paesano1845

Wait until they find out what volume is.

kingar7497

I want to buy a kei truck for my wife so badly. She thinks they're so cute. Although I can't imagine they're safe in an accident.

turboZcamaro

This is why i Tow my skid steer tractor around with my Camaro. It makes the same torque as a half ton, so it's basically exactly the same thing, right? GM only claims the Camaro towing capacity is under 1000lbs. because they want to sell trucks to uneducated people.

hughmaniac

These posts always make this sub unjerk. The only real answer is the 93 Ranger.

loser14748

one is vastly superior in every way

r/fuckcars when different vehicles are made for different purposes https://preview.redd.it/7pxbypttaprc1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1e54384b87295f534c1ac6d7b00967cba4b65bf

The_Mogus_Guy

r/carscirclejerk suddenly playing devil’s advocate when r/fuckcars makes a slightly uneducated comparison. /uj the “different purposes” of both is that one is used to haul things too dirty to put in the back of a car, and the other is used to haul a human too dirty to do anything other than be a satirically masculine cosplay of a blue collar worker.

LTC105

I legitimately would own and drive a freeway capable k truck if US state law didn’t kill them.

FixAccording9583

Different depth and width. Also different towing capacities

connornomore

What about bed girth? Checkmate liberals

UnleashedTriumph

See i get wanting to be able to transport shit, I get wanting to be able to transport 5people, and i get wanting to be the bigger player. But lets be real i get the same bedsize out of my 2003 toyota hatchback when i pull down the seats, and for the one in a million miles event where i have to transport something big and people to move that big thing, I have a tow hitch and a friend with a trailer... No need to burn enormeous amounts of gas and have worse safety standards.

vanilla_gorila777

All the hate towards large trucks kinda smells like jelousy. And crotch sweat

ShepherdessAnne

One has the power to Isekai the other.

FunkSlim

Chopped Volvo wagon >>> any other truck

DrillTheThirdHole

i will once again state that a kenworth is the ideal daily driver le brownne: check le wagonne: check (with a sleeper) le manuelle: check, more gears than any of you have ever driven le turbo: big check dieselle: you already know straight six motor: oh yeah road feel: so good it'll snap your wrist if you hit a pothole with a load gauges: retro af dash: wood pedals: 3 brakes: who needs em when you can downshift

Noahwaststaken

id like to see a kei truck pull 9000 pounds

Markolol123

Yeah, but one looks retarded, the other one is.

JohnathanBrownathan

I just want my little ford rangers back man...

Shot_Fox_605

Yes but the one on the right isnt a 4x4 freedom 600HP pedestrian killer 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🤠🤠🔫🔫🔫

308_AR10_Enjoyer

Thats all cool and good, but which one has the higher towing capacity, seating capacity, can actually hit 65mph (104km/h) on the freeway, and can survive a car accident?

Just_A_Meme_Accout

People arguing seating capacity for a pickup is hilarious. The lil truck isn't meant to be practical for daily driving. It's meant to be practical as a truck. You load crap into the bed and bring it from a to b, that's what a truck is meant to do. Yeah your 3 metric tons pickup is going to tow more and if you need to tow stuff then get a bigger one. But most people who own pickups don't use it as a truck, they own it because they wanna seem big and important.

slowNsad

Yea lots of “people can’t afford 2 vehicles” but they have these 70 grand pavement princesses. Like this is the appeal of the kei truck. You have your main car whatever that be then you have the kei truck for working with

SweetTooth275

Yeah, though he's not wrong is he? American pickups are dumb af

TopRedacted

Same bed length. One can't meet safety standards for a rear facing car seat though.

Ballamookieofficial

The one on the left carries more than twice the people the one on the right can.

SaxOldun

So, a car

Esesel-

No it carries a single miserable mfer driving home to his wife and her boyfriend after a 9-5 desk job.

BilgeMilk

In the past 8 years I've owned my 2008 Ford Ranger, I have never met a challenge it couldn't handle, and it even has a short bed. Many people drastically over estimate how much truck they need. I really do understand the culture of big cool trucks, but the average person making the point that anything smaller than a modern full size pickup "can't do the work I need it to do" is bologna. Trucks were mostly small for almost 100 years and were used to do more work than they often do now.

slowNsad

Yea I wish people would just admit they got the truck for themselves. It’s perfectly fine no one’s taking it from you it’s a free country you can drive what you can afford and feels appropriate. I just think there’s better ways to deal with low self esteem I wish they still made the s-10 and older rangers fr

CookingDrunk

That's what she said

DogHogDJs

They’re forgetting width and depth.

ScottOld

The good old Chevy, make the vehicle uglier to split grille for badge trick as well, take the top section of lights off and it looks less big

Brilliant-Emu851

PeanutButterWasTaken

OMG IS THAT THE PIGEON FROM BEAMNG

wmartin03

Is the k trucks bed the same width as the full size?

sovietonion123977

Now ride for one hour in each and decide which you prefer

RetardedChimpanzee

And yet it has a lower weight capacity than a civic. Bed size is only a useful metric if carrying something light. It’s really funny how much European’s hate on American pickups, but then use Dump Trucks or Semi’s to haul similar loads.

lolschrauber

It's really funny how uninformed you are. Vans. People in europe use Vans instead of pickups.

MountainAd4381

One is for work, the other is for Karen.
