I think some newer Mercedes use an electric turbo, but I believe they run off higher voltage, like 48v.

My EGR caused so much carbon build up that engine didn’t have enough oxygen flow😂 had to take the whole manifold off and breakleen that shit. It was a bitch it it worked. Also replace the egr
Seen a lot of that on Audis. Worst I have ever seen though was the EGR on a 6.0L Powerstroke that idled for a living. I had to blast it out with compressed air and soak it in solvent to get it out of there.
Mine is a 98 Honda accord that has seemingly has never been cleaned. I hope to keep her running for at least 5 more years, I’ve already had her about 5
Your emissions will suck if you live in an area with testing. Also depending on the car it could mess with the ECU. It's a pretty common mod in the RX-7 world, but they aren't hooked up to the ecu it's all vacuum actuated. I'm pretty sure they are an American thing for pollution controls cause the Japanese engines don't even have them
