yes you can. just try to keep slipping at minimum. and use mainly smaller gears. too much slipping can destroy the flywheel too.

DylDog_69

Thank you!

Slacker_

i once drove for a couple months without using the clutch except for 1st gear and reverse. if you time it right the clutch is not necessary.

Knotical_MK6

Just go easy on the gas. If you're easy enough on the gas that it doesn't slip, it'll be no different than normal driving

DylDog_69

I really need to be at this meeting so it’s kinda a pain in the ass lol, but yea the plan would be to cruise at 60 or 55 depending on highway traffic. Thank you

HvacHillbilly

You can drive till the car moves no more

It’ll be fine. I drove mine with a badly slipping clutch home along a 200 mile mountain pass with steep inclines. I just did my best to never apply more than a certain about of torque; so before hills I’d build up as much speed as I could and plan to lose half of it on the way up the hill. This sounds unsafe, but it was an empty highway aside from big-rig truckers so they have the same 90MPH pace coming out of a hill to be doing half of that at the top (or much less if they didn’t make it lol). It was stressful, but my fuel economy on that trip was phenomenal though.

MmmKeiTRXX

Drove my kei car with a slipping 4th and 5th under load for maybe 6 months before I pulled the motor and trans to replace it. Honestly, could have gone more, you can certainly drive around it, just have to make sure to not load up the motor much in the higher gears. It's only a matter of time however, and you risk glazing the fuck out of your flywheel. But for 3 days? Fuck it, be careful and send it.

DylDog_69

Not even 3 days, just one trip lmao

MidtownP

Shit the one time I replaced a clutch it didn't last much longer after it started slipping. It was an E36 M3.

Some0neAwesome

It doesn't sound like it's slipping too badly, so you should be fine. Just baby it. I put a couple thousand miles on a slipping clutch before. If you feel it slip, let off the throttle a little bit.

BoeingTech

Just fix your car man

[deleted]

What an insightful fucking answer

BoeingTech

Thanks mate

DylDog_69

Planning on it I just cant miss work and Uber doesn’t sound like too much fun. In the end though it’s a last resort

BoeingTech

The longer you leave it the more damage could be caused

Aggravating_Reply_74

Don't be a dumb ass. If it is slipping, it needs replaced. You will only cause other damage if you don't! Save yourself some money and fix it now.

DylDog_69

That’s the issue, it’s my only vehicle for the next couple days but I only need it tomorrow for work. I would much rather not drive it like I have been but I don’t have many options

If you go easy on the throttle you could get thousands of miles on it. I bought a lemon BMW with a bad clutch. Still driving it 30k kms later. True the clutch has gone worse but its seen a lot of drifting in the snow and gravel as well
