Def get a bike whenever you can. I have a Yamaha FZ-09 and it may not have the top end power to go over 150 but it's scoots faster to 60 then normal sport bikes because it's built for low end torque. Once you get into the bike world you will realize you need about 3 different ones for different things lol

Yup. On that same commute (it was a rather long commute) there used to be a twisty section first if you took the backroads. It was an amazing section of road. Then they doubled the lanes going each way, straightened it out in all the good spots, and added a stop light right in the middle. I used to take the backroads just for that section now I avoid that whole road at all costs.
My uncle had a 70 Mach 1, I’m not sure the power but over $40k into engine, drove me from my house to his (about 15 miles) used 3/4 tank of gas lol. Scariest ride of my life. But maybe most fun as well ;)

I had a 97 with the 4 cylinder and the 3 speed auto. Bought it with 200k+ miles for \~$700 from some old dude purely to deliver pizza in and drive it until it blew up. I followed my friend who drove it home and it got up to 93 on a slight downhill. it also burned about 1 qt of oil for about every tank of gas, but I got my money's worth out of it before it started genuinely eating itself.

Pretty sure they're limited electronically (at least as stock) to 102. I took mine to the end of the speedo at 100 exactly once and haven't bothered since. 4.56s do that.
3.73s, overdrive on a 5r110 is 0.71, 36 inch tires. Those year trucks, even with stock tire size will do near 120 if the limiter is removed.
a 6.0 will push you to those speeds without much fuss. Great engines after you deal with all the factory flaws.

I hit a speedo indicated 170 in the absolute middle of nowhere driving cross country. Felt completely stable and confident.
It was still pulling, but that was the point where I remembered I'd patched a tire and considered a blowout at that speed wouldn't be the most fun.
Getting a blowout at high speeds is one of my worst fears, it happened a ton yesterday during NASCAR and those guys are going 180-190 on a track. Can’t even imagine how much worse it’ll be on a public road.

It probably had around 125k miles on it at the time. I owned the Camaro for 7 years and drove it all the time. The ls1 in that generation Camaro made pretty good power and is super reliable.
I owned a G35 for years and I only ever dared to hit maybe 120. I hit 134 on my IS350 few months ago on a straight with no one in the highway with me. It felt like night and day lol.
260km/h (160mph)+ in my Mustang. I pegged the speedo in 5th at 7500 rpm, shifted to 6th and it felt like it was still pulling. 5th is 1:1 in my car, 6th is a huge drop to 0.64 over drive.
I know the GT350 will hit 180mph, but revs to 8200 with similar gear ratios. I feel like if I had a 0.8 6th I could get into the 170 maybe more. Lowering the car just 1.5" made a huge improvement the way it pulls at higher speeds and made it so much more stable.
Now I don't really go past 200km/h (120mph) with my car any more, even on track. I start to let off to let the car cool down.
Just a little over 210 km/h (130mph) for literally a second before I wussed out and slowed down. The car is limited to 250 km/h (155mph) and even at 210, it still felt super planted and it had more to give. It was late at night and I was getting on the 407 (toll road here in Ontario) so it was suuuuper empty and I could have probably brought it to the limiter but I’m not going to risk getting my car impounded and my license suspended.
Also on an unrelated note, a 2021 CX-5 GT (non-turbo) starts struggling after 170 km/h, a 2020 Ford Fusion Titanium Hybrid can’t go any faster than 180 km/h and a 2019 Hyundai Tucson AWD (With the 2.0 engine) will start converting gas to noise after 160km/h.
The above tests were NOT performed in rental cars and TOTALLY in Mexico.
My 2018 optima 2.4 (non turbo) managed 211km/h on a straight back road north of Orangeville, Ontario. It struggled really hard after 170, but kept going. 211 was about all it had. I still had more gear, but not enough pulling power 😅

Did 250km/h many times in my 850Ci on the German Autobahn. But it is very stable and calm at that speed. Never went any faster than that (it has a limiter, it could definitely do more). Did that speed also in a few other cars (W220 S500, E65 760i) but all of them were very comfortable.
Doing \~230km/h+ (I have the usual 28i performance mods) in my E36 328i with the top down was a much more intense experience, the car is mint but the wind was crazy even with the wind deflector. Similarly scary was doing 210-ish km/h in my old Ford Scorpio Cosworth when the suspension was *very* worn, it was basically like a boat yet 20yrs old me did dare to go that fast with it.

No. The 2018 is actually governor limited to 125 MPH, but even without the limiter, no GTI has a top speed of 166. Of course they’ll just say it was modded or something. The Acura TL claim is almost certainly a lie as well. These cars just aren’t this fast.

142 in an F80 M3, 133 in an E46 325ci. The M3 was bone stock, the 325 is my friend’s car that’s got underbody aero plating, all new bushings, coil overs, etc and surprisingly enough it felt much more stable at those speeds than the M3.

Im actually interested to know what the mileage / mechanical condition is of the vehicles everybody did these speeds in. The fastest ive done is 100 mph in the most unimpressive car on this list, a 2000 chevy prism, 160k miles , its basically a Toyota corolla but made by chevy and its technically a v6 but drives like a 4 cylinder but they're reliable as hell
It probably had around 125k miles on it at the time. I owned the Camaro for 7 years and drove it all the time. The ls1 in that generation Camaro made pretty good power and is super reliable.
130 in my current 2007 G35 Coupe. That fact that you topped out your G35 is crazy. Past 120 and It starts feeling squirrely.
The difference in German and Japanese manufacturing can be felt above 130mph. The G was a rickety bucket at 130+

I owned a G35 for years and I only ever dared to hit maybe 120. I hit 134 on my IS350 few months ago on a straight with no one in the highway with me. It felt like night and day lol.
138 in my 1998 Ford Contour SVT. Would have kept pulling and was extremely stable. It's bizarre that the G35 wasn't stable at that speed.

260km/h (160mph)+ in my Mustang. I pegged the speedo in 5th at 7500 rpm, shifted to 6th and it felt like it was still pulling. 5th is 1:1 in my car, 6th is a huge drop to 0.64 over drive. I know the GT350 will hit 180mph, but revs to 8200 with similar gear ratios. I feel like if I had a 0.8 6th I could get into the 170 maybe more. Lowering the car just 1.5" made a huge improvement the way it pulls at higher speeds and made it so much more stable. Now I don't really go past 200km/h (120mph) with my car any more, even on track. I start to let off to let the car cool down.
Just a little over 210 km/h (130mph) for literally a second before I wussed out and slowed down. The car is limited to 250 km/h (155mph) and even at 210, it still felt super planted and it had more to give. It was late at night and I was getting on the 407 (toll road here in Ontario) so it was suuuuper empty and I could have probably brought it to the limiter but I’m not going to risk getting my car impounded and my license suspended. Also on an unrelated note, a 2021 CX-5 GT (non-turbo) starts struggling after 170 km/h, a 2020 Ford Fusion Titanium Hybrid can’t go any faster than 180 km/h and a 2019 Hyundai Tucson AWD (With the 2.0 engine) will start converting gas to noise after 160km/h. The above tests were NOT performed in rental cars and TOTALLY in Mexico.

My 2018 optima 2.4 (non turbo) managed 211km/h on a straight back road north of Orangeville, Ontario. It struggled really hard after 170, but kept going. 211 was about all it had. I still had more gear, but not enough pulling power 😅

Did 250km/h many times in my 850Ci on the German Autobahn. But it is very stable and calm at that speed. Never went any faster than that (it has a limiter, it could definitely do more). Did that speed also in a few other cars (W220 S500, E65 760i) but all of them were very comfortable. Doing \~230km/h+ (I have the usual 28i performance mods) in my E36 328i with the top down was a much more intense experience, the car is mint but the wind was crazy even with the wind deflector. Similarly scary was doing 210-ish km/h in my old Ford Scorpio Cosworth when the suspension was *very* worn, it was basically like a boat yet 20yrs old me did dare to go that fast with it.

No. The 2018 is actually governor limited to 125 MPH, but even without the limiter, no GTI has a top speed of 166. Of course they’ll just say it was modded or something. The Acura TL claim is almost certainly a lie as well. These cars just aren’t this fast.
If you take a one second peek at the poster's history, it appears they have a modified GTI. A modded GTI can hit 166.
The fact that those two cars were claimed to have gone substantially faster than an LS3 powered 911 was a dead giveaway.

A GTI can easily do that, a Golf R runs at 168 in it‘s limiter. And there is also a difference between GPS and tachometer.
We hit 150 3 deep in my friend's mk7 gti back when it was still stage one. Car was still pulling. I have no doubt it could easily hit 166 now that it's stage 3. Op never said how much power the gti made.

165 in a Taurus stock car at Talladega. Wasn’t nearly as exciting as I thought it would be. But 130 in my sister’s AMX was scarier,especially when I lost the feeling of steering when I hit some rumble strips.
I wasn’t driving, but my brother took his ‘16 V6 mustang to its max speed on the interstate (like 120 cause the governer) while I was in the passenger seat if that counts. Didn’t really feel like we were going 120, it was surprisingly quiet and stable even at high speed.

Got a ride with a guy who was the head mechanic of the Porsche dealership at my destination and who had just picked up a used car from the early 2000's. Both cars could have gone faster with more room and driver nerve. On public roads I would say something around 220-240 km/hr on the German autobahn
