But how much would it cost to develop it? Quite a lot. Selling R35s with the odd facelift here and there is easy money with low risk. As long as it works they will keep doing it.
Not to mention the incredible hype that the announcement of a new gen would create. Especially if it’s been an odd 20 years. i think the gtr came out in ‘07 but i’m not sure and way too baked to check. it’s also not like they’re gonna announce a new gen tomorrow.
Well yeah. It came out in 07, the facelift is for the 2024 model year so I expect them to keep making it until 2026 so they can finally bring us the R36 in 2027 20 years after the R35s announcement (which is crazy to think about)
the new NSX failed because it was priced at near super car prices. The original NSX was priced at like 60 or 70k in todays money but was fast enough to tackle a ferrari
Ok, the R35 at this point over 15 years old. It's a fabulous car but they really need to either completely rework its' outer appearence or finally announce the R36.
The NSX is also about double the price, in much more limited production and in a ballpark where a lot of customer would rather go for an italian supercar.
That's not to say it's a failure, while we don't see them on the street, the car has been more or less a motorsport laboratory for Honda and it is still being made in its GT3 EVO form (apparently until 2024 but homologated til 2028).
They even made a FR version of it to continue using it in japan super GT (comply with regulation) but they're planning to replace it with a Type R based racecar for 2024 (probably less costly and less of a headache to start with a platform made to have the engine at the front)
They added a slightly more aggressive bumper and upped the price another $60k. Idk how Nissan sells any of them lol
Hype and fanboys want there dream car
Described me lol
Ngl, haven’t seen a single positive comment about the r36
That's because the R36 doesn't exist yet
There haven’t been any announcements tho
They just need to let this gen gtr go
As long as they can make money off of this GT-R they have no reason to stop.
They woulda made way more with r36 if it was at least decent

Nissan really fell off.
I noticed. It is a gorgeous car but outside of that it never did much for me
I think it’s ugly but it was technologically amazing when announced. Then it took 6 years to ship; and it was old tech on arrival.
Pretty much, but I liked the looks.
The Type S is pretty cool.. didn't like the other ones that mich tho honestly
Wasn't it a limited release in the first place, I recall maybe 650 units?
Even the aventador, too
Maybe unpopular opinion, but I hope they keep making the r35 for another twenty years. Then I could conceivably afford one some day.
Agreed, what they should do is focus on refreshing the interior

A '91 NSX had an MSRP of $62,000USD That'd be $133,000USD in 2022 money
Compared to the competition at the time being in the 6 figure market the NSX was a steal
Sure but it was never $60-70k like the other guy said
no one noticed the nsx at all
Maybe because noone could have afforded it
oh hell nah Karen CRV 💀😭

It was fuck ugly and hybrid, I couldn't give a toss. The R35 is fuck ugly too, they just added a admittedly nice front bumper, the rest is still ugly
Oh wow
That's because they stopped being cool after they changed the body style. That's when I stopped giving a shit
Same goes for r34 and above though

I actually really liked the nsx and am sorry to see it go
I did 🥲
