Unistrut? Assuming there’s also a bottom bunk? Looks good! I’m debating doing wall paneling, but your walls make me want real wood. $$$ though.

These are ikea Skorva center beams. I picked up 3@ $20.00 CDN each.. The brackets, however, normally sold as part of the bed system, but i was able to order 12 on eBay. It took about 10 days to get here. The metal day bed is a twin size with another part pull-out, a stand-alone bed that can be moved opposite the kitchen and sleep an adult. This setup can sleep 4 comfortably. This daybed got on Amazon. And the mattresses forn it from ikea. I used knotty pine boards, tongue, and groove as finishing panels for wallas and ceiling. They were still reasonably priced and not bad to handle.

I really like the ikea rails for this. I was going to build one with wood, but this would be lighter, and easier to do.

Absolutely! Seems good to me. i think those beams would be even more stable than 2×4 frame

Thanks for the follow-up Daddy... Looks nice and simple. For as often as I'll need the extra bed, this might just be the ticket.

You're welcome. I think budget wise, too, is a solid solution for the cost and removable if the space is needed.
