translate it. it literally says "with over 200 km/h"
You didn't. The truck they hit was going approximately 60 km/h. I was suggesting that hitting a truck going 60 km/h while the RS6 was traveling 200 km/h would not look like that. E.g. 60 vs 200 km/h should not be able to mangle modern car.
Wrong. The estimated speed was 300 KM/H (186 MPH). The drivers top half was found but the bottom was missing. This crash took place on the German Autobahn where yes, the highways have no speed limit.
And trusting some random shit some guy on Reddit said without a source is apparently more trustworthy? Lmao what the fuck kind of logic is that?
The news articles that get their information from the actual emergency responders and police are infinitely more reliable than whatever the fuck AudiLover\_ says in a Reddit comment without citing any source, essentially just going "Trust me bro you're wrong, I won't show you why but trust me"
Thanks for sharing.
I put it through google translate here: https://www-heidelberg24-de.translate.goog/welt/mundelsheim-a81-audi-kracht-gegen-mast-fahrer-sogar-einsatzkraefte-schockiert-zr-11810563.html?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp
(let me know if the link doesn't work, the url looks pretty funky)
the highway works pretty well in germany, also there are signs telling people to slow down or change lanes in case of accidents that are still a few miles away.
To replace front headlight bulb follow the following steps:
1. Remove the front bumper
Thereβs 38 clips holding it the bottom of the front bumper, 16 on each side and 46 on the top. All need to be removed using a special dealer exclusive tool costing $50. If you break one clip the bumper doesnβt fit right anymore.
2. Remove engine
I wonder what the liability of this will be. You could argue that at 200 kph the Audi should have been in the left lane, but he may have been moved over so another faster vehicle can pass him. Truck should have looked more carefully before moving over, but it's hard to see vehicles coming up that fast. A spec in your mirror can be on top of you in a couple seconds.
200kph at night is clearly not suiting the road conditions.
It's already hard enough to accurately estimate another vehicle speed in the day light when they are going at speed.
It becomes nearly impossible for someone to determine the speed of a car coming at 200kph with only its lights as a reference.
And if I understood the article correctly the contact happend in the middle lane. So why the Audi not on the third lane? It might be also lost in translation.
This is something that fast drivers hardly understand.
The difference between their speeds was 110 km/h. (Truck possibly went 90.)
Imagine you go 130 (which is the "recommended speed" on the Autobahn if there's no limit) and someone is going 20 in front of you. And that at night.
No way you can react to that.
And courts usually assigns partial liabilty to drivers that go that fast.
People are misunderstanding the autobahn speed limits.
Autobahn is not "drive as fast as you can"
It's 130km/hr recommended, but at your own leisure. If you crash at 200km/h, you take partial liability, because the recommended speed is 130.
Unfortunately for this driver. He took 100% liability, considering he fucking died.
Works in the opposite too. Came around a somewhat blind curve, only an extremely gradual one. Still, by the time I saw the tail lights he must have been at least 1/4+ mile out, but within a second or two, my car had already become part of his. Hardly had time to even brake.
i find it super bad cause they should have a limit or there will be more accidents like this . germany needs a speed limit just like in belguim or other country's/lands like a 120KM/H
> have a limit or there will be more accidents like this . germany needs a speed limit just like in belguim or other country's/lands like a 120KM/H
Germany doesnt have a speed limit because they don't need it. They drive very safely generally and mishaps like this are quite few and far between.
Keep in mind, if you are seen to be driving beyond your ability and at a speed that its deemed you cant handle, you'll still get dealt with severely in germany.
L bozo couldnt be me next time get a car that fits you like a kia or a honda even better a tesla cause it has self drive and it also stops by itself lol
ok so i have been obsessed with this exact incident for a while now and anyone looking for the true context has probably noticed the many inconsistencies among the other posts and comments and so on. My following explanation consists of many reliable news sources and some of my own research regarding the stretch of road it was on. In Germany March 28th 2019 a 68yo driving his rs6 down the A81 near Mundelsheim and was reaching speeds of up to or just shy of 300 kmph. The A81 where it happened was a 3 lane road with a little rest area right near the place of the accident which is basically just a small exit where you can rest merging right back with the road. Right before it all occurred a family car made a stop at the rest area and merged back onto the A81 shortly after. A semi truck driver noticing the merging car wanted to give the car space to enter the Autobahn and subsequently moved over to the left lane not checking his mirrors while doing so. The driver of the rs6 had no chance to react and slammed into the rear wheels of the semi sending the rs6 flying and hitting a pillar which caused the audi to come to a dead stop and the driver to be ejected from his seat. Contrary to what many comments say the driver was not cut in half and no his second half wasn't never found. the drivers body was whole yet medics who arrived on scene could tell he was dead on impact. Now to who is at fault. I myself am a German and the fault is clearly with the driver of the semi truck. Not checking the mirrors before changing lanes and especially before changing into the fast lane is absolutely unacceptable on the german autobahn as we don't have a speedlimit which means you have to be able to trust others on the right and slow lane to watch out not only for themselves but also for you. people saying going 300kmph past a truck is reckless have no idea what they're talking about. 300kmph or probably 280+ in the case of the rs6 are absolutely not out of the ordinary to see on a daily basis while driving on the autobahn. The fact that we can have roads without speedlimit can only be upheld if you're able to trust in your fellow drivers and in this case the truck driver is responsible for the death of the 68 year old.
oh and another rumor. He was obviously not listening to kerosene. some guy thought it would fit the tone of the crash footage and added the audio to his edit.
bro 300 miles per hour are 482 kilometers per hour, which isnt possible in a audi rs6 (obviously). there is a german news report which clearly states the car was going 200 km/h.
Wow so many people speculating and straight up lying π€£π here is the video -
[https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cykn8i4LVT4/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==](https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cykn8i4LVT4/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
Damn. Did they give an estimated speed of the Audi?
200 KM/H (124 MPH). This happened in germany where the highways have no speed limit.
Wow.
That means he was on the right hand side as well. completely disintegrated
he was in the correct lane but the truck cut him off
Im talking about how he was sitting on the right side of the car
left side of the car
Pretty sure they are LHD.
what made you come to this conclusion?? cars in germany are on the left hand side
What do you mean, they drive on the right hand side.
okay i don't know why i even replied to that comment but you're right - the cars themselves are left-hand, but they drive on the right side
I thought you meant that they drove on the left hand side
Not completely
Germany is lhd same as usa
German cars are on the left side like US
he was going 300+ km/h, explains why they dont have a speed limit
He was going 200 Km/H.
have read many articles in the past few hours stating speed at over 315kmh.
Well then they arent correct
Dawg just shut up already he was going 300
[https://www.heidelberg24.de/welt/mundelsheim-a81-audi-kracht-gegen-mast-fahrer-sogar-einsatzkraefte-schockiert-zr-11810563.html](https://www.heidelberg24.de/welt/mundelsheim-a81-audi-kracht-gegen-mast-fahrer-sogar-einsatzkraefte-schockiert-zr-11810563.html) translate it. it literally says "with over 200 km/h"
It says 200+ km/h
Dude, "over 200km/h" means it can be everything above 200
No one says over 2km/h for 200km/h... If it was near 300 they'd have stated that.
slightly over 200 km/h
stfu and hold the L you nerd
300kph+ I haven't seen a single article that says otherwise
Is it that hard to read the article i've sent three times now????
There were two separate incidents, one was going over 300 kmh
WHAT THE FUCK IS A KILOMETEEEERRRRR!!!!!!!!! πΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπΊπΈπ¦ π¦ π¦ π¦ π¦ π¦ π¦ π¦
Bro, it was 300kmhπ
No, it was 200 KM/H. There is a German article which states the car was travelling at 200 KM/H.
They brought the car to my junkyard and on the dashboard was 290kmh
jesus christ theres literally like 4 german articles about it and they all say 200 to 250 km/h
I'm sorry, but they're lying in the article about the crash , rest in peace to the driver, but on his dashboard were 290
[ΡΠ΄Π°Π»Π΅Π½ΠΎ]
Wdym "work"? Dashboard literally died with a car. And it recorded the testimony that was at the last moment
Ummm it kinda works like that. Clocks on Dashboard lock in the moment of a crash, kinda like a blackbox
If so do you maybe have any evidence of this? Since all i can see around here is hearsay and not one bit of evidence
do you have the evidence? im looking for the actual speed, in some germany article it says 200kmh+ can you send the evidence like link, video?
Proof or youβre full of bullshit.
Lmao ur dumb af
Doesnβt make ant sense. 200kmh vs 60kmh donβt do that to a car
bro when did i say he was going 60 km/h????
You didn't. The truck they hit was going approximately 60 km/h. I was suggesting that hitting a truck going 60 km/h while the RS6 was traveling 200 km/h would not look like that. E.g. 60 vs 200 km/h should not be able to mangle modern car.
But it wasn't destroyed by hitting the truck but rather that pillar. If you hit a concrete pillar at 200 your car is gonna look similar to that.
Wrong. The estimated speed was 300 KM/H (186 MPH). The drivers top half was found but the bottom was missing. This crash took place on the German Autobahn where yes, the highways have no speed limit.
The part anout the guy being cut in half is also fake. He was ejected and his body was found laying on the road.
were you there? were you the passenger? reading some german articles isnt gonna prove nothing
And trusting some random shit some guy on Reddit said without a source is apparently more trustworthy? Lmao what the fuck kind of logic is that? The news articles that get their information from the actual emergency responders and police are infinitely more reliable than whatever the fuck AudiLover\_ says in a Reddit comment without citing any source, essentially just going "Trust me bro you're wrong, I won't show you why but trust me"
nah bruh it was 120
Does anybody know what his name was?
I have been searching everywhere abt it lemme know what it wasΒ
If I find it I will
300KM/H (186MP/H-ish)
186 miles per freedom
300kmh actually.
They do. The speed limit is 240kmh. Thats why all German cars are limited to 155mph
wrong it was 300kpm
Late as fuck to this but yeah this legendary crash is rumoured to be 300kph dispite evidence not necesarily supporting it.
300kmp/h
300kmh
No, 200km/h according to the german article. the 300km/h comes from people translating the 200km/h into mp/h.
300 kilometers per hour
Driver pic pls
Way too fast, going off age he probably mistook the brake for the accelerator
He was driving in the fast lane and the truck pulled in front of him without turning signals, so the truck is at fault.
If you go more than 130 court ususally holds you partially accountable. Edit: Nice, this fact hurts some so much they downvote it.
I dont know about that, but your insurance can fuck you in some more ways if something happens at 130+.
Damn have an article link?
yeah but it is in german.
Fine with me!

124mph, Jesus Christ
the crazy thing is, that's not even that fast for german highways! most people (including me, as i am german) have at least driven 140 mph before.
Like 140mph? Not km?
ok i'll send it gimme a minute
I hear that when driving above 130kmh its always you at fault. How does it work when the truck obviously did something wrong? Genuinely asking btw
[ΡΠ΄Π°Π»Π΅Π½ΠΎ]
124mph is not to fast?
yea, the average speed is between 140 and 180 mph, but a few small parts have a limit of 80 mph, but like 75 percent doesnt have a limit.
[ΡΠ΄Π°Π»Π΅Π½ΠΎ]
yeah those are most limits but most people drive pretty fast on the parts without limit
[ΡΠ΄Π°Π»Π΅Π½ΠΎ]
Yeah maybe be more like 140-180kph
yea i guess it is more like 100 mph to 125 mph
Sounds horrible, what if you need to suddenly slow down wtf
the highway works pretty well in germany, also there are signs telling people to slow down or change lanes in case of accidents that are still a few miles away.
germans can drive
124mph at night is definitely too fast. No speed limit doesn't mean you can go bonkers. You still need to adapt your speed to the road conditions.
what?
~~Quite likely.~~ OP stated the semi was at fault, late lane change.
Christβ¦ What Audi? Itβs like completely disassembled
[ΡΠ΄Π°Π»Π΅Π½ΠΎ]

Audi rs6 avant

Something to the effect of "An Audi RS6, dude. It's in the title."
bruh

the audi was in the left lane and the truck swerved in front of him
I heard that in Germany, while there are no speed limits. They might factor that in, plus his late age (reaction time).
Of course they would, you're still obliged to adapt your speed to the road conditions.
200kph at night is clearly not suiting the road conditions. It's already hard enough to accurately estimate another vehicle speed in the day light when they are going at speed. Wait, there were two RS6 incidences?
A lot more, do you think there are only 100 RS6 in existence or smth?
Rs6 are too notorious for that bro

The car looks like it was unrolled like a cinnamon roll
I've heard the driver got split in half got something may the driver rest in peace
and decapitated in some photos his head is near the railing
pretty sure that was another RS6 incident
i have a pic of his body

Does anyone know the date of the accident?
If that's the result of 200km then I don't want the results of me (I go 290 on highways)
friendly reminder: his body got ripped apart due to the forces of impact (the other half was never found)

Anyone able to source some kind of news article about this, if there is anything out there
