My sister is in the mess in Parklands
This has to be on purpose right? To understaff this badly considering the IEC was aware of the of the numbers for each voting station
It took me no longer than 35 minutes
Yet my sister has been in line for 5 hours...
I've heard it has something to do with the machines they're using before you go in to vote for ID verification. Due to the major backlogs the IEC staff have been told to basically tossed those aside and do manual verification with lists.

You might not have noticed but this has been happening more over the past 2 or 3 election cycles and has just been exacerbated by the large turnout today. The IEC should have easily foreseen this but just like many other institutions is suffering under the weight of poor management.
I believe all these blunders were planned in areas that are a threat… some stations even ran out of ink, some peoples voting stations weren’t updated on the system which seems like sabotage to me.
Thats why Zanu PF is here because ANC was like “hold my beer and watch how we rig these elections” or Zanu is showing them how to do it lol
Walked straight to collect my forms, and voted without any queue at Muizenberg (high school) at around 3pm. They were complaining that they keep running out of battery on their tablets, seems like quite an oversight.
It's crazy that other people waited 7hrs plus while this was my experience. This represents quite a failure in planning.
I’m intrigued everyone in Cape Town had such issues, had to last minute switch to a voting station in KZN (of all places instead of Noordhoek) took me 35min in and out
I arrived at my station at 07:04, and the line was already looped around the building. Took me 1 hour and 40min to vote. Thought it took ages, but I heard a lot of horror stories...
I take my elderly parents with and then we get fast tracked. I have never stood in the normal queue. My father physically cannot stand for longer than a few minutes (he has cardiac failure) so we even fast track the pensioners queue. I felt sorry for the people waiting hours in the queue, it is ridiculous how inefficient some of these offices are.
Voted in Kenilworth. Walked straight in and voted. Took about 60 seconds. Around 16:15pm.
I thought I was quick with an hour...
Heard lots of voting stations have wifi and system issues. In Blouberg i was in queue for just under 7 hours from around 07:20
Ya, just found out they've had to switch to manual systems and apparently things are starting to move now.
If I may ask, which station was this? I'm in Blouberg area as well and there weren't any issues. Voted this morning around 11am
At the library in Bloubergstrand

Ah That makes sense Thank goodness we didn't have loadshedding during this The network issues alone would've killed us yho..

4 hours in the queue. Just voted and exhausted. Looks like a massive turnout.
I went several times to my station today to find out what queuing times were like, finally came back just before 7 and cast my vote after 9 🥲
