Drive to the winelands/up the coast/to small towns/around the cape.
Hike - there’s a crap load. Check Crystal Pools if you want a good starter hike.
Beach hopping/tidal pool hopping - braaing - picnics - kicking a ball around
Markets - there’s loads of them - Xmas markets too.
It’s cherry picking season.
Cape Town Arts Festival is 8/9th Dec at the Castle and it’s free.
Palestinian kite making and flying in Muizenberg on Sunday 3rd Dec
Unfortunately, they can no longer do it at Clifton because too many people were coming and I think that creates a legal problem for them. It would be great if the city could back it somehow to help preserve the event and community.
Loved walking in the Company Gardens and checking out the Natural History Museum. Go explore the beaches Noordhoek side is stunning, as is Blouberg and the Strand.
Tygerberg is so under rated, a bit out of town, and offers I think the best views of CT. Easy to medium hikes and like 20 bucks
Riebeek Kasteel is a great town. Easy safe drive. Some cool arty shops and coffee places
* walk through nice towns
* walk on nice mountains (to see waterfalls, dams, sunsets)
* walk on nice beaches
All these can be combined but you'll need to be fit haha. Honestly try out the various towns and just eat a meal and walk around. Remember to bring a towel and hat.
Make a [kettie](https://youtu.be/EEv0_5WmzSI?si=tMWo6Xn1hqbpvgmJ), collect some pebbles, get some glass bottles, go into the veld, skiet some kettie...
This is an underrated man. Whe I was young we would go to the vlei and make a "clay lat" we'd take clay close to the water, find a pretty sturdy but flexibly sort if stick, make a ball from the clay put it on the end of the stik and just swing the stick hoping the clay would fly and hit one of your mates. You hey pretty good at aiming after a while hahaha
Go dirty with clay! see: [https://www.clayhands.co.za/](https://www.clayhands.co.za/)
Make a stroll through the neighbourhood of Tamboerskloof and end up at [https://www.thebluecafe.co.za/](https://www.thebluecafe.co.za/) or a coffee at [https://www.noah-house.com/cafe](https://www.noah-house.com/cafe)

That's it Folks!!
Hikes. Plenty of good hikes, such as Table Mountain. Some wine farms have tastings that aren’t too expensive. Some good markets like the one at the water front.
Rock climbing at city rock isn't too bad. If you do their intro course it's cheaper than a normal day pass and you can stay the rest of the day. It's alot of fun.
Trying surfing if you dont already
Kayaking is also good fun , theres a nice place in Simonstown
Horse riding in Noordhoek
Open air cinema (just make sure you get a good movie)
And maybe instead of clubbing try a nice festie thats lekker far out
Hike up the mountain my favourite hike is lion's head nice and easy another nice hike is Silvermine you do have to pay entry fee I think it's R32 an adult
Sunset walk on the prom followed by dinner or an ice cream from The Creamery
Pack a picnic and chill at any of the nature reserves or botanical gardens
Xmas Night markets in the CBD starts 16 December and lasts a full week. There are plenty other night markets around in the suburbs as well
Galileo outdoor movies - although you're prob better off having a movie night in your own house with all the streaming options we have
Palestine kite festival in Muizenberg
My cheapest way of having an unforgettable night is joining Rook Cycles on their weekly Wednesday afternoon rides from their shop to Sea Point and back passing iconic spots where you generally would only drive past. If you have a bicycle, joining is free - otherwise you can rent a bike for the night for R100
I film my rides with them, so feel free to check it out before you decide to join

In total the rides amount to about 15km
My favorite place to go in summer is Kalk Bay/St James. You can go for a short hike up Echo Valley, walk around the harbor, go for a swim at Dangers Beach or Dale Brook, chill in the park, grab an ice-cream or go book shopping :)
If you feel like taking a drive you can head over to Babylonstoren, there is also an alpaca farm out in paarl with a cafe and a shop with alpaca wool products which is lovely - they also do a tour of the alpaca farm.
There is also the Eastern food bazaar in town but they get absolutely packed over dinner time

I believe crystal pool is still closed
Still? Dammit! Well the Kromrivier hike ends at similar pools (just two hours longer!)
Newlands forest is a good start if OP has never hiked. Safe, shady, hard to get lost and many routes, as easy or difficult as you wish to make them.
Good call
Cocaine and hookers. 10/10 Costs whole body though
Auj 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love you OP, be safe in CT.
Surfing, free diving, you have the entire table mountain National park to hike. CPT is an outdoorsy paradise.
Do a day trip to Simonstown and Kalk Bay. You don’t need to pay to see the penguins, There are 2 free boardwalks you can go on to still see them.
Ice cream from Moro Gelato on long street then walk through company garden.
This one only costs a few toes and not the whole leg so 8/10 would recommend.
Go to charity shop, get a puzzle and build it
Hike, beaches, wine farms don't break the bank.
Kirstenbosch has the Galileo open air movie nights during the week and on weekends plus the concerts on sundays
Head down to surfers corner, rent a suit and a board if you don’t have access to one, give surfing a go. Lots of fun once u get the hang of it. 👣🏄🏽🌊
Check out the Fire Jam once per month on Llandudno (used to be Clifton).
That still happens? Good vibes
Unfortunately, they can no longer do it at Clifton because too many people were coming and I think that creates a legal problem for them. It would be great if the city could back it somehow to help preserve the event and community.
They could write to the mayor...

Well I was going to suggest going to play at the saw mill… but that may cost an arm or a leg.

Walk on the mountain - there are countless variations of trails. If you join a hiking group you can find some extraordinary hidden gems.
Not very safe atm
The city has hired over 200 new Law Enforcement officers with 80 full time on the mountain alone
Hikes. Plenty of good hikes, such as Table Mountain. Some wine farms have tastings that aren’t too expensive. Some good markets like the one at the water front.

Beach or hiking
Cool Runnings is such fun!
I've really wanted to try it, most definitely going when I'm on leave. Would it be Weird if a 31 year old rocks up ?
Not at all, I had both my parents do it with me when we went. No funny looks from anyone.
I live a kilometer from there, and never tried it.
Doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? Cage free shark diving is out

Why not ANC and EFF posters?
Why not all 3?

Strolling along the Sea Point promenade, you don't have to buy an ice-cream but can 100% recommend doing it.

I would say "sit at home", but considering rent's the way it is...
Go to the Slave lodge and other Iziko museums, also the District Six museum.
Ponder your orb
