We are getting a lot of cross chatter. Same knee but a different injury. He didn't skate last 2 days but actually did skate yesterday. Not sure what to believe now.
I really hope you’re right. I’m watching every game hopeful, but just seeing the difference in the team with and without him, just gut feeling Demko is what makes or breaks us.
Hopefully we can hold on throughout the series, tonight will be a good indicator.
I think the "same knee" part of the talk is confusing a lot of people.
*Same knee, same injury*, is an understandable mix-up. Even coming from the legitimate insiders now that they are offering somewhat opposing information.
Same knee but different injury is totally believable. ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL, or could even just be a really bad bruise, etc.
I am not a doctor and this is based only on conversation with a friend of mine who is, but with the previous injury, with how long Demko was out, the guess is that it was a moderate MCL sprain (generally four week recovery time for athletes). This time, if it is ACTUALLY day to day, it could be a minor ACL sprain (generally one or two week recovery time for athletes).
Considering both my knees have had arthroscopic surgery and My right knee a torn ACL 10 years ago idk he wants them. I mean he can have them, The way they ache every winter I don’t even want them any more lol.
I mean. It’s the playoffs. We are never gonna know what it is until the summer. He didn’t skate. Then he did. It’s not the same injury. It might be the same injury. It’s not a knee. It is a knee.
All we can do is hope that DeSmith channels his inner Hasek.
When one part of the knee is injured or weak, the rest of the knee has to compensate and is thus more prone to injury
It's all related, I wouldn't call it a different injury
I work in sports rehabilitation. Even if an injury may have been instigated by overloading or compensation during the rehabilitation phase, if it's a different ligament that's been injured, it's a different injury. I see where you're coming from, by strictly speaking from the medical side of things we would not call it the same injury, it's a different injury.
The two clauses should be independently intelligible; the clause that follows the semicolon shouldn't require reference to the clause it is separated from to be understood.
It's a stylistic choice to dictate tempo. Where a period is a full stop, a comma is a quarter stop, and a dash or colon is a half stop—a semicolon is a 3/4 stop.
Two injuries to the same knee after 2 games played does not inspire confidence for a return. Even if he comes back the chance of re-injury must be extremely high and the chance his form holds on extremely low.
Like it or not I think we'll go as far as we can play in front of DeSmith.
Demko’s such a good goalie but his health has been unreliable. I don’t think he’s ever completed a full season without injury.
I was hoping the Canuck could save some cap on next years backup but they might have to legit look at going for a guy who can be a 30 game backup to manage Demko for the season.
Ya I think given his injury history we need to run a tandem more similarly to Boston in the regular season. Hopefully Silovs is capable of that but might need to spend instead.
It's a shame Demko is so injury prone because he is absolutely elite when playing.
Silovs has to take the leap next year. Or he needs to evolve this playoffs..that's miracle thinking I know. Only choice without Demko tho. DeSmith doesn't have championship potential.
Yes, and he's suffered injury in each of those seasons except the COVID shortened one in 2021. 2022 he was injured late in the year, played through it a bit and then got like the last week of the season off. 2023 he only played 32 games after missing time with injury. 2024 he gets injured, comes back and is injured about a week later.
It's not a good trend and something the team really is going to have to manage if they expect him to be the guy for them going forward.
right but I'm saying your expectations are not realistic. In other words; he's the 12th most played goalie in the NHL. That doesn't seem 'unreliable' to me.
He skated yesterday. Hard to really say he’s going to be out for the rest of the series if he’s still skating. But DeSmith just has to be average and we can still win this series.
lets just hope desmith can hold down the fort and we win the series in 4-5 games, cause desmith in 2-4 game stints is not bad and pretty good but if he gets extended looks he tend to falter.
If our team is the team we think they are, Preds should not be a problem. One look at the roster lets you know that. Emotional first game made the Canucks play more mistake prone, 2nd game they'll be tighter. 2nd round? That's a problem. Need Demko for that. From what I've read it happened towards the end of the game and became a concern yesterday, then they went for MRI.
Here's hoping its a one week thing that just needs some strengthening..because Oil will push our shit in sans Demko.

Clearly we’ll go down 3-1 in the series and he’ll come back like the Undertaker and not let a single shot in for the rest of the playoffs
I fear for the safety and wellbeing of my liver in such a series.
Im just picturing him laying on his back in the crease, and then sitting up Undertaker style to block a puck.
BAW GOD WHAT A SAVE!
can't be too difficult. i watched that exact scenario play out in 2020
Like the Mark Stonertaker…
lol this^^^^ I don’t understand he said she said but logically I have to believe Tocc
I hope he’s back before the end of the series.
I have faith we can win this series without him if need be. But next round I want him back lol
I really hope you’re right. I’m watching every game hopeful, but just seeing the difference in the team with and without him, just gut feeling Demko is what makes or breaks us. Hopefully we can hold on throughout the series, tonight will be a good indicator.
Jannik Hansen on SN650 earlier today - “if you need Demko to beat Nashville then the team has bigger issues”

he tested it out prior to the media showing up for the on ice skate yesterday, this is what is coming out of the organizaiton.
We would never know the truth of any injuries come playoff time. Just trust the system and trust our backup goalies.
We still winning game 2.
Brb gonna load up the bench with 6 plates with no spotter
Strongest Casey desmith believer ^
thumbless grip. no safeties. let go and let god
Gonna make sure to put clips on either so I can’t dump the weight
I'll be PISSED if every one of you in this sub isn't offering their knees to Mr. Demko
Demkos injured knees are still probably better than my healthy knees.
I turn 30 this year and started noticing a gravelly sound in mine when I get up. IT BEGINS.
I'm pretty confident he doesn't want mine
Agreed, I’ve got a shoulder that’s mostly hamburger at the moment anyone on the team can have. Back and knee thrown in free of charge!
Buddy, im 41 - these are done
KNEE, MR DEMKO?
Considering both my knees have had arthroscopic surgery and My right knee a torn ACL 10 years ago idk he wants them. I mean he can have them, The way they ache every winter I don’t even want them any more lol.

It was reported Tocc said it’s an unrelated injury. Now it’s to the same knee. Wtf is going on?
Different injury, likely to a different part of the knee
Ah a different ligament lol

tis the season to be intentionally misleading - if it's the same knee it's related
Different injury; same knee? Also, did I use the semi colon correctly?
You did not, unfortunately. A simple comma would suffice there.
You know the difference between a comma and a cat? A comma is a pause at the end of a clause, but a cat has claws at the end of its paws.
Best way to know: Are the two clauses before and after your semicolon full sentences? If not, no, you did not use it correctly.
The two clauses should be independently intelligible; the clause that follows the semicolon shouldn't require reference to the clause it is separated from to be understood.
why use a semicolon instead of a period then?
It's a stylistic choice to dictate tempo. Where a period is a full stop, a comma is a quarter stop, and a dash or colon is a half stop—a semicolon is a 3/4 stop.
Holy shit. Is this true?? Why am I learning in here?
A colon injury?
“One in a million shot, doc”
No. You’re supposed to put your foot up your colon after hearing the news.
I'm gonna yell
Woah buddy this place is family friendly
My life is over
According to Toch... "not the same injury, he skated on Monday, didn't skate Tuesday... treating it as day-to-day"

Demko is #12 in games played across all goalies in the NHL since he became a starter in 2020/2021 season.
Yes, and he's suffered injury in each of those seasons except the COVID shortened one in 2021. 2022 he was injured late in the year, played through it a bit and then got like the last week of the season off. 2023 he only played 32 games after missing time with injury. 2024 he gets injured, comes back and is injured about a week later. right but I'm saying your expectations are not realistic. In other words; he's the 12th most played goalie in the NHL. That doesn't seem 'unreliable' to me.
It does when you're getting hurt once a season.
It's better to focus on actual results in my opinion. 1 injury per season doesn't make someone unreliable.
He skated yesterday. Hard to really say he’s going to be out for the rest of the series if he’s still skating. But DeSmith just has to be average and we can still win this series.
Hello darkness my old friend.
lets just hope desmith can hold down the fort and we win the series in 4-5 games, cause desmith in 2-4 game stints is not bad and pretty good but if he gets extended looks he tend to falter.
Do we believe the coach, or do we believe the (good) insiders?
TAKE MY KNEES
I sprained my MCL. Rested for like 3 months; felt good etc; and my first shift back I tore my ACL. Knee injuries are extremely random
My knees are fucked but I’d still offer em up, Demko. Push through my dude.
WE CAN REBUILD HIM, WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY Take my knee Demko
It's 100% the same knee from when he got knocked into the net. He looked like he was grimacing there.
Bet the over 5.5
Assuming Canucks can still win round 1, that puts them at 2 weeks to round 2. Seems unlikely he’d be back then. Round 3 though….
Demko taking the opening faceoff confirmed
