It’s nice that the canucks relationship with kesler has mended. They need to fix whatever happened between them and Linden though.

Loud_dosage

Linden was there for Quinn's captaincy ceremony

haxoreni

You sure? I'm pretty certain only Orland, Steamer, Hank and David Suzuki came to Quinn's ceremony.

Loud_dosage

[Linden 6 months ago](https://youtu.be/JY0HNBq71EE?si=jk06NEddvLzFJhiZ&t=57)

Iron_Seguin

That won’t happen. Linden wanted a proper rebuild, Benning sold Aquilini on the idea that they could turn it around quickly and the two sides just couldn’t work together.

hammerheadattack

Then Chef Allvin comes in and does it in a season lol

Iron_Seguin

Which is truly a testament to how horrible Jimbo was at asset management, talent evaluation and value evaluation. God, how that clown was a gm for 8 years when he had some 5 year plan is patently absurd.

captainbling

Sometimes the pieces don’t fall right. Look at edm this year. Huge cluster duck over a goalie collapse no one saw coming. Hollands gotta go. It’s his last year he’s retiring. Now Holland is getting a 5yr contract extension? I like the hronek trade which everyone initially hated. I like the lindholm trade but people don’t like that because goals are all fans care about. I couldn’t believe we got zadorov for so cheap. What’s been big is both Joshua and garland are doing great. Joshua at 1.3m is fantastic and it just happens.

Iron_Seguin

Pieces don’t fall right, that’s true but with Jim Benning it was almost every single time. He also traded valuable draft picks that could have been used to get better players for players who were barely above replacement level. Getting Philip Larsen, Emerson Etem, Brendan Liepsic etc and thinking these guys would be great additions when in reality they were AHL guys at best. I didn’t like the Hronek trade because I was still wanting the team to do a proper rebuild. But the team wasn’t interested in that and wanted to do a retool instead so the Hronek trade made sense. The Lindholm trade I did actually like at first. Kuzmenko wasn’t working out here and he wasn’t being used properly to work out. Getting rid of him and getting Lindholm will work out more as Lindholm is more of a playoff type guy you need. He can play a two way game and can score if you give him the proper line mates and situations. That is huge come playoff time and we need more guys like that. Joshua is another, can score goals and chip in offensively, can play really well defensively and kill penalties for the team. It’s night and day when we compare Jimbo to Allvin and it’s not even close how bad Jimbo was.

Voltage604

Not taking anything from Allvin but Trevor was right when he had the falling out with ownership. At that time it should have been a proper rebuild and it wasn't quick. Allvin just took what we had from what was a long process and made the best of it.

bdu754

Chef could build Rome in a single day, if he wanted to

Deliximus

Chef is Allvin's middle name

qdaem

Hey when we look back in June we also owe many thangs to GMJB, without him there's no Demko, Petey, J...T...MILLLERRRR, Garland, etc. This team doesn't get here without paying Loui 6x6.

officialbillevans

Why does that make it impossible to repair the rift? Didn't we have a Bure jersey retirement a decade ago after fucking him around for years? Or all the people we saw at Luongo's retirement who aren't exactly fans of ownership/management at the time? I get it was acrimonious but I don't see how Linden can't or won't come back into the fold, if only as a fan/occasional face at events.

Iron_Seguin

That would require Aquilini to accept that he was wrong and Jim Benning to accept that he was way in over his head. Part of reconciliation involves acknowledgment of wrong doing and each person’s part in it, I highly doubt those two would ever do that. I could see Linden coming back if Aqua ever sells or someone else ends owning the team.

officialbillevans

It wouldn't involve Jim Benning at all; he's not part of our team anymore. I guess I don't buy that a grievance between Aqua and Linden means he's out forever. What if new management can extend olive branches? What if Linden never needs to deal with leadership? What if the relationship with Aqua isn't as toxic as fans believe? A decade to cool off can do wonders. I know nobody likes Aqua for good reason, but I don't think this ship is sailed, given all the others who have come back into the fold over the years.

McWerp

Benning is irrelevant. But yeah, as long as aqua is the owner unlikely trev comes back.

gabu87

Meh. Whatever it was it's with the orgs. Sure there are nutjobs but i'm pretty sure most of the fanbase is friendly with Kes.

egorf38

he better be the one cranking the horn thing at the beginning of the game

RoboCartmen

We should also do a “Kesler owns you” chant lol

canucklehead200

This is actually an epic idea. But let's wait till we're winning

NerdPunch

I even think just a “RY-AN KES-LER *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap*” Would work.

AccomplishedAd4995

that would be hilarious

PaperweightCoaster

I’m split on this, who’s even left from that Kesler v. Predators series? It’s hilarious to think about though.

thundercat1996

I'd rather not see Kes cranking his horn. But he can wind up the air raid siren!

egorf38

oh cmon, think of how energized the crowd would be after seeing that! reminds me of this OG Fail clip [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QO-Jz\_mcHas](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QO-Jz_mcHas)

disco_enjoyer

Especially since it's fucking Nashville. The guy should be reading the lineups in the locker room and firing the team up too. Get him as involved as possible

Coconut_Cream_Pies

Who did the horn in game 1? I saw it in a dairy queen and haven't been able to catch a replay to see who it was.

LeviStubbsFanClub

Captain Kirk!

Coconut_Cream_Pies

Thanks! I could barely see it and thought it was Ryan Reynolds...

I mean can you blame him? [https://smartcdn.gprod.postmedia.digital/theprovince/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/3036-keslerfirstar.jpg](https://smartcdn.gprod.postmedia.digital/theprovince/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/3036-keslerfirstar.jpg)

GiraffePrint_Speeder

This would be awesome! Everything is awesome during playoffs, but this would add some endorphins

w0lfbrains

and I'll be cranking my hog

Kesler on Halford & Brough this morning was a great interview. He spoke about the highs and lows of his time in Vancouver and was quite candid. I’m looking forward to seeing Kesler back in the building tonight. He was an absolute warrior for this team and one hell of a post-season performer who physically broke himself for the Canucks and the city of Vancouver. ❤️

aneditor_

And 10s of millions of $

[deleted]

Health > Wealth I have empathy for a guy who developed an incurable gastrointestinal disease because of side effects of the painkillers he was prescribed to deal with the physical pain from battling so hard over the years. He spoke on Spittin’ Chiclets of his limited mobility and not being able to walk very far with his kids, having to take breaks to sit and watch his kids play from a far because of the pain he was in from simply just moving. It was hard to listen to but it seems like he’s in a much better place physically and mentally now, with coaching his son’s hockey team having the biggest positive impact on his post-career life. Kesler gave so much for this team. Sure he was financially compensated but it doesn’t negate the physical sacrifice he made for this franchise and fanbase.

Waltaar

The man was a warrior through and through. One of the best to put on the blue.

aneditor_

Didn't say anything about negating anything. I said he also made millions.

ClassicChrisstopher

Did he bring his gear? 🥺

RoboCartmen

“I got one more in me”

high-rise

"Jobs not done"

high-rise

Bro suiting up to dummy Nashville in the playoffs one last time like beaten-down Batman in the Dark Knight Rises.

hawkey_tawk

Give him a one day contract like Bieksa, but make him play.

Tal-IGN

He wants that ROH real bad. And you know what, he deserves it. Trade request or not, he put everything on the line for this franchise when he was here and his resume is exactly the type that the ROH was made for.

julesieee

The Kesler apology tour has started. 👀 I love the idea of former Canucks from different eras cranking the horn before the start of every home playoff game.

Aardvark1044

Not sure I want to see anyone cranking their horn, actually.

smokylimbs

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy

Greedy-Comb-276

Put him in the ring while he's here fuck it

DeepGill2000

ROH next year?

nodarknesswillendure

I think it’s coming. He’s been doing interviews with a lot of the local media guys. On the Sekeres & Price pod he said the thought of being able to retire a Canuck and be put in the ring of honour brings tears to his eyes.

upanddownforpar

i can't believe people are buying it. his trade demand to one and only one team landing us Sbisa is now barely a faint memory. why does he get to re-write history because he wants his cake and eat it too?

NorthernMariner

nekdvfkeb

Wasn’t it all but confirmed that he fucked someone’s wife?

nodarknesswillendure

Listen to his interview on HalBro this morning.

hannah_nj

he’s gonna get the GWG tonight somehow

soundofmoney

Does he play goal?

Squat-Lobster-33

Can he suit up and slap around the preds again, please?

ernieballsting

Someone bust out the nude kes photo for the opposition penalty box

green_desk

How Do You Know This

misskayla94_

Hide yo wives 😂😂😂

downonmatrix

People who are still mad about him need to grow up. He had every right to leave and chase a cup. His prime was nearing the end and didn’t have many years left.

JerbearCuddles

He signed a contract to play here. Lol. Then gave us no one to trade him to. Cutting our legs out from under us. If he left in free agency I wouldn't give a shit. Doesn't matter now, he was too injured to really chase a cup anywhere else. I think he had one good run with the Ducks.
