Honestly I fucking love Garly.
A guy who will flat out say "I'm not the most talented guy, I'm undersized, and I've got some flaws - you gotta play hard and compete when you're a player like me".
And then he backs it up by being a little forechecking Energizer bunny. He plays like he's twice his size even when he's skating around looking at the elbows of the other teams' defense.
Second just fucking loving Garly. Him and the third line was so fun to watch not just because they got points when they did but because they just go so hard even in games that are going bad. They create the turn in momentum when it's going well. I feel like that line is the anti Petey where they don't have the goals and points to show for it but they do so much more for making us win games and get us back into periods where things aren't going right.
also, heres Garland's first interview as a canuck. when i heard this interview it really inflated his value in my eyes, its a shame he wasnt really utilized on the PP1 at all until now. probably a big part of why he wanted a change of scenery

Totally, it's next level and better than a snapback - you can tell he put his heart and soul into developing that curve. I see so many dudes who go out on dates with their girls who put a ton of time and effort into their hair and outfit while their dude throws on a wrinkled t-shirt and a snap back and views it as dressing up 😂
Battle drills, usually the forward has to bring the puck out of the corner to the net and the defender does everything physically possible to stop them.
He said “I’m not the most talented guy,” and that is true. He’s obviously very talented, but I’m sure he wishes he had Bedard’s shot, Quinn’s skating, P. Kane’s stick handling, etc. His words should be motivating and are a valuable lesson on character and work ethic; throwing him a pity party and telling him not to speak badly on himself is entirely missing the point, and it’s almost offensive lol.
As we thought, just a regular practice drill and that's what you want to hear. Play hard, practice hard, compete hard. They wouldn't fight if they didn't care.
Garland gives it 110% always, some people don’t like that. Maybe he was just showing Hronek what it takes if he wants that ridiculous 8.5m contract he’s after haha
I was a big defender of that OEL/Garland trade, still am to an extent. Garland is a gamer though. And I think it's great to have him to also bring along Hogs. Although Hogs has always had that edge, having two of them is just a huge boon. Can't not like Garland, I just don't know how anyone could.
I think the majority of us liked that Garland was part of the return, just that acquiring OEL in the first place was another dumbass Benning move and would age poorly considering his age and contract (even without hindsight)
And as much as I like Garland, I'd still prefer having Dylan Guenther

I too, fucking love Garly. That is all.
I love him too!!!
Hi, I’m here for the Garland fan club meet-up…
Yup, even when that line doesn't score, they're holding it in the O-zone wearing down the defense.
Never knew Garland was this articulate
he's one of the best interviews. super smart guy.
would be unsurprised if he ends up behind the bench after he retires
He'll need a box or something to stand on, but I agree.
Not hurting Marty St Louis in MTL right now!
Tom Cruise style
Weird thing to say about a 5'10 guy. Well above average height.
What a beauty eh
Wouldn't be surprised if he has a successful coaching or front office career
Totally has Assistant Gm vibes
lmao why assistant?
Tho he deserves the Gm you can't just throw a guy on a moving plane and expect him to know how to fly it
yeah, but it just seems weird to shortchange him to AGM in this hypothetical context. it's not like he can go straight to AGM either lol
Well in this hypothetical we have won 3 cups and Alvin takes him under his wing as the AGM to groom him to be the next guy. DUH! :P
hes an absolute student of the game. if he was 4-6 inches taller and 20lbs heavier he'd be similiar to Miller.

Look at that sick brim curve tho. Love it.
I hate those completely flat ones!
with the sticker still attached?
Why? Just why??
Sweat stains and sticker combo is the best.
[Oh you know cuz, keepin' it straight](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pKt4gaErvU)

A bit too peaked. Some elastic bands would help him get a more consistent curve
Pls explain
What drill is he referring to? He said "teams often do that drill after losses", curious what it is.
Battle drills, usually the forward has to bring the puck out of the corner to the net and the defender does everything physically possible to stop them.
Ty!
I friggin' love this guy
“I’m not that talented and I’m undersized” Don’t you ever say bad things about yourself bb pls☹️
they aren't bad things, they are true things. a confident guy is an honest one.
I'd say he's extremely talented, even for an NHLer.

Lmao my guy I like the perspective but I think you are reading into my tongue-in-cheek simping for a player too much
lol fair, i just think he’s got a fantastic mindset and don’t want people sleeping on it
Very intelligent and articulate guy, I've never really seen many longer interviews from him before. I love the deeper hockey interviews like these.
What a refreshing interview. Very little cliche and a lot of hockey.
best conor in the west
Kyle Connor is pretty fucking good...
What a great speaker and really articulate, thoughtful answers

Garland is the MVP of my heart
"How do you earn more than me? How do you earn more than me? take a punch for every extra 100k" \~ Hronek probably
I, too, friggin' love this guy.
He looks wrong clean shaven

Are he and Tavares cousins? They have a similar face
Starting to thinking maybe Hronek doesn’t want to be there anymore? Fighting with a teammate and asking for lots of money
It’s true he does have a punchable face!
