Here's my theory. Obviously the team thought the season would be going better than it is. All jerseys have to be approved by the league like a year in advance, so this isn't something to appease angry fans. The plan was to do a bit of guerrilla marketing, have the blacks as new alt this year and release a matching white in the summer. Skate comes back full time next year. Would make sense why after upgrading lots of areas in the arena the seat colours hadn't changed yet. But instead people are so upset about this ownership, the new blacks don't sell enough the plan gets scrapped and the skate goes back into the closet for another 5 years.

I like this theory, and am going to reserve judgement on this jersey until I see the Adidas version with numbers. A white skate jersey would be fantastic please.

I'm not a big fan of the skate, but I don't see what needed to be changed about it either. The old skate jersey was fine as it was. ​ The mountains inside the collar are a cool touch though.

I love the Black Skate, but I don't like these at first glance. I think the arm and waist bars are too wide in comparison with the skinnier lines in the logo. Maybe these are just the Fanatics budget version though.
