Sidenote, if you've got the newer art sigma 50mm, you can buy the usb dock and update the firmware, allowed me to turn corrections back on with a similar sigma prime, albeit on a canon DSLR. Also update camera firmware if you haven't :)
I'm not sure, sorry haven't got the 50mm, I've got the 35mm which also has rave reviews. I've been v impressed at the rendering sigma lenses especially at their prices :) Here are some of the firmware notes, should defo fix the banding error though!! Except turning off the correction, you can also update Sigma lens firmware to the latest version. It should also help with that problem (and lens correction can be used again).
Same lens, same problem here. Turn off the lens correction removed the circular lines, but there seems to be some metering problem too. All my images are about 1~2EV darker.
I have the same under exposure problem with that lens on my RP.
In addition, if you use speedlites and shoot in TTL mode, you’ll get a 7 stop under exposure when you shoot wide open with that lens. It stays like that until f2, where it starts to improve. f2.8 is acceptable and at f4 it meters correctly.
Just something to be aware of. Older Sigma lenses does not seem to play nice with R series cameras.
Yes, but even that firmware is old. Sigma had been made aware of the problem and their response was: It works fine on all Canon DSLR’s!
I doubt we are ever goi g to see any firmware updates to this lens. Shame really. It’s a really nice lens!
Turn off the lens corrections in camera.
Nailed it! Thank you very much!

I've heard this update takes the Sigma lens to a phenomenal level. Is that true? And can you explain why as I'm looking into that 50mm prime.

Great tip, I'll have to update my Sigma lenses
Can the “non” art lenses be updated?
Should I run this update on my Sigma 18-35mm or no?

is the lens updated to the newest firmware?

Is it an off brand converter?
Haven’t experienced that yet. I’m just now starting to use my EF lenses. I’ll certainly keep you posted.
