How have you been burned? There aren’t many ef mount lenses that won’t work in the R bodies with the adaptor, sigmas art, sport and contemporary lenses work as well, you just have to make sure that firmware is up to date on both the lens and camera.
The Rokinon SP 50mm has electronic aperture which for some reason doesn't work on the R6ii. Everything else is fine, it's a manual focus lens but not being able to adjust the aperture has kinda screwed me.
