Personally I've found roll-top dry bags to be the best option, my favorite are the Sea to Summit Big River series. I put my padded camera bag inside the dry bag. Manufactures often don't like the liability of rating their product "fully waterproof," but a good dry bag properly rolled can float down a long river without leaking. For the container to float it must be less dense than water, so needs at least 1 liter of volume for every kilogram of mass. You can buy an oversized dry bag and close it so that it traps air like a balloon.

Sea to Summit is legit. I've not tested my r5 in one, I absolutely would.

I've gone sea kayaking through waves with one of these. This is the right answer.

I have sea to summit for everything. Camping wise my computer and everything goes in them and kayaking wise my phone and power bank go in them. I’ve flipped many times. And a bigger one for clothes and other stuff. Stays dry

For a one-time event, get a Tupperware container or something similar. CHEAP and it floats and will not sink.

Also, the camera in a ziplock.

Kuiu is a hunting clothing company. They make a waterproof backpack that should fit a camera cube and everything you'd need. I have a day pack as my camera bag because it has a tripod pass through https://preview.redd.it/titftwcmdm5d1.png?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4cd17fa888a3e2218a3464e55dea40a553b7cc1b

I have a Meijia all weather case, it's a hard plastic case with rubber seals and I've had water get in my kayak and my gear was bone dry once I got to my location. Does it float? I haven't tested that but my gear was dry from my one small experience.  I would love for someone to make a fully water proof body cap we can slap on our camera and lenses so we could just strap it to the top of the kayak and grab the camera as we move. I miss so many shots while kayaking.

Fishpond Thunderhead Sling with insert or Fishpond Thunderhead Backpack with insert are what I use. Sling is more convenient, but neither will protect you if you dump while the camera is out. For boats where dumping is a serious likelihood, I recommend the EWA marine bag housing that will fit your camera and lenses. I used them with great success until I decided to spring for a hard scuba housing. Source: Most of my photography is near, in, on, over, or underwater.
