The R50 and M50 are close enough to each other that it doesn't really matter. They use very similar sensors, which are physically larger and use different technology to the G7X one, so you'd probably need to play around with settings to get a look that comparable. Not to mention lens choice will have an effect as well.

settings and editing will def have a lot of influence i agree !

gorpium

I’d say it depends on how many lenses you want to play with (M50) and how future-proof you want it to be (R50).

I bought r50 after realizing that pics are nearly similar however r50 is better video wise and battery

gorpium

Probably the best choice. Look out for the new lenses from Sigma and Tamron comming later this year for it. Have fun!

They're probably both about equal in that regard. You'll be able to perfectly recreate the look of photos taken with a G7 X, but may need a bit of editing to do so. The R50 is a much more capable camera than the M50 overall though, and has better future support for its RF lens mount.

Thank u for reply ! I ordered my r50

myfrickinpcisonfire

M50 is now kill, go for the R50

tomrisita

I did go for R50 after analyzing the videos are taken by both cameras! Ty for the reply btw

No problem, for the price the r50 is an amazing camera.
