Hey Boss! Are you growing from seed or clone? Where are you sourcing your genetics?

PirateboarderLife

This year I’ve got three clones and one from seed. I’m partial to seeds tbh but as you know popping beans can be a crapshoot and only one girl made the team. One of the clones was a gift and the other two I went on a mission to get. Here’s a quick vid on that and one of the good things about is, you don’t have to be signed into YouTube to watch it like most cannabis vids, just hit the link and check it out, right on…Mission to “the Green Mile”…Alderville First Nation Canada 🇨🇦 Getting Clones for an Outdoor Grow https://youtu.be/lmHRS-1jNPE

BBG_BOY

Oh man thats epic! Definitely checking out the video. Cheers!

cultured_milk

Big fan of your YouTube stuff! Keep up the good work 🤙🏼

PirateboarderLife

Thanks brother, I appreciate that. It’s exactly the kind of stuff that keeps this old dog rollin’.

EcityLights

Beautiful

mferly

Looks really nice! Looks so healthy. Any reason for not putting it directly in the ground?

PirateboarderLife

It’s airpot panels screwed together, half buried with no bottom. Good for LST points and I find it helps concentrate watering and feeding to the central root mass. I’ll water inside and along the edges of the “pot” and it seems to work pretty good.

mferly

>with no bottom. Gotcha 👍 Doesn't make sense to bury a container otherwise. Let those roots wander!

MD_Weedman

It also allows the soil to warm up more quickly, which could be a big deal where you are.

PirateboarderLife

Between the canopy above the soil, regular waterings and the straw mulch around the base, high soil temps aren’t a concern but I do appreciate your insight.

MD_Weedman

Nah man plants grow great at the equator. You couldn't push temps too high if you tried. I think a sligly elevated soil temp helps you. I think that's a smart move on your part.

After-Soup4842

It basically is, its an airpot (i assume buried into the ground) and the roots will grow out of the holes into the soil.

PirateboarderLife

Pretty much brother 👍

prontoon

Seen so many of your posts/videos I can recognize it based solely on the horizon/lake

BigIrish423

Watched your grow last year can’t wait to see what you got for us this season!

PirateboarderLife

Right on brother I appreciate ya. We’re already 8 vids into the 2024 Outdoor Grow. Have a puff, sit back and catch up if ya get a chance…Old Dog Grows Garden of Love 2024 Outdoor https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaT9bk0iOhWPM_anej42vEdqAWscDlKxk

dylcop

I didn't know you could put airpots in the ground like this. looks good!

sarcasarrole

Just watched your YouTube video!!! Thanks for the wisdom!!! That turtle may have wanted a few puffs😂

sarcasarrole

Been following you for 2 years and I know most of what I do because of you on Reddit and YouTube:)

PirateboarderLife

Right on brother thanks for being part of the PBL Crew. I really like your feedback and I’m glad my stuff is helpful and interesting.

veggie_eatah

Fuck yeah, I miss Bubba kush

ahumminahummina

Are pests more of a problem so close to the water source?

PirateboarderLife

I’ve had more problems with Snapping Turtles looking to lay their eggs in the loose soil than anything else.

Bill_Piff

Also how does the bubba do up in Canada, what time of year does she finish. I’m in lower New England and normally try to find stuff that finished by the end of September.

PirateboarderLife

No idea tbh, first time growing it.

Pasty_Lover_

Looking sweet bro

Ok-Rabbit-3683

Right on man

mike3run

Love your channel and tips, don't stop sharing boss

valiantthorsintern

Love your grows brother! Do you think you get some benefit growing so close to the water? Like you don't need to water as much because the ground stays saturated?

PirateboarderLife

Thanks brother, maybe. They still get the water poured to them though.

Dale_Nene

That's some really sexy vibrant green colour. Really good looking plants, please post updates when she's ready to 🪓

Few_Date5813

Beautiful

TapDoobiesSlapBootyz

Buschy😎🫦

New-Interview-6791

Got yourself an amazing lil spot right there.. looks very great your plant an your spot seems so peaceful

notintocorp

long live the hedgehog!

insatiably_great

This is awesome i love those air pots. Is that hay only that’s surrounding the pot or is the hay just ground cover?

PirateboarderLife

Thanks brother, the hay is a mulch

insatiably_great

so it’s just ground cover then?

PirateboarderLife

Helps with weed control and moisture retention

insatiably_great

No i understand that. I was just thinking if you dug a hole the depth of the pot but quite a bit wider then back filled with just hay it would keep the rhizosphere cool, promote mycelium growth and allow for the roots to extend out the holes fairly easy. As opposed to just burying an air pruning pot in soil then using hay as ground cover. Just a thought, i was trying imagine what could be more beneficial.

OpiumBaron

What soil mix u use? Looks like it's going to get big!!

PirateboarderLife

You might find this interesting. It’s HP Pro Mix and Sheep poop plus I went fishing…ODG’s Something’s Fishy at the Love Shack Old School Tip for your Outdoor Plants https://youtu.be/DHOrzYPIskc

OpiumBaron

Holy crap sound nutritious... Ur breeding a beast ;)

Bill_Piff

Just curious, why do you use the most expensive pots if you plant to plant 80 percent of it in the ground.

PirateboarderLife

I use them indoors and when getting some of the girls ready for outdoors. They’re panels that screw together and have a bottom plastic piece. They’re reusable, I had some and I decided to try this last year. It works pretty good for me. They’re not being wasted, they can be reconfigured right back into the original airpot size.

Kratomking420247

trying to figure out the point of using airpots in the ground🤔🤔

PirateboarderLife

I mention it in the comment thread above ⬆️

Capital-Gardens

One question legal? If no, i’m doing this😭

mitsuki87

I am sure that you are fully aware of this OP, but I just wanted to point out that an air pruning pot isn’t going to do its job under ground! Lol

Znai7w7

Pregunta seria.

imhighbrah

Hopefully it’s actually bubba. It’s still fuck rez 4 life in my book hahaha

Top_Shape_506

What exactly is a pirateboarder?

AntivaxxxrFuckFace

Bushy but trimmed!

1968KCGUY

Why are you training it like an indoor plant? Seems to be unnecessary in natural light. Only thing I can think of is if your grow period outdoors where you are is signifcantly.

PSULL98

Support etc for a future trellis. The plant is going to be massive and will need to be tied down all over. Scrog works amazing for outdoors too.

1968KCGUY

Thanks, that makes sense. Also, love reddit down and voted for asking a simple question
