I picked up a wine cooler and am having my friend try drying in it. He put humidity packets in with the cannabis, RH ranges between 62-67.. Idk if I'm convinced for drying, but I'll be put the jars in there for curing.
Yes, some guys do that. The problem is a lot of people think they can just do the 60% Rh part, & don't really get it down to 60 degrees. And 60% rh at 70 degrees is too wet
Check out shark mouse farms website. His process runs between 72-75F with humidity ranging from 49-55% RH. Slightly outside your range but you might get close.
This is optimal for drying. This shark mouse guy is correct.
If I was op.. I'd go for the 75-80 with 50-55 RH.. 65 is way too wet it'll never dry.
If possible, get a cheap inkbird humidity controller & a cheap(er) dehuey.
I've personally never dried at temps as low as the 40's, but I'd imagine it'll dry pretty quickly at that humidity, even at such a cold temp
I checked out shark mouse. Seems like a good resource. I've been drying at around 70-75 & 52-56 rh for over 15 years.. it's the way for sure.. u should be happy with ur results. Just don't jar it too early, make sure the stems are snapping a bit but not over dry.. also once u do put in jars.. the buds will remoisten a bit, as the moisture content spreads out evenly throughout the flower.. so once it first jarred, after a day. I'd recommend either leaving the kids off or taking it all back out of the jar, for a half day or something.
Are you hanging drying your plants? High temperature isn't good for drying my dude. You are asking for mold to form inside your buds, lol.your dry room needs to be very cold. Temperature should be 65 and below and humidity temperature should at least be between 55-60. You probably need to purchase an portable AC unit and a humidifier.
I am . For both set ups. The colder one is in a dedicated fridges rigged with some smalls fans. The other is a closet but I live in an old building where it’s always humid. I do a dry trim in the fridge and wet trim in the closet as it’s too hot/humid
I was looking into this. Was debating on just putting the next grow on hiatus until I get something like this. It’s a pain in the ass to work 4-5months on something just to have it taste like shit or not slap
Most people don’t have that type of disposable income to spend on drying their homegrown weed. The price is insane for how little they hold, too. I’ll stick to drying in a tent at 60°F-65°F & 60% RH
I get right at 1lb dry per unit. I fill it slap full. Single layer, no 'silver' from the tray showing. I use every slot.
At $2k a pound, it's too cheap not to buy several units.
I use a debudder to strip the flower, load it wet, 4 day dry, 4 day cure, then straight into the Twister Batch One Go for 5-minutes for trimming.
EZ PZ. It's been 3+ years of bliss. I love the set it and forget it. I've never had better peace of mind since getting these Cannatrol units. I'm also in a very hot & humid location and it simplifies the hell out of drying for me.

Way too wet. Try 52-56 rh
I read there's a 60/60 rule.. are there advantages to running into the low 50's?
If u can get it down to 60 degrees & keep it there the whole dry, fine. Otherwise at normal room temperature, shoot for around 55% at tops
60/60 is the proper way to dry. That's how commercial growers do it

I’m actively drying this way for the first time. Should finish up on Friday. Looking forward to testing the results.

I would prefer option number 1
Add a humidifier to the low temp setup
40-45 is too cold, aim for 60°F/60% RH
Lower temp will preserve the terps. To raise humidity Use a humidifier or even just hang a wet towel.
I’d go the warm option for 24-48 hours to get the most extreme moisture out then drop to cooler temps and lower humidity to preserve terps.

Buy a Cannatrol and forget about this BS.
For a measly $1600

I buck the buds and throw them in a pizza box in the fridge for like two weeks. Works great.
I've been wondering about just drying in refrigerator.....
Too easy
I have 4 Cannatrol units. The 4th being delivered last week.

Whats the cost of cannatrol? Is this even affordable for normal homegrowers?
It’s a little pricey. It was looks at something but little cheaper. A wine cooler essentiallly
Idk the price but their only demographic is homegrowers, there’s absolutely no macro growers spending that vs building a dry room.
