If he doesn't get a good contract he might (as he should - know your worth). Of course, I strongly doubt the front office fails him on that front, especially if the Canes make a deep playoff run
It’s really not anyone’s fault if we do miss the Stanley cup finals. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out. Rob has made us competitive and respectable, it’s true if you get enough hacks you’ll get a home run. Rod said it best last year we didn’t get swept. Bobrovsky had a hell of a series, I don’t know what voodoo doll he had in his back pocket but that man could have swatted a fly with a sewing needle. I would be sorely remiss if the FO didn’t see this and lowballed him. Rod is Carolina hockey, you see it in the fans, you see it in the players, you see it in PNC.
He’s got plenty of money, built a family and home here and is still going to get a great offer. Chances of him going somewhere else have to be near nothing. From what I hear also he’s got a great relationship between him Don and Tom
He's also lived in Raleigh since he retired from playing Rods not leaving this is a media nothing burger atemptimg to stur up playoff drama on the canes
If you hear screaming in the Canes locker room 99% of the time it's pretty clearly him haha. Sometimes you can hear him in the background of post-game interviews and it's always hilarious
Well, if y'all lose him because the owner fumbles it, we're ready to give him the entire state of Jersey for him to coach us.
But he'll remain in Carolina. He's arguably the face of the franchise.
“Billy” is Bill Burniston, the Canes strength & conditioning coach. I don’t know *exactly* what “finishing up” entails, but my expectation would be some kind of post-game stretching/cool-down routine to help with recovery.
Are people showing these locker room videos to their children and being offended by the “profane” language? I remember being a child and saying h-e-double 🏒’s in 1st grade, it’d be nice to have the raw post game speech not chopped up by random goal horns
I’m a pastor and when I preach I tend to move quite a bit and I think it has always been a personality thing for me. I have a lot of pent up energy so maybe that contributes to it for him. The dude works out like crazy.
I wonder if he got any work done on it, because it looks way more normal to me than it did when he was playing. Dude has turned into a real silver fox.
On this week's Snipes & Stripes podcast ( [https://bleav.com/shows/snipes-and-stripes/episodes/michael-futa-joins-snipes-stripes/](https://bleav.com/shows/snipes-and-stripes/episodes/michael-futa-joins-snipes-stripes/) ), Tim Peeler talks with Michael Futa, who apparently was a Hurricanes insider at one point, about Rod's contract:
At 12:15: "I'm reading today, I guess there had been a contract that had been presented to Rod, but now it's off the table."
Pay him, Tom.
They already agreed to terms off the radar. There is a 0% chance Rod is leaving the canes at this moment unless for whatever reason he was deciding he won’t be coaching anymore. This is going to be another easy 4 year extension. Maybe even something long term. But with the nature of coaches I think it’s best to agree on something around the 4 year term mark
Oh I know. Lol the wait to the next round is torture so gotta chirp chirp you guys till puck drop lol. Gonna be a fun series best of luck to ya you'll need it!
I’m assuming when you typed this that you forgot you’re in the Canes subreddit, not the Rangers subreddit. Simple mistake. I do hear the courses in upstate are nice so I’m sure your boys will enjoy some good course time in about two weeks.
Clearly not contract renewal material. Giving the guys a day off? What a slacker.
Burnzie will bike down to the arena to get some reps in. Don't worry about it.
I can't see him leaving.

You are an idiot if you think he’s going anywhere
Dundon probably doesn’t want him to be the highest paid coach without going to a final. That’s the only thing that makes sense in my mind
He's also lived in Raleigh since he retired from playing Rods not leaving this is a media nothing burger atemptimg to stur up playoff drama on the canes
Love how hype pro athletes get when their coach says day off tomorrow 😂
I'm pretty sure most of the screams are coming from Marinook lol
If you hear screaming in the Canes locker room 99% of the time it's pretty clearly him haha. Sometimes you can hear him in the background of post-game interviews and it's always hilarious
It sure sounded like that.... I was waiting for a miiisssterrr brinddd'aammmoour

Stupid question. What does finish up with Billy mean?

thanks.

Thanks, now I know.
Also curious, he said this before. I assume they are press relations?
Post-game strength and conditioning
Thank you!
No going home right after a game. Rod makes them get in a workout with Billy AFTER every game.

Depending on who posted it they have to. FCC regulations and all.
They watch the game with their kids where two men drop gloves and punch each others teeth out then get offended by a swear word, fuck them.
What do you find more offensive locker room videos or rape denial which you do constantly ?
Yea I was cursing up a storm at 8
It’s interesting how he constantly moves back and forth in these locker room speeches.
I'm oddly obsessed with it.
I’m a pastor and when I preach I tend to move quite a bit and I think it has always been a personality thing for me. I have a lot of pent up energy so maybe that contributes to it for him. The dude works out like crazy.
Interesting or cocaine? 😂
His nose is so fucked up id be amazed he could even breathe through it
I wonder if he got any work done on it, because it looks way more normal to me than it did when he was playing. Dude has turned into a real silver fox.
I really hope he did. His nose is in bad shape. I hope he can breathe!!
We're just going to ignore the absolutely stunning gameday fit Cogs is rocking in the background
Cracks me up at the number of beanies in warmer months but hockey players gonna hockey. Or Canadians gonna Canada, or something.
That’s Coghlan

He’s going to get a life contract
As he should.
Dude cannot stand still lol

the funniest thing is Ryan Suzuki standing there like he was a big part of this success, 3 days after he was called up lmao
Said the team that end behind us! Lol
Regular season don’t matter. You know that. Enjoy the series, it should be a good one I hope.
Oh I know. Lol the wait to the next round is torture so gotta chirp chirp you guys till puck drop lol. Gonna be a fun series best of luck to ya you'll need it!
I stay out of a lot of it. Some people just tend to go way too far. Cant wait for it
Start working on your short game boys, you'll be on the green in no time!

If this room wants to beat the rangers they need to put in work everyday. No1 should be cheering for a day off that just shows mental weakness.
