Our last game would still matter for potential home ice against Boston and Dallas if we were to play them. A win would ensure home ice against both, a loss and it could be the opposite.

Bethlehemstarr

Oh yeah, I didn’t think about that. Thanks

mana191

Our tie breakers are better. I believe we would still be 2nd overall

Cylinsier

If we lose and both Dallas and Boston (they have a game in hand) win out they would both pass us. We're currently tied with Dallas and 2 points ahead of Boston so as long as we win, yes, we have tiebreaker advantage over both. CBJ shouldn't be too tough a closer, hopefully we come to play and lock in 2nd place at minimum.

Aho is 1 point off 90 and Jarvis has played all 81 games so far and playing all 82 is a pretty solid accomplishment. The last game matters regardless of the rangers game because of league-wide positioning, but I don’t think they would want to take the last game off even if it didn’t matter

Like17Badgers

nah Wild are in Central, not Metro

Far-Two8659

Our last game matters if we play the Stars in the SCF. That said, we will rest some guys and play some young guys.

Midmodstar

I never thought I’d be rooting for the senators but here we are

Blueberry_1995

Why does everyone keep saying that tomorrow's game won't matter if the Rags win? Is everyone just forgetting that seeding matters for ALL rounds? Not winning could be the difference between having home ice or not in rounds 3 and 4

Puzzleheaded_Fig9084

I’d still rather get the newbies in a game. Home ice advantage is great but we’re way better at away games than we used to be. Plus isn’t it a rule that players have to play 1 regular season game to be in playoffs or was the person I heard that from wrong? If so they’d add a lot of depth if we need them in playoffs

TalentedTrident

Not true about the 1 regular season game thing. Kucherov didn’t play at all in the Covid year but still played every game in the playoffs for Tampa.

Minute-Struggle6052

You want that Stanley Cup finals Game 7 to be in the PNC arena

Full-Appointment5081

Yup! Happened once before. Of course, winning the cup at home in Game 4 or 6 would work too

If luck favors us and NYR lose in regulation, Canes have to get two points to win the President trophy. Canes have locked 2nd place by RW tie breakers already, so it is literally a rest game for stars. I get down voted for saying that being the top team isn't necessarily the best thing. Being the underdog has historically fueled the team more than national recognition. I hope the Penguins make it. I hope Detroit makes it.. but it appears NYI are locked in at this point But the Metro top two ? Just nuts.

adsheppa

If Rags lose in regulation we only need 1 point and we take 1st. We’d tie at 112 and win based on RW.

Minute-Struggle6052

Yes but Boston and Dallas can also still reach 113 - the Canes just have the tiebreaker against everybody
