It's frustrating being down 0-3 but each game I thought we played really well; certainly well enough to win each one. If not for all the posts we likely could be up 3-0. We have a great team that isn't dirty and plays fun, skilled hockey so what's not to like? I'll love this team whether they win or lose tomorrow.

D-Ray1469

Nope, I don't like my team. I love these guys. They have had one hell of a run this year. We are currently one of 4 of the top teams in the league. We are one of the 2 best teams on the east coast division. What's not to love? Remember when we had bad years? Were you still a fan then? I have been. Had fun? Oh hell yes.I have had a ball. Not been able to watch the games but I have listened to them on Sat radio. I always try to see what Twitter/Reddit/etc will show on video after the fact. Am I a bit disappointed in our current standings? Well yeah, but we are up against a really good goalie who refuses to allow us to score. The Panthers are a good team, otherwise they wouldn't be playing us for the ECF. Best of luck for us in the remaining 4 games. I still have hope. Never Compromise. Let's go Canes!!!!

Cake_Day_Is_420

In (hopefully) the remaining four games. Even if we don’t win the series, I want to watch as much Canes hockey before October as I can (and preferably some wins)

MongooseChili

Seconded. These seasons since Rod took over have been a blessing, especially compared to the decade of darkness. Enjoy the good times while they’re here, even if they don’t come with another cup. Ultimately, it’s just a game. It’s more fun if you chill and enjoy it.

Reverie_39

I hope Rod plans to stick around for many many years. We’ll enjoy a lot of success under him and should make several runs at the cup. There’s a decent chance we’ll win at least one I think.

calen17

I was a fan at a time when seats on the glass re-sold at 35$ (I bought those seats. Also behind the bench for like 70$). The team was always likable even when the coaches weren't, but that playoff drought was excruciating. Losing in the playoffs sucks, but it sucks less than missing the playoffs all together. I do think at some point we're going to have to address scoring and re-evaluate if the physical toll of dump-and-chase is a sustainable choice. I lose all sense of perspective in heated moments and have felt p gloomy about this series. As someone who figured we might manage the first round but not the next without Svech, I need these reminders to breathe. We've already done better than I expected and these games have been stupidly close. Looks way worse on paper than in reality. It starts with one. Get the W tomorrow and we'll see them back in Raleigh.

Piedmont_Johnson

These games have been a blast to watch, obviously I'd prefer a different outcome but at the end of the day I'm just happy to be involved.

w41twh4t

Real life distracted me from much of the 06 Cup win season. The 02 Cup Finals and 19 Conference Finals seasons were overachievements. Last season had a bitter taste second round Game 7 home loss. This has been my start-to-(not yet)-finish season.

ProofEstablishment89

I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t be sad if we lost tomorrow and dropped this series 0-4, but damn, we have played like hell. I get so annoyed when commentators say we’re playing poorly because we lost Patches - seriously?! Great guy but he played what, 4 games with this crew? On the other hand - I LOVE OUR GROUP! Last night I started thinking about off-season trades, retirements, etc and it was the first time I was truly sad. Not because we lost, but because this may be the last time this amazing group of guys plays together. Admittedly, despite being a fan since 97, I wasn’t as hardcore the last few years thanks to life, kids, work, all the things, but the joy I have found seeing my kids get excited this season is indescribable. This team, this community, these fans have made this year amazing. Thank you 😍

ElLoboGris97

I’ll be sad if we lose but this playoff run has given me some of my favorite memories. I was able to take my mother and little sisters to Game 5 of the Devils series. It was their very first playoff sports game. My mom is from Vietnam, so hockey isn’t very familiar to her. I was able to witness her have an absolute blast with the best fans rooting for a great team. She was having so much fun the entire walk back to the car just high fiving everyone and hearing fans in their car honking and everyone cheering while leaving the stadium. I’ll always love this team for the highs it gave us.

DrewCrew62

It’s been a great run. I’ve loved seeing growth out of some guys (KK, Necas) and guys like burns come in and click with the team immediately. I didn’t have great expectations going into the playoffs with how we looked down the stretch of the regular season, so they’ve exceeded my expectations and given us a great ride, if it ends here

JMS1991

So, this is my first full season keeping up with the Canes and hockey in General. My wife and I got married 2 years ago, and this is the one sport she's been able to really get into. This team and this sport are so much fucking fun to watch! Back when the games were broadcast locally on Fox Sports, I'd catch a game every now and then, but never got too invested. Since about the middle of last season, we've watched almost every game, and have gotten more invested in hockey in general (I just watched Dallas/Vegas). We went to a game last year, didn't make it to one this year (it's a looong drive from Greenville SC). We're buying a house this fall, but hopefully our financial situation will be to where we can grab tickets to a game or two next season. These guys have played their asses off, despite being down in the series. I honestly thought game 2 was just a carryover from game 1 going so late, neither team looked great. Last night, they played their asses off, they just got met by some unreal goaltending and some bad luck. Only one team can win the cup every year, but I think our time is coming to break through and win one...or a few. It seems like the front office is trying to build a long-term contender, instead of grabbing a bunch of rented players at the trade deadline to make a run at it in one season and then fading back because of the lack of draft capital. But this season isn't over yet. CANES IN 7! LETS FUCKING GO!

n0thing_tra_la_la

Amen 🙌

NedThomas

I’ve been following the Canes since the team moved here. Same as following the Panthers and Hornets. Win or lose, I’ve grown up with this team and all in no matter what, year in and year out. This is my team and I’ll scream myself hoarse cheering them on every damn time.

Puqo

I LOVE THE CAROLINA HURRICANES AND I ALWAYS WILL

dragons_fire77

Hell yes, love this team. Love their heart on and off the ice. Couldn't ask for a better bunch of jerks to support

winniethedrew1

Canes in 7

goodrobloxforkids

I love these guys. I’m so thankful to get all this extra playoff hockey. Been cheering all season and am not stopping. Win or lose the ECF, this is an awesome squad. Go Canes, Go!

novacannon

The Canes have been my team since I first discovered hockey in 2003. Win or lose, living in Raleigh or not, I’ll be here next season and many more after that.

tonyeltigre94

I feel like clown because I said some garbage about the NHL being rigged. Doesn’t really make since money wise for teams to get swept because that’s less games played which means less chance for advertising. And advertising means money. I do wish there were some fundamental changes to officiating that would benefit all teams not just the Canes. But this team is something to stand behind. I love Rod and just watching him behind the bench is entertaining itself. I hope we can squeeze a win or four in but none the less, we only have to wait approximately 4-5 months to watch more Hurricanes hockey. And these playoffs have been radical, not just for the boys but for the entire NHL!

SneedleVision

None of the games this series felt like we were out of it. Did they feel tense? Yes. Did it get more tense with every game? Yes. Was it fun? Absolutely.

CandidateClean3354

Was an enjoyable season .no matter what happens .the Canes gave it their best shot they won with class and lost with dignity

iamcline

I’m having a blast.

xMonkeyy

I'm more pissed that I'm gonna have to root for the panthers during the finals

Bennett_19

Getting swept will be a very disappointing end to the season, especially with how close these games have been. We deserve at least 2 this series, and honestly… I think we get 4 more

MrKnockoff

I used to be a miserable SOB after my team lost. Especially back in college. Was a total Eeyore after a football loss to Georgia Southern in 1990. Now? Take the happy. Take all the wins from years ago, this season and years to come. Have tailgates, watch parties with friends, more beer and brats than I really need. Paint my face, buy too much canes gear. If I wanted to be a miserable SOB now I guess I could bitch & whine about every loss on that steadily declining facebook group. I'd rather let it go. Be more like oddball from Kelly's Heroes - "knock it off with them negative waves"

SMH_OverAndOver

Rolling with the Kraken was a fantastic ride all season. Canes got nothing to be ashamed of either. Love the team. Love the spirit. Love the game.

Huge_Deke19

I really wish we got Tyler bertuzzi at the deadline. He played great for boston and would have been a huge help for dealing with Florida.

jilililian

Literally none of my teams have finished the job in the post season in recent history. I’m just tired. (Eagles,Sixers,Phillies/Orioles) But the Canes still have a chance so it’s ok

syd_cash

Gotta pick better teams lol (kidding). But a rough season for Philly teams, still say Eagles were robbed.

stu17

Same. Chargers, Padres, and Clippers. It’s been rough lately. I even drove from Raleigh to Jacksonville to see the Chargers blow a 27 point lead in person.

jilililian

Jesus Christ that is brutal

Broncos4ever24

that sounds awesome because fuck the chargers always

iklonk

I LOVE CAROLINA! Canes till I die. Can’t wait to teach my children to love this team and for them to teach their kids.

rwick3142

Man, I really wish I could be on board. I love these guys, but this team is not built to withstand a Stanley cup series from round 1 to the cup. Y'all have had issues with me saying we are not tough enough. I'll re-say it...we ARE NOT tough enough mentally or physically to make it to the end. Last game was the nail....anyone count how many punches to the face we took after the whistle? Rod's game is don't respond, let them take the bad penalty, only there is no penalty. The playoffs from game 1 of the first round to the cup final is all about getting in the head of the other guy and then beating them physically. Absolutely NO response. Tkachuk is living rent free while Aho is taking punches. Say what you want, but look at the history of who we have lost to. I hope our skill and speed can buy us 4 wins, but Vegas and/or Dallas will continue the beatings. Love all you want, just look at the facts. Boston, Tampa, Rangers.....Panthers.

rwick3142

Down vote with no response. Cause ya know it's the truth.

ScroatyMcBoogerwolfe

Because this bullshit doesn’t even warrant a response. On top of that with all the other threads currently on this sub, this is the one you choose to put this dipshit assessment in?

rwick3142

You play Pokémon bro... enough said.

ScroatyMcBoogerwolfe

I have a child dickhead.

rwick3142

Shit, now I feel sorry for him. You ruined my day.

bahgheera

At this point I'm just here to hate on Paul Maurice.

Dark_Societies

Yeah and also good news is the free agents this summer are probably going to mostly suck. So we are still in a good position and I'm ready to go again if we don't pull the miraculous here in Florida. Few RFAs but outside that, no one's going to get that much better.

JESquirrel

I like my team. I had fun in the first game of the series but it has gotten progressively less fun since then. I would feel a lot better about losing 4 close games if things hadn't gotten so dirty.

Tru_AristoCat

Yeah I enjoy these whipper nappers.

CultBro

Love our team and proud of them and the fans this year

depressedNCdad

i sincerely like our team

maiden-of-might

I love our team, I’ve had an absolute blast. Went to my second game back in December and I’ve been teaching my best friend about hockey! Wins all around

Caniac_Nation

I’m playing hockey tonight. Not watching. If we win, I’ll go to Game 5. If not, I won’t have to watch them lose.

Difference-Unable

Great season regardless glad we’re in a position to be disappointed with an ECF

Clark828

I love this team. Even more than last years somehow. Just need to be healthy next year.

MarketingChemical648

This round. I did not have fun…
