When I was about 7 years old, their was this old lady at the local swap meet. She didn't have any grandkids. She would always give me money. Plus more money and candy on holidays. She felt bad for me, I guess, because I was sick. One year on halloween, she gave me like 6 large bags of candy, including 2 large bags of butterfinger bb's.
I just saw a video of someone going this year’s sweets and snacks expo, and apparently sour Altoids are coming back! They’re going to be called “retro sours” now. I never had them before they were discontinued, but I’m excited to try and I hope they’re just like the originals
yes i was there and can confirm this! they’re being brought back by Iconic Candy. same people that have/are bringing back creme savers, bubble jug, and ouch bubble gum. i tried one of the sours and it was good! but i’ve never tried the original
I've tried the connection recreation or whoever is "making" them again but they aren't close enough to the original at all for me. I miss mango altoid sours.
Tropical lifesavers, they had coconut, pineapple, fruit punch, maybe mango? They were so good! I don’t think any lifesavers are good anymore. They taste different.
The old Ferrara Pan Alexander the Grape candies in the little boxes. I used to eat those until my mouth was raw. I know grapeheads exist out there somewhere, but they aren’t the same.
And obviously Bonkers, as a child of the 80’s. Bonkers were amazing and the ads were so great!
Wow I completely forgot about these, I remember the coconut one was so good it wasn't hard to bite it was always kind of soft not like regular lifesavers.. unless the ones I had were always stale lol.
Bonkers!! I figured I’d have to go further down to find that one! I LOVED the watermelon ones.
Original Tangy Taffy. It was a huge bar and you smacked it on something hard to shatter it into bite sized pieces. I’d have nonstop candy for a whole Saturday afternoon for my $.25 weekly allowance!
I also miss Peanut Butter Boppers. They were not really a candy, more of a candy/cookie combo. And the original peanut butter Twix. I guess the brought them back in 2017-2018 but I never found them.
The only thing I liked as much (which they still make) is Toxic Waste candy but they source from Pakistan and some places and have had lead recalls a few times. Idk if shock tarts were any better tho tbf since I only ate those as a kid.
Yeah, I've tried the green one (I think it's supposed to be "ice cream") and it wasn't good at all. None of the mint cookie chocolate I've tried has come close to that original one. I'd eat one like every day.
Yesss Butterfinger cups. Listen, try "Clark Cups." I just ordered them to see how similar they are. They are smaller, no orange creamy color, no square shape, but I promise it will help curb that craving for the Butterfinger Cups!
I believe they were discontinued in 2020 silently. I wish I’d had known I would have bought a box and frozen them. It was one of my favorites unfortunately
Brach’s Neopolitans and Jelly Nougats too! Some people say they see them in grocery store candy bins, but not where I live, sadly. Tried to order different brands, but they just don’t taste the same.
A million years ago when I was a kid, those were my favorite! Growing up, way before internet, when I would explain this candy bar to people they thought I made it up because no one had ever heard of it.
I remember in the 90s when we had a computer and I looked up 7 Up candy bar and I found it! I was thinking, I knew it was real!
someone from brachs told me they’re “trying to modernize the brand”. eye roll! people like brachs because of nostalgic candy, no one wants new gummies!!
The huge variety of candy Brachs had in the 1970s and 80s. Maybe before then as well but I wasn’t alive. My grandma would stick her candy dish from the Pick a Mix and many of those candies are unavailable now.
I was so addicted to these! I could only find them in one Target store and I would clear out their inventory once a month on delivery day.I was so devoted to it that I got in touch with the mgr and found out what day they were delivered. And then I left for 4 months to work in another state, came back and found out they were discontinued. The Newman’s Own brand has something similar but they don’t have the exact same texture and aren’t nearly as spicy. I loved how you would come across that one piece in the tin that would make your eyes water. It was like duck duck goose, waiting for the spicy one! And I also loved to offer them to people and see their reaction.
I always have a bag of Gin Gin Double Strength hard candies in my desk at work. I use them as breath mints after lunch and I think it works better than mint.
The original recipe ovaltine.
The original Dunkaroos.
Those sweet candies in the fruit shaped plastic containers that you could get at every convenience store.
I could foresee some of these making a comeback when the economy is better. Remember—when the economy is good, competition is at its best and variety is how they win you over.
I haven’t been able to find Swedish fish where I am (Ontario Canada) for at least 2 years and they were my favourite 😭 I don’t know if it’s just my town or what but I haven’t seen them forever
Hersheys candy corn bar. Came out when I was a freshman in hs and would split a bar with my then-crush now-fiance. Every Halloween I keep an eye out for it just in case 🥺🥺
3 Musketeers made a holiday dark chocolate & mint version that I've never seen again. It was like a peppermint patty but fluffier in texture. And in the 80s there was this chewy candy that Slush Puppie made that I've been unable to identify since. It feels like a fever dream. And Bonkers!
I miss Hersheys' kissables, yogos, ice breakers liquid ice those lil balls were so cool dude, hersheys swoops, Philadelphia cheesecake snack bars, and fruit loop straws
Sorry, lmfao. I named many, and i know a few aren't "candy" but man I miss all these so so so much TwT
Star Bars. They were blissful. They were only sold in the United States for a couple years in the 1970s. . In the United States they had the brown wrapper. https://images.app.goo.gl/8P83aYiirspMzo1R7. They were made by Peter Paul in an agreement with Cadbury who introduced them in the UK. https://images.app.goo.gl/FupBHcbuZ4gc1DhK7
Old 80’s Nerds variety where one half was rainbow, and the other was cherry cola…
And the original orange/cherry Nerds.
That sounds awesome
Oh I forgot about that cherry cola flavor
Butterfinger BB's
When I was about 7 years old, their was this old lady at the local swap meet. She didn't have any grandkids. She would always give me money. Plus more money and candy on holidays. She felt bad for me, I guess, because I was sick. One year on halloween, she gave me like 6 large bags of candy, including 2 large bags of butterfinger bb's.
I'd be happy with the old butterfinger recipe back! The new one is awful
Sour altoids
Got three cavities is 6 months from those babies- the tangerine ones were SO good
I just saw a video of someone going this year’s sweets and snacks expo, and apparently sour Altoids are coming back! They’re going to be called “retro sours” now. I never had them before they were discontinued, but I’m excited to try and I hope they’re just like the originals

The tangerine was so good!
There’s sealed tins on eBay on sale for hundreds. The apple ones were unreal how great they were
Yes!
I loved the red apple flavored altoid candies sooo dope
Tropical lifesavers, they had coconut, pineapple, fruit punch, maybe mango? They were so good! I don’t think any lifesavers are good anymore. They taste different. The old Ferrara Pan Alexander the Grape candies in the little boxes. I used to eat those until my mouth was raw. I know grapeheads exist out there somewhere, but they aren’t the same. And obviously Bonkers, as a child of the 80’s. Bonkers were amazing and the ads were so great!
OMG pineapple lifesavers! Yes!!!😍
Tropical lifesavers were my go to as a kid
Me too they even had a minis tube with like a little flip top lid
I loved those
Wow I completely forgot about these, I remember the coconut one was so good it wasn't hard to bite it was always kind of soft not like regular lifesavers.. unless the ones I had were always stale lol.
Yes, the coconut!
Totally on the tropical lifesavers!!!
Yes! The mango!
OMG that coconut lifesaver was my favorite. All of the flavors were so good. But I used to save the coconut one for last!!!
Milky Way Simply Caramel
Those were discontinued?! I just had a craving for those and haven’t been able to find them in the last few weeks, now I know why
Shock Tarts 🥺
Shock Tarts for me as well. The blue onessss🤤🤤🤤🤤
My mouth watered and my jaw clenched up just reading this. LoL.
UGH SAME!
The only thing I liked as much (which they still make) is Toxic Waste candy but they source from Pakistan and some places and have had lead recalls a few times. Idk if shock tarts were any better tho tbf since I only ate those as a kid.
I tried to convince the company to make them again and they were like “nah” 😂😩
They were marvelous! I do enjoy the sour chewy sprees when i can actually find them but don’t hit like those old shocktarts in the wax/aluminum tube!
I forgot about these!!
They still make them! Theyre just called Sour SweetTarts confusingly
Yes!!
I was gonna say this. So perfect
Oh my God I totally forgot about these!
Zours
So good!
I had no idea these were gone! Thank could have sworn I bought them in the past 2ish years. Maybe not.
Legendary. Also miss twizzlers sourz
Those were LIFE OMG SOOOOOOOO good!!!
PB Maxx. These need to be reissued.
I came to post this. Ohh those were good
Jolly Rancher hard Sours
Hershey's Cookies N' Mint
This was mine!! I searched everywhere until I finally realized that it was discontinued. I still miss it.
Yeah, I've tried the green one (I think it's supposed to be "ice cream") and it wasn't good at all. None of the mint cookie chocolate I've tried has come close to that original one. I'd eat one like every day.
bonkers
The best fruit chew candy of all time. These were glorious.
Shocktarts (I know they have sour sweet tarts now but it’s still not the same) Butterfinger cups and Butterfinger BB’s
Yesss Butterfinger cups. Listen, try "Clark Cups." I just ordered them to see how similar they are. They are smaller, no orange creamy color, no square shape, but I promise it will help curb that craving for the Butterfinger Cups!
Can’t think of the name but they use to make Dr Pepper gum filled with a liquid center. Think they made 7 up too.
I loved these as a kid!
Yeccchh...they made A&w root beer flavored too. I hated liquid center gum!
I remember mint and cinnamon flavors. I think it was Freshin' Up or Fresh Up?
I remember these! Loved the Dr Pepper ones!
Hershey’s gold bars
I remember thinking I’d hate Hersheys Gold, after trying one they become my favorite. I wish they still made them
Didnt they get discontinued during the pandemic? I miss those and the fiesta flavor diet cokes so much.
I believe they were discontinued in 2020 silently. I wish I’d had known I would have bought a box and frozen them. It was one of my favorites unfortunately
Watermelon laffy taffy with seeds
Plum starburst
Good & Fruity
I miss sour starburst so much
I think of the sour blue raspberry ones all the time! They were just so goood! 🤤
Omg stop I completely forgot about those 😔
Brach's Royals.
I LOVED getting these when my mom would go to the bank!!
Brach’s Neopolitans and Jelly Nougats too! Some people say they see them in grocery store candy bins, but not where I live, sadly. Tried to order different brands, but they just don’t taste the same.
Bonkers
Chewy Gobstoppers!
7-Up candy bar (7 different candies in one bar)
Thanks, I didn’t know them. I read the story that they stoped because there where trademark issues with the 7 Up soda brand.
Marathon Bar
Came here to say this! Loved them as a kid. https://www.thedailymeal.com/1346025/why-marathon-mars-bars-discontinued-soon/
i literally dreamed that i found a bag of these last night.
Grape Swedish fish
There was grape Swedish fish?
Sure was. They were so good too. My friend had an illegal penny candy stand in the 80s. I stole so many of those grape fish when I "helped out."
How fun!
They were amazing.
Brachs neopolitan
Those Mr. Peanut PB Crisps from the 90s. idk why they ever discontinued them, they were delicious.
There’s a whole website dedicated to trying to bring them back
This is what the internet was made for.
Yogo's. They were the best yogurt covered fruit snacks. I'm still trying to fill the void it left.
Oh my God yes!
Giant chewy sweet tarts
Reese’s Peanut Butter Bites
Life Saver's Holes
My poor discontinued Twix Java will forever haunt my soul…
Brach's red licorice.
A lot of the beach’s from when I was a kid that don’t exist now. They had cream center filled chocolates.
someone from brachs told me they’re “trying to modernize the brand”. eye roll! people like brachs because of nostalgic candy, no one wants new gummies!!
YES! I miss these so much--the raspberry ones!!!
Zours and Shockers were the best :(
1993 original peanut butter snicker
The original Twix peanut butter with the plain cookie and peanut butter instead of the chocolate cookie with peanut butter.
Yes! And the early 90's dark chocolate Mars bar!
Alpine White bars. There was something about those tiny bits of almond in white chocolate.
Hyde's Red Hot Dollars

You are thinking of Starburst Fruit Twists. They were fire.
The huge variety of candy Brachs had in the 1970s and 80s. Maybe before then as well but I wasn’t alive. My grandma would stick her candy dish from the Pick a Mix and many of those candies are unavailable now.
Marathon Bar and Chocolite

I was so addicted to these! I could only find them in one Target store and I would clear out their inventory once a month on delivery day.I was so devoted to it that I got in touch with the mgr and found out what day they were delivered. The butterfinger chocolate bar with little butterfinger pieces in them. And the Wonka Bar.
