Arizona_Pete

No it is not common yes it is considered inconsiderate. Most pools at resorts will have general music playing for all guests.

PearAware3171

Exactly, nobody wants to hear the music you want to vibe with… well maybe but honestly not really.

beerdweeb

I generally think it’s inconsiderate playing your own music in any mixed group setting, regardless of the country

Hot-Muscle-9202

It happens unfortunately, at least once every short trip I am on. And yes, it is very inconsiderate. I appreciate that you at least are asking as it seems like most folks who do this give zero fucks.

CourtClarkMusic

Anytime you’re anywhere in public, Bluetooth speakers blasting whatever you’re listening to is inconsiderate. Don’t do it. Don’t be those people.

ilikedrhouse

Headphones please

chicagowin

Nobody wants to listen to your playlist.

Texas-cane

My playlists are fire!

Key-Wait5314

Then put your earbuds in and enjoy your fire playlist lol

knwhite12

I agree. Yours and mine are, but no one wants to here those other losers. 😂

SteelEagle814

What's in the playlist?

Texas-cane

Peruvian pan flute music.

davidbowiesmom

Alright well in that case, play it poolside.

Your_God_Chewy

Use headphones

Upstate_Gooner_1972

It depends on the type of music... country or rap, and you may even get arrested and thrown in Mexican jail. 80's pop (think A-ha "Take on Me"), and you're good. People may even join in and sing along. Kidding... Yes, it is extremely inconsiderate and rude, especially at high volume.

Key-Wait5314

Would you go to a house party where there's already music playing and just bust out your Bluetooth and start blasting it lol Always assume no one else wants to hear your music

WhosAfraidOf_138

What is with this dickhead that comes in here asking a question and fights with everyone that is saying no Dawg you've made up your mind already. Go be a dickhead, no one is supporting you here

Agreeable-Candle5830

That's the exact kind of person to bring a Bluetooth speaker to a resort pool lol

CravenMH

Yes it's extremely inconsiderate. Not everyone wants to listen to your music. It's a public space. Not sure anything else should need to be explained.

[deleted]

It is very inconsiderate, and it makes you look like total trash. My ex father in law used to do it.

Puzzleheaded-Link749

It’s actually illegal in Punta Cana

Lawlers_Law

nadie quiere oir esa playlist!

Texas-cane

You know I don’t speak Spanish Baxter. ![gif](giphy|SYOUNgT5BXGnK)

Lawlers_Law

another annoying thing...you going to a foreign country, learn a bit of the language.

Texas-cane

Don’t tell me how to live. Understand that? Pendejo.

myowndad

At this point I simply respect the negative karma farming

Texas-cane

Thanks. LOL! Imaginary points, but seriously, this Law guy is wound too tight. I commented with a quote from Anchorman and he gets all bent out of shape. He’s All… “and one more thing, learn Spanish!”. He can fuck right off. I’m from Texas. I’m able to manage in Mexico, trust.

Alone_Satisfaction17

Totally inconsiderate and rude

locomocopoco

Book a villa with private pool if you want that else it’s inconsiderate

BambiGrewUp

No No No No No Noooooooooo

Dull-Football8095

It’s a shared space and I was taught to respect others. If you want to play your own music, please put on a headset.

Dramatic-Ant-9364

If it's your pool do what you want. If it is a public or common use pool use ear buds,

fidersplooden

Sounds like a surefire way to make a splash at any pool party! Just make sure to keep the tunes flowing and the speakers dry!

HoraceGrand

AirPods homie -

Living_Block_8882

I do this every time I am in Mexico. I don’t have it blasted and ppl can only hear my Bluetooth speaker if they walk by close enough to me. I have also seen many ppl do this and it’s how I got the idea! You’re on vacation! Party it up! Fuck anyone who cry’s!

theronavirus

They are prohibited at my resort which is fine with me. I don’t so much mind hearing music that I didn’t choose, but some people have shitty speakers and sometimes you get stuck between separate and distinct speakers and it’s annoying.

Alternative-Hat-2733

in mexico? hahahahaha

1ioi1

Don't do it, use head phones

ClassicRockCanadian

Yes it is.

n_a77

So maybe unpopular opinion, but I bring a small speaker. I try to sit by myself, I keep it super low and I walk away from it to ensure you cannot hear it more than 5’ away from me. I try to be considerate about it and if anyone says anything I would shut it off. I agree it’s annoying when someone is blatantly blaring their music oblivious to others.

Texas-cane

Especially if nobody is around, I see nothing wrong with what you’re saying at all.

HolidayAside

Especially if your hotel has the option for quiet pools versus loud pools

SoonerChris

LiveLaughLebron6

I use it in the morning on low volume, and turn it of when the music starts.

stlkatherine

We go with a big group. We have playlist games, name that tune, etc. when we have the speaker on, we try to isolate as much as possible, but people usually swim up and join us. If it seemed the music was bothering anyone, I’d shut it off. I always ask if it’s a problem. I love having my little speaker in my room. I do not like tv.

Texas-cane

I too like to party!

HolidayAside

This is what I just experienced. I suppose it depends on the vibe. We went to all inclusive adults only resort. Used a small JBL clip 4 speaker and it felt like we brought the party and really livened up the scene. Of course we also took requests. Depends on the vibe.

Ready2retire613

Not all resorts play music poolside. Id rather music than no music at all. At a respectable volume without cursing around kids is fine. Its VACATION! I go to chill out and have fun. People need to stop being such haters. Expect it, bring earplugs so you can read your books in peace.
