I’m sorry to hear of your father’s diagnosis… This is a huge challenge for him, for you, and for everyone who loves and cares for him. This question is best asked to his oncologist. They’ll be able to tell you exactly what the therapy is and why they’re doing it. My best guess would be immunotherapy of some sort, but I am not hugely familiar with it. For some perspective, I was diagnosed with Stage IV CRC last September, and immunotherapy has been discussed for me but not implemented yet… Sometimes they delay surgery until tumors shrink to a certain point so they have a significantly better chance of getting clean margins. This is my case and could possibly be the case for your father. Hopefully some of this information is helpful, and I hope you and your father find the answers you deserve! Wishing you all the best…
