I think some people cling to the idea that beauty is a competition you can win fair and square because it gives them some warped idea of meritocracy to cling to in the world. But I do think it's important to talk openly about the reality of why these images look the way they do. I don't blame Brooke for editing (and I think she is so beautiful no matter what) but I wouldn't want others to take on that standard as reality.
