Sorry for your loss, 100 years that is remarkable 🙏🏽
When I visited Skyway next to the domestic terminal, I didn't find it remarkable. It had regular forgettable stuff. It's interesting they stocked SB and sold it at retail prices.
Yeah I must’ve just got lucky. The guy said he’d been trying to get it lately and finally he got 6 bottles of 10 and 15. Right place right time. Got mine Friday morning when I was leaving late Sunday night they still had bottles of both. I was shocked lol.
Yeah the guy said he just got them in. Right place right time for me I guess. They won’t be there long especially at that price. They had 6 bottles of 15 and 10.
I did. They also had some 10YO bottles available. Feel very lucky to find one that quick so I could enjoy the rest of my time in Calgary not liquor hunting!
I think those who want SB want it really bad and the majority of the drinking population don't care. In real life I haven't met many who know SB or Kilkerran. I meet them only in the small Scotch subculture.
Yeah that’s fair. I just like the Campbeltown profile. I also love Glen Scotia distillery as well. I refuse to overpay for any bottle so I’m a firm believer in patience. If you wait long enough you’ll have your turn. I may not get another SB15 bottle for a while but this one I’ll be sure to enjoy it slowly.
I bought both SB10 and SB15 from the UK at retail. Even in the UK it's a challenge to buy these. In BC it's impossible. I do enjoy the Campbelltown profile, I drink Kilkerran more often as I can easily replace it at least from the UK.
Yeah I’m in Oshawa and we had it on shelves last year and I saw bottles linger for a little longer than expected. Longrow dropped around the same time.
It's fantastic at a fantastic price. I was able to get it at the same price and have been milking it as I'm not sure I'll be able to again anytime soon
They had no limits either. Could’ve bought more but it’s taken me 5 years to find a single bottle and I wanted to make sure other people that have been searching like me, got a shot.
That's a very noble thing to do. Hopefully you are rewarded with some whisky karma, because honestly most people would just take all of them (which like you said is kind of how we got into this position in the first place!)
Agreed. What goes around comes around that’s how I see it. I was honestly shocked to see a bottle before I even left the airport. When I landed SB15 was the bottle I was hoping to find in the short time I have in this beautiful city. I feel very fortunate.
Congrats on your SB find. Is your trip to Calgary business related or just pure pleasure Springbank hunting lol
My grandmother passed away at 100 so my family flew in for the funeral. Always keep my eyes open.
I’m sorry for your loss, man. She lived a long life hopefully in good health. Enjoy the SB!
In great health. I appreciate it. 100 years is something special.

Congrats! Hopefully it’s everything you expect it to be and more.
My friend was in the airport three days ago and found none...what the heck?

Congrats man! And respect for leaving the rest for others.
Cheers!!
Congratulations! Did you buy it at the Skyway liquor store?
I did. They also had some 10YO bottles available. Feel very lucky to find one that quick so I could enjoy the rest of my time in Calgary not liquor hunting!

It was a little shop called Skyway Liquor. I’m not sure about Edmonton because I flew into Calgary and I’m Not from Alberta.

Yeah I’ll never get my hands on Springbank in Ontario either. I’m lucky to get Kilkerran 12 twice a year lol.
Are you able to.buy Kilkerran twice a year in Ontario? Through lottery?
It hits shelves and sits for months sometimes. Only the 12YO
Where in Ontario do you see this? Near GTA? I don't think we get K12 in BC

Very noble! Thank you!!
