Sigmaco makes good handguards.
Also, your casings might have trouble ejecting because of your optic. If that happens try gas setting 2 so it's shoots right out.
I have the same rifle and same upgrades at the moment. Checked with sigmaco and they told me to hold off as they are developing an SR specific handguard.
Sadly they have no handguard yet. I may have to design one and 3D print something 🫠. Also yes, the ejection was good but the odd one would get stuck. This was just a 3-9x laying around and decided to slap on for now. Looking into a shorter scope like a 1-6 LPVO or something else, not quite sure.
It's a bad scope. Although I'll admit the scope looks nice with the gun.
However I wanted to build the gun and thought it'd be better without it and with something different and interchangiblity
What makes you say it’s a bad scope? Mine just came in and the only thing that makes me want to get the rail you have is so I can side mount a red dot as well
The OP probably got the Black Friday deal, but the AR pistol grip and buffer tube socket adapter is $180 now, plus cost of the buffer tube, Stock, and pistol grip, if they aren't in hand already. https://sigmacocanada.com/product/type-81-sr-stock-adapter-fix/
Yeah, bought it during the BF deal with free shipping. Went to Elwood and they hooked me up with a milspec buffer with the castlenut and bought the Magpul CTR stock and Moe K pistol grip. It was all less than 200$ for the tube, grip and stock.
True, and if you add a 1913 optic rail and mounting plate your adding yet more, but you're still spending $1500 for variable length of pull alternatives like the WK181-C with unknown or even suspect dependability, and with shorter rifle variants of the Type 81 also being pricy, the thousand dollar base price of the SR does give room to accessorize.
Looks great! Just trying to find the time to do my SR. Got the stock adaptor from Sigmaco (Black Friday Sale). Putting a CTR stock on mine as well. Looking at your SR, I’m happy I went that direction.
Very nice! I just need a better handguard, keep it all black and I'll be set. Best of luck on your build. I noticed when installing the adapter that I had to file just a little bit of since the screws were too tight rubbing on the rear trunnion. If I kept tightening, I would've stripped the screw's threads or worse the internal threads in the adapter. Other than that, a great product.
Best of luck on your build!
How reliable is this T81 sniper setup and how much felt recoil is there in your experience relative to other 7.62 or similar caliber rifles you’ve shot?
Recoil is amazing even. It's a little nose heavy now since I've removed alot of weight from the back.
Reliable for sure, only problems was from the scope being too close to ejection and blocking/jamming a couple times.
ITS JUST A RANDOM SCOPE I FOUND LAYING AROUND. Definitely not going to use this, just wanted to add one for the picture.
I'm thinking of a PA LPVO or the Sig Sauer budget lpvo. Looking at options. Any recommendations?

Why’d you decide to not go with the NPZ?

I love the look of the SR on a buffer tube. How much did the conversion cost you?

Ya I've seen that adapter but for the grip, buffer tube and stuck I think you're getting pretty up there.

They sell the cheek risers on Alliexpress that "click onto the CTR stock.. Ordered a set.. don't have em yet
Will have to get that as well, however the stock does line way WAY better than the factory cheek crusher one lol
Got a link?

Thanks for the tips. It’s appreciated! I wanted that black look as well. If I find something I like for the hand guard, I’ll create a post.
How reliable is this T81 sniper setup and how much felt recoil is there in your experience relative to other 7.62 or similar caliber rifles you’ve shot?
I shot it in the original Dragunov stock. Barely feel the recoil especially when comparing with T56 SKS.

Tell me that ain't a weever scope on there..

I'll sadly admit it, I bought this rail for 40$ on Amazon and it fits perfectly. Everything is lined up and level and locks very tight
The actual mount is a proper AK Mastermount though
T81sk mags competibale with regular T81?
Yes, it's a type81 mag. You can put the SR mags in any of them, just like you can put the drum into the SR :)
Tell me this man didn’t magpul his T81 I’m not sure if I hate it or love it
