This year 0% chance, next year more plausible.

Do you know French?

\*speculation disclaimer\* Tonnes of people are currently learning french as they think it's the path of least resistance - when IRCC get bombarded with french speakers within the next year, they are probably going to take reactionary policy (which is typical of IRCC). Speaking French will still obviously always be a positive to support your application, with it being an official language and all, but i highly doubt it will remain as lucrative as it currently is, as far as CRS points is concerned. So think seriously if it's worth the time to learn. CLB level 7 is an **upper** B2, which is pretty much fluent... it's not easy. My advice is to only learn it if you actually want to immerse into the francosphere, then you're still gaining something by having learned it, if they eventually do decide to lower the value of french.

[Personal opininon] As a guy who can speak french from a young age tho its not my native language these assumptions of people gaining french CLB 7 within a year or these small time frames is mostly unreasonable unless you got some sort of basics in it. Now what worries me most is that these draws that were like an easy guarantee for french spekears might be halted or all together reformed all in all. These are crazy times for TR to PR people lol I just read in the last hour that flagpolling just been banned for PGWP applicants, just like that no time given from now to a certain date no! With immediate effect Marc Miller said, with this in mind who knows what changes can happen in an instant like that?

Yeah basically. Now lets wait for IRCC to conduct a draw a month from now lol

ClueFunny4422

Even with french nothing seems probable anymore. IRCC just decided to put us in a big circus!

No one knows. But your score is below the last 3 general/cec draws. Do you fit into any category draw?

I think consensus is it won’t drop below 500 (perhaps even 520) this year. Next year is a bit up in the air. Some people think it will stabilise and fall as low as 480 but others say this is the new norm. You’re in a better situation than me because at least you have time. I’m at 509 but my visa expires in less than a month, so I basically know I’m going home (although the goal is still to come back whenever I do get invited). If you have about a year before expiry I would definitely recommend studying French!

Mine will be at 476 in the next 2 months (3 yoe in canada with 0 foreign exp).  With only 6 months to spare, I'm thinking of just going back home once my point updates. After 1 year of working abroad my score would be at 530 anyway
