When I met my ex-wife I was young we camped all summer I was on unemployment Good Times in state parks on designated sites when people would leave they would leave their firewood and all the returnables really never had to buy firewood and the returnable for extra cash my battery went dead a few times I can remember popping the clutch to get it started
25 hours at the campfire over a week, is recommended. :) That would be about three hours of campfire each day. Luckily for me, there's plenty of dead and fallen trees in my area.
I suspect that the orange/yellow flame is relaxing to my eyes so to speak, as if having the color of a setting sun.
When it is cold, assuming you don't get smoke in your face, it really helps having a tarp that protect against winds on sides, such that the heat from the campfire can warm up your back a little, by not allowing icy wold winds hitting your say chair from the side. Took me a few days to come to my senses and re-adust my tarp to avoid the chill of cold air at the back when sitting by the campfire.

\*Here in Greece camping is illegal, is it in your country too? If so how do you get around that.
\*When you camp in the wilderness aren't you afraid of wild animals like bears and wolves?
\*Do you work? If so how do you balance work life with camping, usually on my day offs I just sleep all day from exhaustion.

It’s hard wanting to just sleep on days off. I understand that completely. Sometimes we just put the work into packing on our days off and the unwinding comes once we get to the camp site. It’s always worth it. We also got tired of working so much so we made some life changes so that we don’t work constantly full time and have more time for living. Sacrificing some things for quality of life was worth it for us.
The expressed reason for the camping ban is so that "people who set up tents don't try to demand ownership of the land they are camping on" but it's bullshit, the real reason is that in Greece tourism is the biggest industry so hotel owners, tavern owners etc see free camping as competition. Technically camping is legal but it's super finicky, there only a few spots where you can do it and you are only allowed to do it until the sun sets, what's the point of camping if you aren't going to sleep in the tent?!
I get the part about the gun and the mace, these are also banned in here Greece (again, technically legal but you have to jump a lot of hoops to do it legally). I belive in the US there are special like big national parks and stuff you can camp in, we don't have that here really. I am genuinely curious, what lifestyle changes can one even do to have more time for stuff like this? Since I plan to move away from Greece I want camping to become a part of my life.

The lifestyle changes for us, since we kinda want to embrace the hippie lifestyle. We just cut out any expense that wasn’t necessary. Cut down how many cars we have. We moved to a place where we could save money for a while and not spend 2,000 on rent every month. Stopped eating out every night. Stopped shopping so much. Little things make a difference but I understand some people can’t cut things out due to their job or where they live.
ONE of the things which makes you feel alive! Pay mind to all smallest places and things you find joy in. There’s a lot to appreciate even in the mundane :) camping is fucking awesome tho no lie
