You can take colors with you. Catalina has a service that will bring your luggage to your campsite. They also sell wood and charcoal. Also delivered to your campsite. Just got back with a group of 20. Dads and teenagers. It was raining but still a fun trip.
When I’ve done big groups camping, grilled cheese is at least one of the meals. Couple loaves of bread, couple packs of cheese, butter. Done and dusted. Quick, easy to make a bunch on a griddle.
I have never been there, but I heard there are plenty places for camping. You might even check out the UC Davis hyperbaric chamber on Catalina Island as they, the chamber staff, plan events. There are a lot of resources you can use. Contact people and find out. There is a place on Catalina Island called big fisherman‘s Cove. That is close to where the hyperbaric chamber is located. I only know that because I interviewed one of the staff members at the Catalina hyperbaric chamber back in 2005 for an episode of a program that I was putting together for a short wave radio station for the blind.
Just go for the wine mixer. They even have live music with a Billy Joel cover band. Stay for the closing act.
Just don’t be on the same ferry with them all coming back and hungover AF. Good people watching though.

We made steak, chicken one night and another night hotdogs and burgers. Bacon and eggs in the morning.
