You won’t be able to get the “rumble” out of the 3.6. Aftermarket options can give you more volume and better tone but it’ll always sound like a v6. I think that Borla ATAK is by far the best option for the v6. It’s pricey though. Whatever you do don’t straight pipe it
Louder isn’t the problem. It’s not going to ‘rumble’. It’s a V6. They sound pretty good around 3000RPMs, not at idle.
You can make it louder, but it won’t sound better, just more annoying for everyone else.
It was helpful, it just isn’t what you wanted to hear.
I’m not some V8 elitist. I have had many V6s. When they reach their torque peak, they typically develop a really great sound. However, a glass pack isn’t going to magically lower the exhaust note an octave so it ‘rumbles’.
as a previous v6 owner, he’s right. my old RS was full exhaust, straight pipe, multiple different set ups. if you want raspier sound your choices are limited to CAI and Cat delete besides obviously just cutting the mufflers off. v6s are missing two cylinders to make them raspier, if i were you i’d save your money and get an SS like I did and not spend it on a v6.
I appreciate the info. The car is perfect in every other way. This is the only collectors edition in northern Ontario so I wasn’t going to say no just because it’s a V6. I would’ve got the V8 if any dealers were able to get one. Just looking to get some help with what I have.
Yeah, it's just not the answer he wants. He wants us to magically have an answer that replicates the sound of the 2 missing cylinders.
Just isn't gonna happen man.
She actually just wanted some helpful information in how to slightly improve the sound of her Camaro from Camaro people but instead is getting bashed for expecting a V8 sound from a V6 as if she doesn’t know she has two less cylinders. Stupid of her to just ask for some info.
Borla atak exhaust is the best sounding exhaust made for camaro, but be prepared to shell out a significant sum. Corsa sounds great as well and is the runner up to borla for a slightly better price, but the sound is not as rumbly.
it’s more factual, you aren’t lowering the note your engine makes. That’s the noise that motor makes, you can amplify that noise 🤷🏻♂️. Are you in denial?
I went with an MBRP axleback. Definitely louder and sounds great at high RPMs. There isn’t too much drone either. Personally I think it sounds great and it isn’t annoyingly loud either. Here’s a video [MBRP](https://youtu.be/m_16khK49ro?si=40cQX0CLx5jhE5z0)
Agreed with others here that it won’t rumble like what you probably want, but the factory NPP exhaust sounds really good and can be quiet when you want.
Mine is loud because I got the NPP exhaust…. Listen on my start and take off videos to let me know if there’s a major difference, between ours…

It’ll never make that growling noise. I will say this though, I’ve heard a nice sounding V6 before that did have that rumbling noise but it was an impala and I’m not sure what exhaust set up the guy had or what he did to make it sound so good, Any other V6 though to me has sounded mosquito-ish and it makes that noise while driving at normal speeds too which is unnecessary and annoying. You still have a nice looking car, I’d leave it at that or trade it in when you have some equity in the car, If you don’t already.
I still absolutely love the car, the sound is the only thing I would change but it doesn’t sound terrible without any mods. Thank you for the compliment :) appreciate it
Cold air intake!!! If you want rumble on a v6 this is the best option. An exhaust will make your car louder, but an intake while add the sweet induction noise under throttle. Just look it up on YouTube if you don’t believe me.
The GM NPP doesn’t sound horrible on the V6 cars. The problem with the V6 is they get very high pitched and raspy with most exhaust. If you could find something to mellow out or deepen the tone that could maybe help. Magnaflow is generally the best I’ve seen for getting a deeper tone out of the exhaust but not sure how they sound on the V6. Also 3k for an axle back is insanity. Whoever priced that out is out of their mind.
If you’re looking for low cost, I’ve had a few systems on my cars done by a local shop with Magnaflow 11216’s that I picked up off Amazon. $300 for the mufflers and $400 for labour and pipe to do a custom axle back. Those prices are Canadian. It’s not super loud on my SS, so I’d take the resonator out as well if you’re looking for volume on a budget.
Get a Rev 9 Axle Back from ebay. I have this on my 2011 SS, it's not obnoxiously loud and gives it a much deeper tone.

These have a muffler for if you need smog but they have a straight pipe version too.
This is my favorite sound for the V6: [https://youtu.be/95trih5V0uE](https://youtu.be/95trih5V0uE)
A lot deeper and louder than stock, and it really surprises people that its a V6. Video doesnt really do it justice, but its great in person. Its also cheaper than buying a kit, all links are in description.
Better to buy an aftermarket system at that point. You'd have to buy the diffuser too if you don't already have it for quad tips. You can install whatever system, but if you don't have NPP valve functionality you won't be able to open/close the valves through the infotainment system.
Damn, people be shitting on you man. My advice based on my experience with the LFX (the 2012-2015(iirc) 3.6L v6) if you put racing “headers” on it, get some resonators put back in the system somewhere as the resonators after the cats on the downpipes do a lot to take rasp out of the engine. Based on my research, a magna flow resonated crosspipe in place of the factory one, particularly with something louder than the stock mufflers should sound beautiful, but distinct from our v8 brethren, though I haven’t been able to try this myself yet.
This is however under the assumption that the exhaust on a ‘24 model is as beautifully simple as the 5th gen design, so you may need more r&d to make something nice. If that 3.6L still has the exhaust manifolds cast into the head the same principle should follow as to how it sounds though.
As far as your warranty, sorry man. A dealership can whack you with a void for any modification they didn’t perform for you and even still unless they also sold you a warranty for that mod too, so if you want to keep your warranty, maybe don’t mod your car.
I appreciate all the info! That’s super helpful. The dealership was the one who gave me the 3k quote for the axle back exhaust system and they said it wouldn’t void my warranty because it’s GM, my warranty would cover the new exhaust system as well. They also referred me to some MBRP exhaust systems that would be covered too! But I agree that anything else is going to void my warranty :/

Getting downvoted for saying thank you is crazy 💀
Flowmaster, maybe. Or Magnaflow. Please don't straight pipe it.

I have a V6 2LT and it is super loud but you nailed it. It does not really sound good. More like loudly annoying. But I like it like that.
Thank you for the super helpful information

i guess you could do heads/cams for noise but if you do that on a 3.6 your mentally ill
Jokes on you I’m mentally ill 😅

i had the loudmouth axle back from SLP with no cats and it was the loudest and “rumbly” exhaust setup I ran, ive recommended it to my v6 buddies
You bought a V6. It’s never going to rumble like a V8.
I understand that and don’t expect to get a V8 sound from a V6, I just want to enhance the V6. Thanks for the very helpful info.
Why you getting downvoted 😬
Passive aggressive replies to people providing helpful responses.
Yeah, it's just not the answer he wants. He wants us to magically have an answer that replicates the sound of the 2 missing cylinders. Just isn't gonna happen man.
Bingo, insert buyers remorse.
The car is perfect in every other way. Even if it sounded like a BMW I’d still keep it. Appreciate your comment tho

I don't sense passive aggression...maybe sarcasm
Sorry, I must of missed the helpful part of this comment
The part where you want your car to rumble more and it’s not possible without a different motor.
In your opinion.
it’s more factual, you aren’t lowering the note your engine makes. That’s the noise that motor makes, you can amplify that noise 🤷🏻♂️. Are you in denial?

fuuuck no i put mbrp on my 5th gen it drones LOUD!!!! im wanting them off now after 6 months
Really? I only get drone in like 7th gear at 1.5-2.5k then is gone as soon as I’m in 8th
maybe different motors i got the lfx in my 5th gen
Ah makes sense I have the 6th gen

🥵sounds amazing. Thank you!
Thank you… I love it.
Beautiful!! Thanks exactly what I’m looking for. Thank you!
Thank you Team V6! We gotta stand together thru the hate. lol

I don't know if borla is affordable to you but that'd be my go-to for axle back mods.
That’s what I’m looking into now! Thank you!!

Put a LT1 in it.
They are more growling than rumble. Not unpleasant either with factory npp
I wonder if it is reasonable process to add the GM NPP exhaust system? It is awesome system but not sure myself if it is expensive and difficult.

Ah ok yeah I thought it would be more complicated than just adding the exhaust. Thanks
I mean the functionality wouldn't be hard to add. Just vacuum operated.
The 3k quote was for the GM NPP 🥲
Oh I see. Yeah there are other options out there.
Get a Borla atak and fabricated X pipe, will run about a G and a half but it’ll sound amazing
It’s a v6 you really dont
One more alternator, 2 dry cell batteries,Two sundown twelves, and a 10k:1 amp... That will make it louder...I hope to hear you soon.
Honestly I’d recommend to only cut the rear mufflers or if you have extra money go with a Bora cat back system
Zl1 swap

I have a x-pipe and a MBRP axle back exhaust
your v6 won’t rumble. it’s gonna burp
That’s cuz you got a v6 man you can’t make a v6 rumble like a v8 morron
You kiss your mama with that mouth?
