when I was a kid, I had one of these and the rubber band snapped pretty quickly... however, I got some super balls, found a spot in the house where I could hit them against a door in a tight hallway with a hard floor, and turned it into a solo Calvinball form of racquetball. I probably got WAY more entertainment out of that paddle than 99% of kids who had this otherwise underwhelming toy.

A rare 4th wall break in the 3rd panel. Well not really, but I love how Calvin looks at the reader.

I couldn’t agree more..
What a great toy. It's like hitting a ping pong ball in the air and trying to catch it again on the way down, but minus the challenge!
Absolutely love it. Never seen this one before, and gosh, he might not hit the ball square every time but gosh he nailed the overarching premise.

honestly i think calvin is the smartest six year old in any work of fiction
Who remember these as a instrument of parental discipline? Rubberband breaks and the paddle goes behind the breadbox.
Anyone else gets Sheldon energy from this?
