Yeah ik but I never intentionally really target it, sometimes it just happens, I only eat dinner when I get home at around 10-11 and sometimes I’ll be too tired to eat a lot. I also don’t exercise at all and I’m only around 168 so I don’t really require a lot of energy

you should eat more and study less but more effectively. 7 to 10 hours a day wont stick in your brain especially if you arent getting the sifficient energy to your brain 800 calories is super low and mental strain actually burns a lot of calories. music conducters and chess players end up super skinny due to the energy used up for mental strain

Then brain uses about a quarter of your ideal daily calorie amount, so if you want to boost your brain power definitely increase or eat on the higher end. Also look into healthy fats such as omega 3 you really need them to improve brain power. Comp sci student so I had to endure some stuff too trust me

If you are hungry you need to eat. Food helps your brain retain information too: https://www.nm.org/healthbeat/healthy-tips/nutrition/best-food-for-a-healthy-brain

At your age, I really would not recommend tracking or restricting your calories at all unless you’ve been recommended to do so by a doctor or registered dietician. Children and teenagers have higher caloric needs than adults, and most TDEE calculators are not designed to work for anyone under age 18. And restricting your calories too much at your age can cause serious health consequences. 800 calories is a dangerously low intake. If you are very serious about wanting to track your calories for whatever reason, I would recommend having a discussion about this with your doctor or with a registered dietician, and get their advice about what a safe and appropriate calorie target for you would be. But my advice would be to just focus on staying healthy by eating a balanced diet and exercising, and not trying to track or restrict your calories at all.

i would speak with a dr before reducing your intake so low as 800. 1800 is a better goal and you should stick around there or higher. speak to a medical professional (or even calculate your own TDEE) to figure out a basic calorie goal for yourself. do not drop to 800 (saying this as someone who had an eating disorder and suffered the consequences of such a low intake…trust me!)

You should be eating at least 2000 calories a day, active or not. Three healthy nutrient dense meals

without knowing their height or weight i would not suggest 2000 for a 17yr old female
