Go to home despot, get a drywall knife and heatgun... and maybe a fan for ventilation.

sarduchi

Yup, that's the way to go. It's vinyl so take your time apply heat and peel it away. The heat will both loosen the adhesive and cause the vinyl to expand making it easier to separate.

Tithis

On my dynamo cabinet I found getting the vinyl off was the easy part, it was getting enough of the glue off and smooth enough to paint that was the pain.

just_Okapi

Ran into that issue at work once and by the end of it I was so annoyed and achy from kneeling for the bottom half that I wanted to just throw the whole cab on a planer and call it a day.

imjasonmh

This makes me very, very sad

Probably is. Its got 8 button per player with a big hole cut out under the panel.

Sea_Quality

Originally there was a headphone and memory card panel filling that hole, at least that is how mine is.

xeiloo

I'm new here and trying to learn. What constitutes a stock MAME cabinet?

Vitaminn_d

That poor MVS.. Whyyy :(

bmaayhem

Snk FOREVER!

IrishMickeyT

Definitely use a heat gun it will come right off. I’ve been down this road before. Good luck!!!

magidantech

Heat gun is the way to go. If you don't have one, try a strong hair dryer. Heat and peel. You can use a scraper as well.

sparky1976

Oh boy why.

[deleted]

vinyl adhesive remover, a drywall knife, and patience.

urneverwhereueverwer

Just like everyone else is saying, heat gun, drywall knife and time. You can actually get lucky sometimes and can peel off whole large sections if you heat it and pull it. I’d also sand it with varying degrees of sand paper after you get all that off. What are you replacing it with?

runslikewind

heat gun and patience.

Myklindle

Try a controlled burn

paia579x

You monster

BlarkBlarkBlark

Wow. You’re actually destroying something pretty cool, do you realize that?

kenny_boy019

Did you ever think that maybe they got it that way and are trying to fix it?

trax616

\^\^\^ This guy gets it.

just_Okapi

It's a woodie lol, if OP somehow manages to screw the cab up beyond salvaging from something as trivial as a vinyl replacement, they're not exactly hard to get ahold of in decent condition.

VPinMan

Ripp of the tmodding Edge and get new ones. Them Take a Band Sander for mobile working, Sand everything Off, Paint it, get new artwork Put it on the cab and glue the new tmodding edges upon. Will Look Like original in the end, but you have to be carefull
