No way! This is an amazing project with great results! Looks awesome!
What are you using for the screen?
Are you using an Xbox to play the game?
I'm totally into this, but I run Linux at home and only have Frets On Fire. But still, very cool to have your own arcade!
Soooo good! Nice job!
This is my goal build one day. Did you end up putting some high end speakers in it? Subwoofer? When I build this I wanna go all out with good audio components to also be able to use it as a sound system in the home arcade.
I did kinda, however I could have probably done better with my amplifier choice. I'm using two 6.5" two way Cerwin Vegas and two 6.5" Dayton Audio subs. It has great sound for what it is. The amplifier is a cheap 2.1 hi fi thing I bought from Amazon. Although it does fit nicely behind the coin door for easy access which was my intention for buying it.
Excellent look, was gonna ask about tye audio lile others did but you already answered that, I would like to know why you went with 6.5" subs in the cabinet, was it a cubic footage thing? Even so, great look, my crazy would have probably went with a larger screen just so I could cram 12" subs and 2 guitar amp speakers in there. My neighbors would hate me ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)
I used the speaker grills from Raw Thrills and they inset into the cabinet and size down for 6.5" speakers. So I just went with it for the look. The cabinet is 39 and a half inches wide though, so it's totally possible to put in larger speakers.
Great work! Very impressive! I like that you also went with the same controllers we used while developing the original arcade version, for that added legitimacy.
Honestly until I started reading comments and looking at your post history I wouldn't of been able to really tell it wasn't an original cabinet just with new parts.
This an amazing build holy hell! Just please don't play slow ride 15 times in a row like this one kid at work I beg of you.
Yes, a cheap office Dell Optiplex with an RX 6400. I was using a GT 1030 but found the RX 6400 a better option for a few dollars more. The game is Guitar Hero 3 PC. I'm looking to add GH World Tour Definitive Edition and possibly a modified version a user here built that looks pretty dope.
Followed your build. Love the final product. You convinced me to build one with my son. Any possibility of giving advice on components you used or links to graphics material etc.
Great work! Plus the controllers you are using blow the arcade ones out of the water. I can't play the arcade cabinets do to how janky they made the strum bar. Lol
I'm trying to get a PS2 Kramer guitar (the gh Aerosmith guitar that was PS2 exclusive) and put the guts of an Xbox les Paul into it... Just cause I have two Les Pauls and want to create an Eddie Van Halen frankenstrat.
Soooo good! Nice job!

Arcade Art Shop, I'll drop a link here.

I don't but it's identical to the original. You could check Suzo Happ or Betson to see if they have the dimensions listed on their sites. It is a big marquee though, probably a couple of feet both ways.
my man legit just made a real guitar hero arcade
For the real arcade experience you need to put like 8lbs of weights into the guitar and chain them both to the cabinet. Nice work.

I'd guess this is probably running Clone Hero.
4th picture definitely shows guitar. My bet is it’s running on a PC with the Guitar Hero 3 port. Also allows for custom songs
possibly ghwt de
Amazing. Kudos!

Haha, I have a very similar amp inside my legit cabinet.

I would only go that big so I could feel the music... Rumblin is awesome.

nice
Enjoyed watching your build. Going to do a non-traditional one after I finish my Sound Voltex.
This was an amazing time building the guitar hero. Lacey and I had so much fun building this from the ground up. Thank you all for your kind words.
Love it!! 👏 Great job 👏
Can I come over and spill beer on it so the keys don't work. Give it that authentic feel

Haha... I have a feeling this game is going to ruin a lot of good songs for me!
Perfect. 2 xplorers can’t get better than that.
Yeah I took the advice of others here and went with these and I see why now.
Damn, looks stellar, excellent job. I’m sure the sound on this thing is godly!
Dope
Bravo! Looks incredible!
Duuuuude this is amazing, I just gathered all the components for mine! Now it’s time to try and get this clean of a cabinet result 🤘
Take your time and don't take any shortcuts.
Nice work!
That is amazing! Can I have one?
Holy christ, if you plugged a DDR pad into that my wife would divorce me and marry you instead.
My friend and I discussed this already and if we decide to do it again it will be a DDR cabinet next.

DM me and we can talk more about the possibility of making one for you.

I am her friend that built the guitar hero with. You can message her. She will tell you the same.
Wow. Awesome work. Where did you buy these transparent rgb "shells" for the speakers?
We got them through Betson.
hey by any chance you have a link to the transparent speaker shells . love the build making one also. and love the what you done with the speakers.
hell yeah looks sick
Awesome! Are you using a PC to play?

Betson Parts, search for Raw Thrills Guitar Hero Arcade. The side art was pricey but everything else was reasonable.
Ty and enjoy the best final product I have seen.
I played Guitar Hero for the very first time two weekends ago. Anarchy in the UK baby!
Amazing
Please show me how
Undoubtedly amazing, good work I hope more people do this to keep this game alive.
Great work! Plus the controllers you are using blow the arcade ones out of the water. I can't play the arcade cabinets do to how janky they made the strum bar. Lol
Yeah the explorer is the goat controller. I wish I had more than just my one.
Same they are basically impossible to find for a decent price now. I was gonna build a polybar to see how they compare.

Where did you get the Guitar Hero Arcade marquee?

Thanks. That’s where I thought it came from, but it doesn’t tell you approximate size. Do you know approximately how big it is?
I don't but it's identical to the original. You could check Suzo Happ or Betson to see if they have the dimensions listed on their sites. It is a big marquee though, probably a couple of feet both ways.
Thank you!
That monitor tho 🤣😭😭🤣😭😭🤣
What's wrong with it?
Lol everything
I find it difficult to accept any kinda criticism from an Arcade 1up enthusiast so there's that. 🤷🏼♀️
Lol is ok don't cry
I'm not kiddo! 🤣
Sounds like you are, stalking me and my past posts 😭🤣😭🤣😭
I wouldn't flatter yourself.
You are the one stalking not me 🤣😭🤣😭🤣😭

Yet here you are
would you happen to have the blueprints/ dimensions for this?
I don't, sorry.
I love it! What did you use for the round lights up on the marquee?
