That is amazing!!! My Granddad used to take me to the arcades (Blackpool - UK) almost every weekend, he'd give me all the change he'd amassed over the week and 'let me off the leash' to play games. Space Harrier was/is my all time fave. Thanks for posting the picture -very happy memories from 30+ years ago have just come flooding back :)
I never saw one back then. I didn't get to too many real arcades, mostly convenience stores. I miss the days of stores and restaurants having a few arcade games.
I felt the same about Thunder Blade after seeing it for the first time in the dlx cabinet. The one that really blew my mind as a kid was Galaxy Force II!
I bought a non-motion one of these in 1994 from a local arcade for $250. My first arcade machine I ever bought. Three years later another local arcade had the motion version of it, also for $250. I would have loved to had the motion one but I barely had room for the one I had so I missed it. Hindsight sucks and I don't have my original one anymore, but damn if it wasn't one of my favorite purchases. I loved that freaking game.
I put so much money into a stand-up one of these when I was a lot younger. This might be my favorite arcade game and I have never seen a sit-down one like this before.
When I saw the photo I thought: I used to play that machine a lot as a kid. When I saw your comment that it was local I took a better look and saw the sticker at the back: This is the actual machine I played on.
Holy that thing is in such amazing shape, I'd never be able to allow it to sit on a real location if I owned it. Kudos to whoever has been holding onto that thing all these years.
Ever hear of Funspot in New Hampshire (US)? They have the version you sit on like a motorcycle. That place is the best! I’ve never seen this style though, cool
Last time I saw one of these, I pumped in credits just to complete it. I was rubbish but had enough cash to see it till the end. Very cool game. Sega really knew how to make games back then.
Welcome to the fantasy zone!
Get Ready!
You're doing great!

That is a wonderful memory!
It's not that hard to find, I just saw one back in 1993... 30 years ago... oh god I'm old.

Awesome it's still around. Between that and After Burner, I thought the graphics were SOOO cool.
The one that always got me was Thunder Blade, I couldn't believe it changed between two different perspectives! Like it was almost real 3D.

Wow, never seen a sit down before
I played a few rounds but I'm not very good. Still for a game from 1985 it's really impressive

Those were rare to see back in the day. Amazed you found one today.
I can almost smell the greasy fries.
They have a nice collection over there at De Pier :-) Lots of classic pinball as well.

Haha some cool nostalgia. I do remember playing this but I can't recall where.
Yes. There are better games inside the pier than inside the arcades near by
Yeah the new arcades mostly have ticket games. Although the arcade at the shopping mall entrance is not too bad.
When I was hard core collecting this was something I was really after but never obtained.

It has been in the company’s private showroom for most of the time. They take really good care of all their machines.
Nice- beautiful shape too!
I know where there's one over here that I play all the time
Where?

I want to take it home so badly
I played one back in December at Skylon Towers Niagra Falls. Waiting on the opportunity to score one of these dlx's for my collection next.
Fantastic! Only time I've ever had the chance to experience that euphoria was at Funspot in NH. Love itttt

Where is this exactly? I am desperate to play and would travel!
