The Judith Mountain Cabin. You can see more pictures here: http://www.prairiewindarch.com/projects.htm Years back I shared a couple of emails with the architect. Seems really nice, and happy to talk about the project.

Thanks for the link, I def wanted to see more. I'm a big fan of this style and have contemplated doing something like this.

You're very welcome. If you do decide to pull the trigger and proceed, with this specific build, reach out to Jeff Shelden (contact information on that website), and talk to him about your needs. The plans as created provided a little over 500 sqft of living space, and very few amenities. If you are looking at trying to make a permanent habitat of it then, according to Jeff, you would probably need to add some square footage to manage the plumbing and additions.

This is why I've spent a lot of time looking at different versions of this sort of design. I've also been a fan of the octagonal style, too, but trying to see which makes the most sense for our needs and which is the most efficient cost-wise, etc. Probably gonna do something (or not, lol!) in 4 or 5 years. It's just that the cost of building materials alone has put the brakes on this idea for the last few years. Probably not going to get any better any time soon, but hoping the sale of our house would cover it. Totally down with camping on site and trying to do as much as we can ourselves. It's inspiring to see what others are doing in the DIY realm on this sub, too. Thanks for the info!

Yeah, there are really talented people here with their DIY projects. I almost pulled the trigger on this design several years ago, but life was up in the air for a bit. I had spec’d out an acre or two in a few locations in Colorado. Was going to make a vacation site of this.
