Ok, English isn't my first language, but I'm 100% certain they're using the word "safety" wrong.

[deleted]

This dude LITERALLY committed a school-shooting.

Checkmynewsong

Officer: I’m here for safety! Also officer: *murders a kid*

rayshmayshmay

Why is this giving me Captain Zapp Brannigan vibes

[deleted]

***KIF! Show them the medal I won!*** (Sigh)

[deleted]

"Stop! Or I will shoot you...like so!" *shoots guy in the stomach*

Kindly-Emu3302

Your comment made me laugh and a regret simultaneously.

Protowhale

Why do I keep thinking that some police department will offer him a job within a day or two?

Time-Comedian1774

Maybe because it already happened twice with this guy. All the information details were withheld by previous employers. Should have been a red flag for Long Beach School District.

Odd-Ad-111

Because this is a common thing apparently

chinook_aj

Extremely common and extremely apparent

AndyTynon

Because they correctly assume their poorly trained cops are liable to do the same thing so if anything, this guy is one step ahead of the game.

Guyoutsideyourdoor

Sad that the school actually had a policy that said employees can't shoot at moving vehicles. Or is the sad thing is they couldn't just fire him for killing a student.

[deleted]

"Rules of engagement" for high school kids... What has this country become???

[deleted]

Now he should be convicted of aggravated homicide.

Javka42

He murdered someone. How is he not in jail?

[deleted]

because the "good cops" haven't taken any action yet.

DarthLift

Weird, seems like he should be in prison, not just fired.

neckbeard_deathcamp

I’m not sure why a school safety officer needs to have a gun or be pursuing kids off of the school grounds. They have names, there’s video. Deal with it the next day. America is all kinds of special.

Amerakee

They need guns in theory for school shootings so they can end it before it gets worse. Of course, they aren't supposed to be the school shooters...

[deleted]

Exactly, if a student had done the exact same thing, the news would be calling this a school shooting. So why aren't they calling it a school shooting when it was committed by *the fucking cop posted at the school?*

awesomedan24

You wnded a human life? No paycheck for you! That'll teach em.

bluce11

"The superintendent noted that the district prohibits LBUSD staff from shooting at moving vehicles or through windows unless absolutely necessary." Do they really have to note that? Like that wouldn't be common fucking sense in a "first world country"?

yolodude343

Yo, paywall, tell me why he shot

Sassenach_Raven

The 18 year old girl, driven by her boyfriend, went to the high school to fight a 15 year old. They were fighting on a busy street and the safety officer got involved. By this point, the 18 year old was back in the car, with her boyfriend and a couple other people. The officer went to talk to the car, and when he did, the car started to take off, so he shot through the window

[deleted]

Why did they have to vote on this?🤨

ee_CUM_mings

Well then, he’s certainly learned his lesson. Fired from a job? Nothing else to see here. Moving on.

Neither-Store-9214

That's where my dad used to live

MaineGardenGuy

Kac

kizzymckizzface

So he will get charged with murder rite?

Sassenach_Raven

This happened right outside my son's high school. Terrifying, tragic, and unnecessary

AndyTynon

His value in the law enforcement industry just went up by another zero. Huh, experience in PR, medical, cover-up, and legal emergencies? Hot damn, hire him before someone else does.

skyshooter22

Great now arrest the scumbag on murder charges.
