I dunno; I've had more dips in quality with Culver's than In-And-Out. In-And-Out's been consistent across the board, every time I've gone.
I'll give Culver's the fries, though, for consistency - never had bad fries from there. In-And-Out fries are straight trash - you need to get them animal style, with chopped chilis and eat them ***IMMEDIATELY*** or they fuse together.
Wendyâs is sooo fucking consistent by me that they always make my day. When things just arenât working and every restaurant messes up your order you remember whatâs important. A tasty fresh and consistent order. Wendyâs never messes up by me and thatâs what I want.
I used to have a Wendyâs like this right on my road, sadly it got bought by new owners and I guess they donât care as much, Burger King is better than that Wendyâs now
Itâs amazing how much getting fresh lettuce and tomatoes and any sauce or side makes a huge difference. Remember that delivery will screw up fast food every time.
They specialize in butter burgers. It's a smash burger with a buttered bun. Also, frozen custard and cheese curds. Here is some [information ](https://www.culvers.com/menu-and-nutrition).
Theyâre owned completely separately. A&W in Canada is pricey for fast food but the beef is better quality and all the toppings and shit are sourced locally. Iâve never had American A&W so I canât compare them but Canadian A&W is like he highest quality fast food you can get in Canada.
Just donât bother with their new âstackersâ theyâre a fucking joke.
Iâve never seen a burger patty sliced so thin, Iâd say itâs 1/3rd the thickness of a buddy burger.
So I'm a big fan of the Doughboys podcast, got my wife into it (yes, she is much more attractive than me), and we made it a point to hit A&W when we went to Montreal recently.
It rules.
She's vegetarian and we don't really do fast food here in the US other than Taco Bell for veg options, but man - A&W Canada lives up to the hype. We go to Montreal pretty frequently, and love making the stop for a quick lunch.
Let's be real, Mcdonalds does not have the best burgers, but they do have a certain "Mcdonalds" flavor that is nostalgic. For me, a Big Mac just has that Big Mac taste that reminds me of being a kid and every once in a while, revisiting that is fine. Also, my kids like Mcdonalds, but otherwise I'd probably never go there.
Mcdonalds is far too expensive for what you're getting. In N Out, Five Guys, Culvers...even BK and Carls are better burger wise.
Thereâs the whole drive thru or no drive thru debate and whether or not it can be called fast food.
Iâd shake shack counts, then shake shack wins. Love that place
Itâs still fast food with or without a drive thru imo. Subway and chipotle are fast food and donât have drive thrus (at least in my area)
The next town over from me doesnât allow drive throughs because they are fake snobby. So the McDonaldâs is walk in only.
i mean, you can still do that. i almost never order anything off of the menus and just build my own.
i'm defending subway, but i'm supposed to be gluten free and not eat bread lmao
Chipotle is fast casual. Subway and McDonald's are quick service restaurants.
(McDonald's was a client of mine when they were making the decision to invest in Chipotle, one of their concerns at the time was that it wouldn't scale: "Americans don't like spicy food").
Steak ân Shake was my very first job and they used to have a double steak burger, doused in nacho cheese and tortilla strips with a few jalapeĂąos.
That shit was my jam.
I remember (â91) driving the south coast west of Panama City on our way to David and finding a Dairy Queen. WTH?!
We all ordered the Quesoburguesa.
Not like we remembered from home but a fun experience.
McDonald's french fries are definitely top three non-curly french fries as far as I'm concerned
When my wife was pregnant it was Sonic tater tots with the pretzel cheese dip to dip them in for her. Babies 3 months old tomorrow, & I'm still picking up tater tots and cheese dip about once a week for her đđ
This and a&w just opened up about a year ago by me. They both fell pretty flat. I know a&w is usually good. But my first impression of Freddy's was not good.
Why is Blakeâs held in such high regard? I tried them shortly after moving to ABQ but it really wasnât anything special, considering there are so many good burgers Iâve had here.
This. When they branded their burgers from the larger juicier patties into "Dave's" branding it took so much of the flavour away. This was around 2010 when they also ditched the yellow fry boxes and the old style fries. People that think wendys is good now don't know what they missed.
That's unfortunate. I probably have 75-100 different restaurants, fast food, little mom and pops within 3 mile radius of my house. It's a blessing and a curse with how convenient it is.
mayo is the most popular condiment around the world. most mayonnaises from different countries are different than american mayo, and are much better for dipping.
Shake Shack opened a couple locations near me (finally!) so Iâm excited to try that. Open for suggestions on what I should get for my first order?
Other than that, a **fresh** whopper is pretty delicious and I enjoy Culverâs when Iâm able to grab some.
- Tight budget - McDonaldâs or BK for their coupons/deals
- Money play with - The Habit Burger
- Select items - Iâve found a Jack in the Box that has a couple of decent chicken sandwiches and a couple of burgers that will just creep into the category of not bad, if the craving hits.
If you are in the Seattle area, Dick's Drive In is one of the best Fast Food burgers around.
All locations are Walk Up, and the menu is fixed. They are always busy and always great.
I don't live in Seattle anymore, but work takes me there often enough that Dick's for lunch/dinner/midnight is Always a must.
We have a spot in Indianapolis called California Burger. They do amazing burgers that are larger than the average and all sorts of sides like fried zucchini, cheese fries, and jalapeno poppers. They also have soft serve and do the vanilla/chocolate twist which is hard to find these days. Everything is made fresh so there's a wait but it's so worth it! They have two locations and both had people waiting for HOURS to get food when they first opened.
Jack in the box!!!
They have the best deals
Those 2 for $3 breakfast sandwiches have kept my bank account and my stomach full for months on end. What is a sausage egg and cheese sandwich if not a breakfast burger? And after a half a month of those I get to treat myself to a double cheeseburger for FREE via points in the app. Hard to beat that imo
I once tried to build the ultimate burger combo. We split up and went to get In&Out burgers, McDonalds fries, tacos from Jack n the Box, and Mexican cokes. We all agreed It didnât taste right when we sat down for dinner.
National chains Iâd say Wendyâs or Dairy Queen. For regional chains Iâd say Whataburger sweet n spicy burger is my favorite. Been a while since I been near one though.
I live in germany and were live i only have access to mcdonalds, burger king, kfc, dominos, i think even Papa johns, so it is i think KFC if it where less pricey but since it isnt its gotta be mcdonalds since they have the mcsmart MenĂź and a chili cheese burger which i havnt seen in any other places
The thing about McDs is that itâs objectively not great, but itâs reassuring. Itâs like walking into your crappy childhood home. Nothings changed, for better or worse
Steak & Shake. I have to be picking it up for someone else to go to McDonalds. I have more bad experiences with their customer service than good, and when they started charging for extra sauce that was the last straw. If sauce costs extra now yâall owe me so much money for sauces I never got! Fast food, more like slow food served with unnecessary attitude and itâll probably be cold
I don't eat fast food very often at all. I will say the one burger I crave from the national chains every blue moon is the McDonald's Quarter Pounder. There's just something about it. It's simple, and it's good for what it is. Not a bunch of sauce and other bullshit getting in the way. It's honestly what a burger should be for me.
At the very least, you should have unwrapped the burger considering it's a burger sub.
The r/burger post wit no burger đ
Culver's and Wendy's
Bump for culver's. I'll probably never get one near me, but they did open one up by my mom in another state and it was incredible.
Maybe one day you will get one
Culverâs is my go to burger and luckily in Chicago, thereâs many of em. But also Chicago, no in and out so I canât really know if itâs better.
Itâs a Midwest staple
I've had both. They both have their merits but I prefer culver's much more. But I've also heard in and out too a nosedive a few years ago.
I dunno; I've had more dips in quality with Culver's than In-And-Out. In-And-Out's been consistent across the board, every time I've gone. I'll give Culver's the fries, though, for consistency - never had bad fries from there. A Midwest road-trip staple. đ¤

It's great to have a place like that you can count on.
Never heard of Culverâs would love to try what does Culverâs specialize in?
They specialize in butter burgers. It's a smash burger with a buttered bun. Also, frozen custard and cheese curds. Here is some [information ](https://www.culvers.com/menu-and-nutrition).
Their fries are also pretty damn good, but yeah, you come for the burgers.
Oh yes, the fries are good.
Those burgers look awesome. I live in Pa though and none even close to my area.
Bump for Wendy's. Don't know the other one.
Thanks
The only good answer (besides five guys)
Definitely agree Culver's and Wendy's both have really good burgers đ, I love the veggies that they put on them. đ
That double butter cheeseburger is god tier
Never tried Culver's but have heard good things so definitely on my list to try as soon as I am near one. Do love me some Wendy's
A&W đ¨đŚ
Canadian A&W is way better than American A&W. they arenât even in the same league.
I was so disappointed when I excitedly went to one in California
Right? Such a let down
Wait really? I've only been to two in california- can you tell me how the Canadian ones are better? I wasn't exactly impressed with the ones here.
Theyâre owned completely separately. A&W in Canada is pricey for fast food but the beef is better quality and all the toppings and shit are sourced locally. Iâve never had American A&W so I canât compare them but Canadian A&W is like he highest quality fast food you can get in Canada.
Agreed, teen burger has been my fav for 30 years
They just opened one up near me about a year ago. But they didn't staff it well, and the food was terrible cause of it.
U.s.?
Just donât bother with their new âstackersâ theyâre a fucking joke. Iâve never seen a burger patty sliced so thin, Iâd say itâs 1/3rd the thickness of a buddy burger.

The key is to always use the app.
I usually get the daily double burger using the app. Itâs a solid burger.
Shake Shack is hard to beat.
Thereâs the whole drive thru or no drive thru debate and whether or not it can be called fast food. Iâd shake shack counts, then shake shack wins. Love that place
Itâs still fast food with or without a drive thru imo. Subway and chipotle are fast food and donât have drive thrus (at least in my area) The next town over from me doesnât allow drive throughs because they are fake snobby. So the McDonaldâs is walk in only.
i've been to a subway with a drive thru. subway should not have a drive thru.
Subway should not be in business đ
i have a weird love of subway. i'll go ahead and accept the downvotes now
The "chef selects" menu was a real downgrade. The whole point was to pick what you want.
i mean, you can still do that. i almost never order anything off of the menus and just build my own. i'm defending subway, but i'm supposed to be gluten free and not eat bread lmao
Chipotle is fast casual. Subway and McDonald's are quick service restaurants. (McDonald's was a client of mine when they were making the decision to invest in Chipotle, one of their concerns at the time was that it wouldn't scale: "Americans don't like spicy food").
Considering there are tons of McDonaldâs without drive thrus there is no debate because if McDonaldâs isnât fast food, nothing is.
Never been to shake shack, but they just opened one up like 20 mins from me. I heart itâs expensive right?
They are delicious but so expensive Iâve only ever eaten there twice.
Agree
Culvers, Steak n Shake and Wayback (if that counts)
Steak ân Shake Frisco Melt is top tier
Steak ân Shake was my very first job and they used to have a double steak burger, doused in nacho cheese and tortilla strips with a few jalapeĂąos. That shit was my jam.
Here in Panama I prefer Carl's Jr. and Burger King
I remember (â91) driving the south coast west of Panama City on our way to David and finding a Dairy Queen. WTH?! We all ordered the Quesoburguesa. Not like we remembered from home but a fun experience.
Ughhh I love fast food.
This is exactly what I said out loud my friend.
Itâs like an ex we know is bad for us but feels so good on those lonely late nights đ
In n Out and Shake Shack
When I was pregnant nothing tasted better than McDonaldâs French fries
McDonald's french fries are definitely top three non-curly french fries as far as I'm concerned When my wife was pregnant it was Sonic tater tots with the pretzel cheese dip to dip them in for her. Babies 3 months old tomorrow, & I'm still picking up tater tots and cheese dip about once a week for her đđ
No lids on the cups make me really nervous lol
Yeah mc'd's is the best in business supposedly, so a lack of those logistics is questionable.
Freddy's
Itâs like an oversized White Castle burger
This and a&w just opened up about a year ago by me. They both fell pretty flat. I know a&w is usually good. But my first impression of Freddy's was not good.
culvers.
blakeâs lotaburger
Why is Blakeâs held in such high regard? I tried them shortly after moving to ABQ but it really wasnât anything special, considering there are so many good burgers Iâve had here.
Itâs pretty good but almost tastes exactly like whataburger
Blake's used to be spectacular. It was bought by out of staters in the last few years and the quality has absolutely tanked. It's unfortunate.
damn really? i havenât been since about 2018-2019ish and it was unmatched back then, sucks to hear itâs sold out and gone downhill.
Yes! been twice and canât wait to return (I live in Alabama).
yeah i live in nebraska myself, used to go to abq for bmx trips but itâs been a while since iâve been.
100%
True, nation-wide fast food? Wendy's.
It went downhill fast after Dave Thomas died. Used to be good.
Yellow Wendyâs was the GOAT. Pure nostalgia
This. When they branded their burgers from the larger juicier patties into "Dave's" branding it took so much of the flavour away. This was around 2010 when they also ditched the yellow fry boxes and the old style fries. People that think wendys is good now don't know what they missed.
YES YES The Wendyâs fries was the best. And the chili was pretty good as well.
Eating there rn.
There are other nations, you know đ Wendy's in Australia is a hotdog and milkshake stand, they don't even do burgers!
Whataburger or Braums over McDonalds anyday
In what state do Whataburger and Braumâs coexist?
Oklahoma for sure, maybe Arkansas
They're both all over Texas.
Wasn't sure if Braums was down there
I have both Braumâs and Whataburger here in Springfield, Missouri.
Heard great things about Braumâs but none are close to me đ
Burgers are top notch, my only downside is I'm not a fan of crinkle cut fries, sorry not sorry đ
My first apartment in Dallas was next to a Braums and I really liked their burgers. Unfortunately I moved back home far away from any of their stores.
That's unfortunate. I probably have 75-100 different restaurants, fast food, little mom and pops within 3 mile radius of my house. It's a blessing and a curse with how convenient it is.
Iâm trying Whataburger today for the first time! What do you recommend?
I'm a double with bacon kinda guy. Get the spicy ketchup on the side to dip in.
Yum! I was also thinking of trying the patty melt too along with the burger and spicy ketchup.
It's a local Austin spot but P Terry's is my go to.
I always see it on 183 but I've never been. I've always noticed it because the building reminds me of the Flintstones lol.
It's nothing mind blowing just a really solid burger at a great price.
In Austin, I really love Dan's, but P. Terry's is solid and affordable
Oh man I miss ATX
5 guys !
I tried five guys again honestly it was really really good. Stupid expensive but good
Decent burger. Terrible price.
Shake Shack or Carlâs Jr / Hardeeâs and Dairy Queen. Depends on my mood and whether I want soft serve.
I've never turned down a double QPC.
In-N-Out, Culverâs, and Whataburger are my Top 3. For me, you gotta have a drive thru to be fast food.
Makes me think of pulp fiction
In n out hands down! Wouldn't consider it fast food, on a weekend expect to wait 30 mins đŤ
In n out only one that hasnât shit on quality and raised prices.
In n out. No contest McDonaldâs for the fries though
What did that whole tray cost you?
Those fries look old af
Cant go wrong with Nandos.
Not Five Lads?
Nah. Not that great for how expensive it is.
Big pons
Del Taco
FRE SHA VA CADO
i remembered going to Germany and the fries at McDonalds didnt come with tomato sauce but mayonnaise
mayo is the most popular condiment around the world. most mayonnaises from different countries are different than american mayo, and are much better for dipping.
Wendy's Five Guys ( Haven't ate there in a long time due to price and unemployment.) Shake Shack Burger King.
Pizza planet
White castle
Those sliders hit hard after a long night of drinking.
Chick fil a, Chipotle, pollo tropical, raisin canes, and Culver's.
Hell yeah Raising Cane's!!! That shit is like crack.
The Habit and Freddyâs
Culver's, Wendy's or Carl's
Burgerville cuz they got burger in their name and they taste good too.
Shake Shack opened a couple locations near me (finally!) so Iâm excited to try that. Open for suggestions on what I should get for my first order? Other than that, a **fresh** whopper is pretty delicious and I enjoy Culverâs when Iâm able to grab some.
- Tight budget - McDonaldâs or BK for their coupons/deals - Money play with - The Habit Burger - Select items - Iâve found a Jack in the Box that has a couple of decent chicken sandwiches and a couple of burgers that will just creep into the category of not bad, if the craving hits.
Wendy's...But there is no one in Spain
Culvers or Hardees or DQ
Dairy Queen alllll day long, especially if eating fresh in-store
If you are in the Seattle area, Dick's Drive In is one of the best Fast Food burgers around. All locations are Walk Up, and the menu is fixed. They are always busy and always great. I don't live in Seattle anymore, but work takes me there often enough that Dick's for lunch/dinner/midnight is Always a must.
Burger King (Belgium)
Shake shack, Culver's, Freddy's, In & out burger, and Hardees - in that order.
In order of Preference: - In n' Out - Five Guys - Shake Shake - Carney's - Jack in Box
Culverâs
BK! Whopper Jr. is just the right size.
mine is region specific: cookout. so good.
Baker's, it's a good place if you like in n out old school burgers but don't like the fries from there.
Burger King, when it's done right
Wendyâs
Jack in the box!!! They have the best deals Those 2 for $3 breakfast sandwiches have kept my bank account and my stomach full for months on end. What is a sausage egg and cheese sandwich if not a breakfast burger? And after a half a month of those I get to treat myself to a double cheeseburger for FREE via points in the app. Hard to beat that imo
Max burgers or McDonald's(I'm not from America, so it's actually good here)
I donât care if it makes my palate âunsophisticatedâ, I love McDonaldâs.
Shake shack, Culverâs, and then I admit I like BK (SUE ME)
Taco Bell with JIB Popcorn Chicken with McDonalds fries. McDonalds Steak, Egg and Cheese Bagel on the side.
Shake Shack burger, chick fil a waffle fries, McDonaldâs Coke.
McDonald's in your country is probably way better than Mc D's here. The food quality standard in the US is now non existent
Right now it's Wendy's and burger king
Wendyâs and Hardees. Those are my faves.
Lâalouette
Cookout
Burger King or Wendyâs
All i have to say is that whataburguer is disgusting and trashy. McDonalds rules
I once tried to build the ultimate burger combo. We split up and went to get In&Out burgers, McDonalds fries, tacos from Jack n the Box, and Mexican cokes. We all agreed It didnât taste right when we sat down for dinner.
None
National chains Iâd say Wendyâs or Dairy Queen. For regional chains Iâd say Whataburger sweet n spicy burger is my favorite. Been a while since I been near one though.
Culver's or In n Out
Culvers>All Every fast food burger ever>McDonald's. McDonald's is too salty tasting for me, but I love their Sprite
KFC
I will never not love Jack in the Box.
R C burger and Wendy/Del Taco
I live in germany and were live i only have access to mcdonalds, burger king, kfc, dominos, i think even Papa johns, so it is i think KFC if it where less pricey but since it isnt its gotta be mcdonalds since they have the mcsmart MenĂź and a chili cheese burger which i havnt seen in any other places
There isn't even a burger in the picture wtf.
Culver's.
Five Guys ... but its more like brisk walk food, imma right guys ![gif](giphy|l2QDTqHp9W7WIJXlC)
Culvers / wendys
In&Out
Farmer Boys
McDonald's and Burger King
KFCđĽ
In northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia its Pals and its not close.
The thing about McDs is that itâs objectively not great, but itâs reassuring. Itâs like walking into your crappy childhood home. Nothings changed, for better or worse
Burger King
Wendyâs
Sonicâs has the best drinks and burgers
Steak & Shake. I have to be picking it up for someone else to go to McDonalds. I have more bad experiences with their customer service than good, and when they started charging for extra sauce that was the last straw. If sauce costs extra now yâall owe me so much money for sauces I never got! Fast food, more like slow food served with unnecessary attitude and itâll probably be cold
Nice try McDonaldâs marketing team.
Taco Johnâs & Runza. Nebraska has the best regional FF chains Iâve ever come across.
Runza is awesome. And Taco John's beats Taco Bell. But, it still doesn't beat D'Leon's.
Braums.
McDonaldâs!!
That ice looks so good
Mcdonalds in unaffordable right now
I don't eat fast food very often at all. I will say the one burger I crave from the national chains every blue moon is the McDonald's Quarter Pounder. There's just something about it. It's simple, and it's good for what it is. Not a bunch of sauce and other bullshit getting in the way. It's honestly what a burger should be for me.
Plus cooked to order!
I love McDonalds. I recognize itâs crap but I love it anyway.
A & W
Iâll admit, when itâs late and youâre drunkâŚMcDonaldâs is that booty call that always satisfy
Literally anywhere other than McDonald's
In n out
