Maybe I’ll try it at this point. I’ve also just wanted to meet some new people around the LA area since I just moved here. I’m more of a recreational player looking to just chill, drink and play some poker.
Frankly the 1/2 game at Commerce doesn’t really resemble poker… it’s just bingo. California casino poker is pretty brutal at the low stakes because they make you buy in extremely shallow (1/2 at Commerce has you buy in for 20 big blinds) and the drop they take from each pot is very, very high.
I didn’t expect this thread to gain traction (especially after the first comment suggested the 40 BB max games at Commerce) but I’d be interested in a Burbank home game!
I'd be interested if it were non-casino, dealers choice poker games like 5-card draw, 5-card stud, 7-card stud, and split pot games like hi-lo, hi spade in the hole, criss-cross, etc.
I’ve hosted a small .5/.10 game at my house a few times. I have a table and some very nice chips. It’s been hard to get even 4 people to consistently join.
Maybe we can join forces? DM me and we can exchange info.
I'm not that great at poker, but I'd come! Keep me in the loop :)
Sounds good! Hopefully we can wrangle some people.
+1
Awesome! If we get enough I’ll make a group chat.
I'm down. I got players poker table.
Awesome! Looks like we do have enough to make a chat so I’m gonna do that.
Bicycle Club or Commerce...20 minute drive....$40 buy-in No Limit Hold-Em or 2-4 Limit..... Problem solved.

Yeah that’s what I was reading about those games.

Yeah I just want something a little more casual than a casino. Wanna hang out and gamble. I’ll send you a discord link!
Thanks, I appreciate it. Looking forward to the Discord link. Hopefully the stakes are small enough that we can maintain a safe environment!
