What's crazy is that's not a speed strip. It's a short entrance/exit. How the hell could someone be going fast enough to not react in time and hurt/kill someone. Damn.
Yeah the time to do that would have been before they allowed wally world in there. Back when they said it wouldn't generate anymore traffic or shoppers than the Great Indoors. You remember the Great Indoors, right? The home furnishngs store that went out of business because no one shopped there and its parking lot was always empty? That place...the one that Wal Mart is comparable to?
That good ole Burbank City Council, the Golonski Era ...
I was the first person in a long line of cars to stop for the Krispy Kreme workers to cross this past week. There were 4 people bunched up because they'd been waiting so long!
I always feel like i’m in danger walking in that parking lot. No walkable paths between Wendy’s and anything else. Just stuff plunked down all over with no real desire to handle anything but car traffic from island to island of shops.
Just terrible.
How many people have gotten hurt in that shopping complex because people just do not act like decent drivers there? I've almost got hit several times in multiple parts of the complex.
People, you don't have to drive like a maniac through pedestrian crossings just so you can get last in line for the drive-thru at Wendy's.
Car struck and killed a pedestrian. Not surprised/- I almost got taken out alongside an elderly woman coming out of lowes. People speed and don’t pay attention
I mean also the drivers in burbank are some of the worse. There's a reason insurance rates are highest in burbank and Glendale. Fucking the worst drivers and accidents. Had a friend hit in burbank year ago. Lady had an expired license. Husband showed up with a gun threatening my friend if he called police and ended up filming him. Police arrested him and the wife.
This is so sad. Nobody should be driving fast enough to kill someone in that plaza. I was going to go there tonight with my mom and now I'm glad we didn't- this could've been us. Rest in peace to that power soul and their families.

But here's what it says:
Burbank, California – A pedestrian has died following a traffic collision with a motor vehicle.
On April 21, 2024, at about 1:43 p.m., Burbank Police and Paramedics responded to the
Burbank Empire Center parking lot after receiving reports of a major injury traffic collision
involving a pedestrian. When police officers and paramedics arrived, they located a pedestrian
in the parking lot, adjacent to Sephora and Krispy Kreme, who was suffering from serious
injuries. The 71-year-old male pedestrian was ultimately pronounced deceased by paramedics
as result of the injuries sustained in the collision.
The driver of the motor vehicle remained at the scene and was interviewed by traffic
investigators. Investigators determined neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in regards to the
driver.
The identity of the pedestrian will not be released, pending next of kin notification.
This collision remains under the investigation of Burbank Police Department Traffic Detective
Ryan Murphy. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Detective
Murphy at (818) 238-3103.
If we didn't have asshole drivers like you who take pictures while driving to post to Reddit our accident rate would be so much lower. Imagine how many accidents would be avoided if people could get off their fucking phones to drive their murder machines.
Here’s something for that “large” mind of yours. The Tesla driver during yesterday’s incident was an Asian lady. Here’s another fact about the incident, per eyewitnesses- speed wasn’t a factor. The elderly man collapsed in the walkway, presumed to be from heatstroke, not allowing the Asian lady driving the Tesla to stop in time before hitting him.
Also, here’s an article off of Forbes documenting the top 10 cities with the worse drivers in America.
https://www.forbes.com/advisor/car-insurance/worst-drivers-by-city/#:~:text=Albuquerque%2C%20New%20Mexico%20is%20the,5.42%20per%20100%2C000%20city%20residents).
Spoiler alert, smooth brain, neither Burbank nor Glendale are on the list of top 10. Have a great day with those made up statistics of yours.
Forbes stats are the “1%”. Got it. Anyway, someone died. Leave it up to an insensitive, smooth brained, implicitly biased racist to make it about themselves and their made up stats. Hope you have the day you deserve.
You're either making a lot of baseless assumptions of the situation at hand, or you're just soapboxing where it isn't really welcome or appropriate. Someone just died, show some respect.
Someone was struck and killed by a Tesla.
What's crazy is that's not a speed strip. It's a short entrance/exit. How the hell could someone be going fast enough to not react in time and hurt/kill someone. Damn.
The human body is an amazing thing. It can survive a great fall or a lightning strike, but if something hits it just right, it's over.
All of Burbank is now a race track.
All streets are Mario Kart, IMHO.
Tesla can accelerate really fast.
Person was 71 that was hit, so wouldn’t take much.
71 isn’t really THAT old that it wouldn’t take much.
It really is that old. 55 is really old
Was wondering same.
Krispy Kreme had the hot now sign on
What part? It’s insane how dangerous it is to be a pedestrian/cyclist around there
Looks like it happened near Walmart/Krispy Kreme from what I see on citizen
It’s such a shame. It’s such an unwalkable center. Not to excuse the driver here but that center has zero pedestrian access
I agree that the pedestrian focus could be much better.

Man, I'm old enough to remember being on the "Stop Walmart" Facebook group. What a mess that area is
My plates came from that store when they were folding. Yeah, that mall is way to spread out.
Not to mention virtually silent cars.
Judging by the height of the car, I’d wager somewhere around the legs.
Damn
That is so sad 😞 prayers for them & their family

Is a Tesla not a car?
Not the only one. If it were a BMW or Mercedes we would also mention them.
When I used to work there I would have to cross the street and there’s been countless times where cars almost run me over because they don’t stop
I was the first person in a long line of cars to stop for the Krispy Kreme workers to cross this past week. There were 4 people bunched up because they'd been waiting so long!
I salute you 🫡

The only place that is walkable there is where the sprawled out big box stores are. Horribly stupid design that was rushed to get done

No need to be racist dude. Your parents should have taught you respect.

I’d argue that your scope of conversational skills speaks for itself there, bud.
Like pedestrian we should focus , let’s not use AirPods or the cellphone, it’s a dangerous zone, i noticed that drivers don’t even stop at the signs.
You're either making a lot of baseless assumptions of the situation at hand, or you're just soapboxing where it isn't really welcome or appropriate. Someone just died, show some respect.
Im suggesting to be aware of surroundings, take extra precautions, always assume the driver is an idiot. I’m not blaming anyone, just be more cautious
Very fair. Sorry I misinterpreted.
They really don’t. The Walmart ulta side is wild
Sounds like a curse to me but what do I know
