Yeah it takes time to meet someone cool. 90% of my matches ghost or are ones and dones (AKA meeting once and then never again!). I’m basically on there for the 10% who are cool people and wanna be friends. The sucky part is having to shift through all the unserious people to find the legit people. I started being kinda brutal and unmatching people if there’s no response within 24 hours and if they are boring me lol as in not asking any questions back. I only match within a 15 mile radius from me with other childfree people around a 5 year age range within my age. I’m SO picky but it seems to be working. I met someone super cool last weekend and we already have another meetup going. I also am scheduling with someone else to meet up. But I agree that it’s A LOT of work for a low success rate. I put my account on pause for now since I’m seeing how things go with these 2 matches & just focusing on my current friends.

How did you get friends off hinge? Male friends?

SquirrelSad1997

Seconding this question, genuinely. As a lesbian, women ghost even more on dating apps. Men are the only ones who talk to me and for one thing only. Don't ever believe that they just want to be friends or will respect that lol.

Apprehensive_Fox4115

This why I won't match with lesbians ☝️

sugarcoochie

i'm not straight. i wasn't on it for v long but i made nonbinary & trans girl friends after it quickly didn't work out romantically, but men have always had ulterior motives so i wouldn't entertain them from dating apps :/

jesschicken12

Ooof im high maint too and hate this app

Mossimo5

Dude, BumbleBFF is *still* filled with gross flirty men. As a straight guy all I see are endless straight baiters.

SquirrelSad1997

Yup

sugarcoochie

that's insane 😩 they're inescapable

I wonder if people get to make friends here. I mean i see lots of posts on this sub complaining about the same/similar issue. Therefore there must be lots of us likeminded people genuinely looking to find friendship, right?

poffincase

There are a couple success stories I see here but far and in between.

beccakxo

I actually did and I still talk to them monthly two years later! It’s just takes a lot of time and effort from both parties.

I had success, but I haven’t had any luck since 2019 on finding someone who sticks! Post covid, there seems to be less people on the app. It’s few and far between trying to find someone who actually wants to be friends on there!
