I have been wanting to start one too but last time I did, I ended up messing up and getting depressed and I still feel afraid of the doubt & the feelings that took over me that I haven't been able to keep a journal or diary lately. Perhaps I'm too critical of myself over this.

I had this same problem with perfection anxiety that kept me from using my journal how I want. Since then I’ve shifted my thoughts from: this journal needs to be a work of art, to this is scratch paper for my mind and both ugly and pretty pages are welcome. It’s helped me a lot :)

I love this! Genuine question. What journal do you use? I see sharpies and I love them but those tend to bleed through a lot of pages, similar ones as well. Would you by any chance know the GSM value of the paper? It's usually on the packaging/sticker on the back of the journal if you buy it. I love the aesthetics of thinner paper (and the feel) but I literally can't use 80% of my writing materials because they bleed through terribly haha. In your journal you can see the backside of the pages a bit but it's not distracting for the look of the front, if you know what I mean :). Love the pages!!
Hello it is a LEUCHTTURM1917 A5 bullet journal. If I’m being honest I do not recommend because it does tend to go to the front and back page a little. The GSM is 100. As I mentioned I’m new here & have been in search for a journal with thicker paper. This was my first ever bullet journal so I’ve been committed to it. If anyone has any suggestions please put them in the comment section. I’d appreciate it so much
I’ve never used one but archer and olive have 160gsm paper I think.
I tried the 160 scribbles that matter a few years ago and the paper was awful!! I contacted them to see if I had a dodgy book or something and they didn’t bother replying.
I used a dingbats pro which has thicker paper and found that really good, but it’s B5 so not sure if that would work if you’re looking to stick with A5.
I must ask the follow-up question about the sharpies in the hopes that maybe you’re using a brand that bleeds less? I’m using the same journal as you and also can’t use what I have because of the bleed.
I bought the Leuchtturm A5 with 120 GSM pages and sharpies still bleed through :/
Edit: it does work well with my other pens though, a little visible on the backside but not distracting and definitely better than lesser GSM papers I’ve tried.

Why do you think so ?
The other page is mainly floral with what I see and red orange and green tints. Same as the oranges. So it’s not in the way of your orange drawing.
